Before using the appliance, please read the instructions carefully and keep them for future reference.

Safety precautions

When using the appliance, please take the following precautions:

• Follow the instructions accordingly.
• Be mindful of your personal safety and property.
• Take the basic precautions prescribed to minimize the risk of fire and electric shock and other injuries.

Warnings

• Plug the unit into the power socket correctly to avoid malfunction and/or fire.
• Do not use the appliance in a high-temperature environment, as this may cause malfunction and/or fire.
• Do not touch the appliance or plug with wet hands, as this may cause an electric shock or short circuit.
• Do not use the appliance if it is physically damaged.
• Do not use the appliance for any purposes other than those specified in these operating instructions, as this may cause malfunction and/or fire.
• Do not use the appliance in areas where it could fall or be exposed to water.
• Keep the appliance out of reach of children.
• Misuse of UV-C bulbs can cause eye or skin damage.
• Do not use the appliance to treat diseases.
• Do not use the appliance in the vicinity of flammable materials or gases.
• Install the bulb in the manner prescribed.
• Use the appliance with its top cover at all times.
• Before using the appliance, make sure it has not been physically damaged, that the indicator is securely in place, and that the temperature is normal.
• Do not put the appliance in water or in contact with water, as this may cause an electric shock or short circuit.
• Avoid dropping or hitting the appliance, as this may cause it to malfunction.
• The appliance is for indoor usage only.
• Be sure to unplug the appliance before performing maintenance.
• The appliance should be operated at 230 V / 50 Hz only.
• Do not insert any objects into the opening of the appliance or block its airflow.
• Replace the UV-C bulb with a new bulb when it expires.
• Make sure the replacement bulb is identical to the original (3 W / 11 V / 200 nm – 400 nm / E17 bulb base).

Operating the appliance

1. Plug the appliance into a 230 V AC – 50 Hz socket. It will then start working automatically.
2. For best results, we would suggest using the appliance for a maximum of 2 hours at a time in a regular 10-square-meter room.
3. When moving the appliance, be sure to plug and unplug it safely.
4. Please follow the same procedure when changing the bulb.

Usage tip
The usage life of a UV-C bulb is 5000 hours. We would suggest replacing the UV-C bulb approximately every 6 months, depending on usage. If the bulb should change significantly in brightness or color, we would suggest replacing it.

The fan is on but unlit| This means the UV-C bulb has burned out. Replace the bulb by following the procedure below.

Procedure for replacing UV-C bulb

1. Unplug the appliance from the power socket.
2. Unscrew the protective cover by turning it counterclockwise.
3. Unscrew the UV-C bulb by turning it counterclockwise.
4. Tighten the new UV-C bulb by turning it clockwise.
5. Tighten the protective cover by turning it clockwise.

N.B.: Certain parameters of the appliance may be optimized or changed without prior notice for the benefit of consumers.

WARNING: This appliance contains a UV emitter. Do not stare at the light source!
This appliance may be used by children aged 8 years and older, as well as by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or a lack of experience and knowledge,  provided that they use the appliance with supervision, or on condition that they have received instructions on safe usage and they understand the hazards involved.

Children should not play with or clean the appliance, or perform maintenance on it without supervision.

This marking indicates that this appliance should not be disposed of together with other household waste anywhere in the EU. To prevent possible harm to the environment or  human health from uncontrolled waste disposal, recycle it responsibly to promote the sustainable reuse of material resources. To return your used device, please use the return  and collection systems or contact the retailer from whom it was purchased so that they can dispose of it in an environmentally friendly manner.
