Step 1 Set up your TV

Remove your TV from the box
Be careful, it’s heavy!
To mount on a wall
Follow the instructions that come with the wall mount.
Wall mount sold separately.
To use the stand
A To prevent damage to the screen, carefully place your TV on a soft, cushioned surface.
B Put the stands into the TV, align the stands with the screw holes located on the TV.
C Secure the stands to the TV with four (4) screws.

Step 2 Power up

In this step, we’ll make sure all systems are GO!
Power your TV remote by inserting the included batteries carefully matching (+) and (-) indicated inside the battery compartment.
Plug your TV’s power cord into a wall outlet.
Power Tip! Always replace dead batteries with two brand-new batteries from the same manufacturer. Never use damaged batteries.
If your remote gets warm/hot during use, discontinue use and contact customer support immediately at www.hitachi.us/tv.

Step 3 Grab your remote

The TV remote should feel right at home in your hand. It was designed to be incredibly intuitive for watching TV and navigating on-screen menus.
Here are some buttons you should know about.

A POWER Turn TV on and off
B BACK Return to the previous screen
C HOME Return to Roku Home screen
D VOLUME Raise and lower volume
E INSTANT REPLAY Replay the last few seconds of streaming video
F OPTIONS View more options
G RWD SCAN Rewind streaming video, scroll left one page at a time
H FWD SCAN Fast forward streaming video, scroll right one page at a time
I LIVE TV PAUSE Activate and use the Live TV Pause when a 16 GB USB drive is attached to the TV.
J D-PAD LEFT Brings up the Smart Guide (EPG) while watching Antenna TV.
*Live TV Pause can pause content received on the antenna TV input for up to 90 minutes and requires a 16GB or larger USB drive and a valid Roku account. All data on the USB drive will be deleted prior to use.

Step 4 Complete Guided Setup and Activation

Tip: Have your wireless network name and password handy.
Follow the on-screen instructions on your Roku TV.

Activate your Roku TV using your computer, smartphone, or tablet to link to a Roku account. You need a Roku account to activate your Roku TV and access entertainment across thousands of streaming channels.

Note: Roku doesn’t charge for activation support – beware of scams.
Roku accounts are free and while a valid credit card number is not required to create a Roku account, saving your credit card information makes renting, purchasing, and subscribing to entertainment from the Roku Channel Store fast and convenient.
Once connected to your account, your TV will automatically update with the latest software, and you can start streaming immediately.
If you aren’t ready to connect your TV to a wireless network, you can still use it as a regular TV.

Step 5 Optional

Watching local broadcast TV? How do you scan for channels?
If you connected your TV to an antenna or cable wall jack (no box):

  1. When the setup wizard is complete, select the ANTENNA icon from the home screen.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. Whenever you want to watch local broadcast TV, select the ANTENNA icon .
  4. Connect a USB memory stick to enjoy photos, music, and movies, or to enable Live TV Pause. Live TV Pause is only available on the Antenna input of your Roku TV and requires a dedicated USB 2.0 compatible flash drive with at least 16 GB of storage to record video. The Live TV Pause feature requires a Roku account and an active internet connection.

A STATUS LIGHT Glows when the TV is in standby, flashes when the TV is busy, flashes once with each button press of the remote control.
IR RECEIVER Receives signal from the TV remote.
B POWER BUTTON Press and hold for power on/off.
C POWER PORT Connect your TV to the power source with the power cord.
D RESET BUTTON Press and hold for factory reset. Careful, you will lose all your settings!
E USB PORT Connect a USB device for browsing photos, music, and movies.
F2 HDMI PORTS Connect cable box, Blu-ray player, gaming console, or other devices to your TV using HDMI cables.
**G** HDMI ARC PORT Connect HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel) capable audio devices like soundbars or AV receivers.
H AIR/CABLE IN Connect Cable TV feed or an outdoor VHF/UHF antenna.
I COMPOSITE AV IN If your device isn’t able to connect using HDMIJ®, connect to your TV using standard red/white/yellow cables.
J HEADPHONE OUT Connect headphones or other external speakers.
K DIGITAL AUDIO OUT Connect an optical cable to an external digital audio system.

Troubleshooting

Have trouble completing the guided setup? Don’t worry, it’s usually an easy fix.
Problems connecting my cable/satellite box

  • For best performance, use the HDMI connection.
  • Make sure the cable connections to the TV and your device are securely fastened.
  • Select the corresponding HDMI input.

Problems connecting an antenna through a coaxial cable

  • Securely connect the coaxial cable from your antenna.
  • Select Antenna TV input. Then Select “Start finding channels” and follow the on-screen instructions to perform a full channel scan.

Cannot connect to a wireless network

  • Select the correct wireless network name and verify the password entered (case sensitive).
  • Relocate the router from objects that interfere with performance (cordless phones, baby monitors, etc.).
  • Reboot the router by disconnecting the power for more than 2 minutes and reconnecting.

My picture is too small (black bars on the side)

  • Play your movie/video and press the asterisk button.
  • Select Picture size , select the picture size of your preference.

If the TV remote control isn’t working

  • Remove any obstruction and point the remote at the TV’s IR receiver (see Get to know your TV).
  • Try a fresh set of batteries.
  • If the status light on the front of your TV flashes once each time you press a remote button, the problem is not with the remote. Unplug the TV power cord from the wall outlet and then plug it back in.
