Section 1: Before Using Your Spinshot Home
Thank you for purchasing a SPINSHOT Home tennis ball machine. This manual contains important information concerning the proper use and care of your ball machine. Please read the owner’s manual completely before operating your machine.
What Tennis Balls to Use
Any standard sized tennis balls can be used in the Spinshot Home. Using tennis balls designed for children – Red Dot, Orange Dot or Green Dot, will make it easier for children to hit the balls as they are softer and nicer to hit.
Important Warnings
- Supervise children at all times when they are using the machine.
- Do not reach or look into the ball exit hole without turning the power off.
- Do not place foreign objects into the ball machine.
- Overloading balls into the ball chute will make it difficult for the returning balls to drop into the chute.
- Do not use your machine outside while it is raining.
- Do not use wet tennis balls.
Frame & Net Assembly
ASSEMBLE THE FRAME
The frame sections are outlined below. Please follow the step by step
instructions for proper assembly of the frame.
BUILD THE FRAME BASE
Join RED base sections 1 and 2 as pictured below.
Unfold the front and rear legs and allow the elasticated internal cord to pull
the sections together. Push the sections firmly together to secure them into
position.
To join the sections together, push the lock pin down, then push the adjoining
frame sections 1 and 2 together (figure 2), clicking them into position to
ensure the correct connection.
The velcro tabs indicate the front legs of the frame base.
ATTACH THE UPRIGHT SECTIONS
Attach the short black upright sections 4 to the frame base. The hooks should be facing into the centre of the frame.
ATTACH THE NET & LONG UPRIGHT POLES
Assemble the long black upright poles 3 Unfold the long black upright poles and allow the elasticated internal cord to pull the sections together. Push the sections firmly together so they lock into position.
The Net
The net consists of three parts – the front net, the rear net and the base
net. The front net is short, hangs loose and is attached to the rear net along
the top and also at the bottom corners. The rear net is longer and is attached
to the base net.
Attach the Net
Holding the net with the black tabs facing the front of the frame, slide one
of the long upright poles through the red sleeve and secure the corner of the
net to the hook at the top of the pole (figure 3).
Insert the bottom end of the upright pole to the centre fitting of the frame base. Repeat with the other pole and other side of the net.
ATTACH THE BASE NET
Attach the corners of the base net to the short black uprights numbered 4 Pull the corners of the base net over the top hooks of the short black poles. Ensure the hooks are attached to the net where the reinforced red stitching is used.
ATTACH THE SMALL NET
Attach the bottom corners of the small front net to the two front pole hooks. Secure the top corners of the small net to the red sleeves using the adjustable rope pulls .5 Using the black ties, attach the bottom edge of the net to the front edge of the base net.
Assemble the Machine
The machine comes in three parts:
- the base of the machine
- two curved chute sections
-
ATTACH THE CHUTE TO THE MACHINE
Click the bottom chute piece onto the machine and then click the top chute piece into place. -
POSITION THE MACHINE
Position the machine so the top of the chute sits directly under the exit hole of the base net (figure 8).
Powering Your Machine
POWER OPTIONS FOR YOUR MACHINE
Your Spinshot Home can either be plugged into mains power (power cord
supplied) or fitted with 4 x D sized batteries (not supplied). POWER
SWITCH
The red power switch is located on the right hand side of the machine. The
power switch starts and stops the ball machine. Serving of balls will start as
soon as the machine is switched on.
Speed Selection
SPEED DIAL
The Spinshot Home has four speed settings. Use the red speed dial to change
the speed. This will also adjust the height of the balls.
- Speed 1 (position pictured) delivers the ball low and close to the machine/net.
- Speeds 2 – 4 throw the balls slightly longer and higher to allow for different skills and the space available. The more space you have the higher the speed you can use.
SPEED SETTINGS
The diagram below shows the approximate postion of the ball at speed settings one to four-speed one bouncing the lowest and closest to the machine/net, and speed four bouncing the ball furtherest and highest. Adjust the speed setting to suit the player level and the space available.
Positioning of Machine and Net
Space Requirements
Position the net where you have a minimum space approximately 3 meters wide
and 4 meters long.
Player position [ X ] should be far enough away from walls, furniture and
objects so when the player’s arm and racquet are out stretched they do not
touch anything. 4+ meters
Warranty Period
The warranty service is free for materials and workmanship for a period of two
years from date of original purchase.
Scope of Warranty
This warranty covers all defects in material and workmanship. The following
are not covered by the warranty:
