Congratulations and thank you for purchasing this Schwaiger product. This user guide is designed to help you use and operate the device. Read through the instructions for use carefully. Store this manual safely throughout the product‘s entire service life and pass it on to any subsequent users or owners.

Check that the supplied package is complete and ensure that none of the parts are defective or damaged.

Intended use

This product is only suitable for private use in dry indoor areas, e.g. in garages or workshops. It is used to illuminate the relevant work area. Due to the material used, the product withstands high physical stress in the form of vibrations. The product is not intended for commercial or other use. The product can also be used as a USB charger for small electrical appliances.

This light is not suitable as conventional household lighting.

IMPORTANT!
Never look directly into the light beam (especially from a short distance).

General safety and maintenance instructions

  • This product is an electronic product that must be kept away from children.
  • The lamp is not a toy! Therefore, keep it out of the reach of children.
  • The lamp can become damaged if handled incorrectly.
  • Never expose the lamp to high temperatures or extreme cold.
  • Stop using the lamp if plastic components become cracked, broken or warped.
  • Never try to replace the light bar, as it is an integral part of the product.
  • Misuse of the lamp may cause eye injuries, as the product illuminates very brightly.
  • Never look directly into the light beam (especially from a short distance).
  • Never dazzle other people or animals with the lamp.
  • Protect the product from moisture, water, rain, snow or drizzle and use the product only in dry environments.
  • Do not intentionally drop the product or expose it to strong vibrations.
  • Do not introduce any objects into the product’s connections or openings.
  • Do not disassemble the product into its individual parts. The unit does not contain any user serviceable parts. Incorrect assembly can cause electric shocks or malfunctions.
  • Do not place burning candles or other open flames on or near the product.
  • Do not use the product near heat sources such as radiators or other heat emitting devices.

WARNING!
Do not turn on the lamp when the product is directed at a combustible surface.
The illuminated surface may overheat or ignite.

Important safety instructions on the integrated battery

  • The battery is permanently installed in the casing. It cannot be replaced.

  • Never throw the product into a fire, as the battery may explode or cause a flame hazard.

  • Recharge the device battery on a regular basis, even if you do not use it for a longer period of time (about every 3 months). Otherwise, it may become deep discharged and permanently unusable.

  • The battery does not need to be discharged before being recharged.

  • Place the product on a surface which is not sensitive to heat when recharging.
    It is normal for the product to become slightly warm when recharging.

  • Dead or damaged batteries may cause skin irritation, so use suitable gloves.

  • Leaking battery fluids are highly corrosive, and may seriously damage objects or surfaces they come into contact with.

  • Do not expose the product to direct sunlight or heat. Ambient temperatures should not fall below -5 degrees or exceed +35 degrees.

Initial operation

Be careful with the position of your hands when turning the adjustable foot/ handle to avoid pinching your fingers.

Charging the battery
This product has a built-in lithium-ion battery, which can be charged via the integrated Micro USB connector on the back of the product.
Use the supplied Micro USB charging cable and connect it to a USB power supply.

WARNING!
Be careful not to cover the product during charging. There is a risk of heating and overheating.

The product has overcharge protection. However, you should disconnect the product from the power supply when charging is complete.

Operation
Activate/deactivate the light by using the red button on the back of the product. The product has only one light mode.

LED charge level indicator
Behind the protective cap on the back of the product is a status indicator with 3 LEDs, which indicates the charge level of the integrated battery.

Charging function
A further feature of the product is the additional charging function via the USB port. This can be used to charge mobile devices such as smartphones (max. 1 A). Both functions (lighting and charging) can also be used simultaneously.

The charging function is designed as an emergency charging option. When using it, the battery is discharged more quickly and the lighting time is shortened.

Maintenance & Cleaning

This product is maintenance free, and the illuminants are not replaceable.
Ensure that no liquids get into the product while you are cleaning it. The use of solvent-containing or aggressive cleaning agents as well as alcohol or thinners is prohibited as it could damage the coating or the surface of the product. You should therefore clean the product with a lint-free, ever so slightly damp soft cloth only.

Disposal
The product is delivered in packaging made of recyclable materials to protect against damage during transport. Sort and dispose of these materials in the designated containers. Ask your local disposal company or local council about how to dispose of the product in an environmentally correct way.

Do not dispose of batteries or electric and electronic devices in the normal household waste. The consumer is legally obliged to return electrical and electronic devices, and batteries that are at the end of their useful life to the point of sale or public collection points that have been set up for this purpose. Legislation in the country of use stipulate the specific requirements regarding disposal. The symbol on the product, the user guide or the packaging indicates this legal requirement.

Information on warranty
The warranty period starts when the device is purchased. The purchase receipt serves as proof of this date.

Keep these documents in a safe place. Our warranty is based on our warranty conditions valid at the time of purchase.
