Introduction
Outdoor speakers are just as vital as interior speakers, and this speaker allows you the choice of both. Together with the 3″ graphite midrange, the 1″ pivoting soft dome tweeter, and the 8″ polypropylene woofers deep bass, you get a well-balanced middle and high sonic response. With its rustproof, powder-coated aluminum grill and weather-resistant ABS housing, which is secure in rain, ice, sleet, and other conditions, you can count on this speaker to provide you with the audio you want both indoors and outside. A swivel bracket is also supplied, allowing you to put it either horizontally or vertically and direct it in whatever way you.
WIRING
Please use Diagram 1 below to familiarize yourself with the rear panel of your outdoor speaker.
Attach the speaker cable to the speaker cable terminals, observing the proper polarity with your amplifier, + to + (red) and – to – (black). Make sure to connect the right channel to the right speaker and the left channel to the left speaker.
PLACEMENT
Placement Under Eaves and Outdoors
When mounting your speakers outdoors, the eaves of the roof provide an ideal location. They reduce the exposure of constant direct sunlight, salt spray, and precipitation. If installing speakers on a boat, the wheelhouse provides the best location for the same reasons. Following these suggestions will help to ensure that your speakers will last a lifetime.
Placement on a Wall or Bookshelf
When placing your speakers on a wall or bookshelf, optimal sound will be achieved if they are mounted at ear level or slightly higher. The usual listening area should be no closer to the speakers than the distance between the speakers themselves.
ADJUSTING THE PIVOTING TWEETER
Depending upon your listening area, you may find the sound more pleasing by pointing the tweeter in a particular direction. If additional treble is desired, simply point the tweeter towards that area; if less treble is required, point the tweeter away.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Who has access to quality audio?****
Proficient is a member of the Nortek Control family. Nortek Control, a global pioneer in smart linked devices and solutions, serves the residential, security, access control, and digital health markets.
Can indoor speakers be used outside?****
While indoor speakers can be used outdoors, they are more vulnerable to weather damage than outdoor-specific equipment. If you utilize indoor speakers indoors, make sure to bring them inside while not in use.
What power output is suitable for an outdoor speaker?****
Wattages for outdoor speakers range from 60 to 300 watts. Two 60-watt speakers placed 20 feet apart can provide enough sound coverage for spaces under 300 square feet. A pair of outdoor Magnat Symbol X 130 speakers can handle 200 watts of power on the higher end.
What distinguishes interior speakers from outside speakers?****
The main design distinction between an indoor speaker and an outdoor speaker is location. Outdoor systems need to be resilient, able to tolerate adverse weather like rain, hail, snow, and misdirected kickballs. This suggests that the materials used to construct them must be sturdy.
Do outdoor speakers require an amplifier?****
Since most outdoor speakers lack built-in amplification, they are passive devices and so need power to operate.
Can outdoor speakers be left on all year round?****
Your outdoor speaker’s components could shatter in the cold. If you utilize the speakers and turn up the volume, the parts could be damaged. When the temperature is below zero, never turn on the speakers. Use should be limited to temperatures under 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
What is the ideal decibel level for an outside speaker?****
Outside, the optimal range is between 70 and 80 dB. With no discomfort or hearing damage, the volume is just loud enough to be heard over the music and background noise.
What happens if you overpower a speaker with power?****
The power of an amp can be too much for the speakers. There is a limit to how much electrical energy speakers can convert into sound. In general, if the amplifier produces more electrical energy than the speakers can handle, damage is unlikely to happen. Instead, clipping or distortion could happen.

Does wattage correlate with speaker volume?****
Yes, speakers do play louder and more clearly at higher power settings (watts). However, little changes in power don’t make much of a difference in terms of audibility. To hear a change audibly, the power would need to be increased by a factor of two (3dB).
Does speaker performance improve without grills?****
Most speakers actually perform better without grilles, even though this can vary from speaker to speaker and, in some cases, the difference may not even be heard.
Which is better for speakers: passive or powered?****
Active speakers will sound best as soon as they leave the factory. The amplifier is built into the device; therefore you can’t replace the parts for better performance. Depending on your perspective, this may be viewed as a benefit or a disadvantage.
Can outdoor speakers be left in the rain?****
Outdoor speakers require maintenance as well as protection. For their protection, keep outside speakers away from moisture and the sun. When it is impractical to bring them inside during bad weather, cover them.
Do outdoor speakers require a receiver?****
You’ll need an amplifier or receiver to connect audio sources and power your speakers.
