 Prepare brace

  • Unfasten straps, remove front panel, and open foot flaps and toe cover.
  • Put on stocking.

 Choose an insole

The walker comes with two insoles, a pink Plastazote Insole (comes placed in walker) and an Impax Grid Insole (inside accessory bag). The Impax Grid Insole allows for removal of pre-cut foam cubes for additional pressure relief. To use the Impax Grid Insole, locate and remove the pre-cut foam cubes from the bottom of the pad around the wound site/s (Fig. 1). Remove the pink Plastazote Insole in the walker and replace with the Impax Grid Insole (pink side down). Blue side of Impax Grid Insole should be against plantar side of foot.

Apply brace

  •  While sitting, place leg in brace and place foot flat on insole with heel in back of brace (Fig. 2).
  • Smooth wrinkles in stocking and aircells.
  • Wrap foot flaps over foot and toe cover around toes.
  • Replace front panel: the lower part inside brace, upper part outside brace (Fig. 3a).
  • Secure straps from bottom to top until snug (Fig. 3b).

Inflate aircells with Hand Bulb

  • Look at Valve Order for appropriate leg and location of valve number one (Fig. 4).
  • Firmly insert white tip of clear air tube into valve one.
  • Squeeze Hand Bulb until the bottom edge of black Pressure Gauge indicator is above the number 30 (Fig. 5).
  • Leave air tube in valve and stop squeezing Hand Bulb — the Pressure Gauge indicator will slowly fall.
  • Pull air tube out of valve when the bottom edge of the indicator falls within the correct pressure (Fig. 5).
  • Repeat for valves two, and three.
Be sure to check aircell compression with Pressure Gauge whenever brace is adjusted and/or straps are tightened or loosened.

Deflate aircells before removing brace

To deflate, firmly insert black tip of Hand Bulb marked “deflate” in valve and squeeze bulb.
