Using the Thermometer

How do I Switch from °F to °C?

Press the SCAN button for about 8 seconds when the machine is In Off status, and it will display °C or °F as the measurement unit. If this is not your preferred unit, please press the SCAN button again.

Measurement of the Human Body Temperature

  • Move the Slide Switch upward to enter the Human Body Temperature measuring mode.

  • Make sure the device is in on status. If not, press the On/Off button.

  • The last reading from the Memory and the M icon will be displayed for two seconds.

  • After a short beep and the °F (°C) icon getting into twinkling mode, the device is ready to take measurement.

  • To start the measurement, aim the thermometer at the center of the Forehead no more than 2″ away. If there is hair, sweat or dust on the forehead, please remove the object and wipe clean the forehead – in order to improve the measuring accuracy.

  • Press the SCAN button for two seconds and release.

  • You will hear a long beep – which means the result is ready. You can now read the temperature reading on the screen, as shown below.

Measurement of the Object Temperature

  • Move the Slide Switch downward to enter the Object Temperature measuring mode.
  • Repeat the steps in the previous section.

Attention

  • Please make sure the person under-test and the thermometer are situated in the stable room temperature for at least 30 minutes before taking measurement.
  • Please wait enough time after nursing, before taking temperature measurement on young kids.
  • Never use the thermometer in the high temperature environment.
  • Do not eat or drink before or during the measurement.
  • Do not move during the measurement.
  • Please clean the scan area and remove dust, hair or moisture before using the thermometer.
  • Please do not move or take away the thermometer before hearing the long beeping sound at the end of measurement.
  • If the sensing head is found to be dirty, please use alcohol cotton to wipe it carefully.
  • For better comparison on the results, please try to take measurement in the same area.
  • When taking measurement on a baby, please make sure the baby under-test has been situated in the environment for a long period of time. The large deviation of the room temperature has been prove to affect the reading result on the baby.
  • Conditions for not using a no contact IR thermometer:
    • Measurement results show unexpected high or low data.
    • Newborn baby younger than 100 days.
    • Children under 3 years old who have a defective immune system or have history of contracting serious high fever.:

Using the Memory Function

The thermometer can automatically memorize 30 measurement values. Please use the following sequence to read records saved in the memory.

  • ln the Off status, press the SCAN button for about 3 seconds. The M icon will start to flash on the display and the device is in the memory reading mode.

  • Press the SCAN button again, “1” will appear on the screen. Immediately after the “1” showing, the measured record at the 1st memory slot will be displayed on the screen while the M icon keeps flashing. Please note that the most recent record is stored in the 1st memory slot.

  • After the showing of the 1st record, press SCAN button again to show the 2nd record. Repeat the action to have all 30 records in the memory displayed.

  • After the showing of the 30th record, press SCAN button again will make the device to go back and display the 1st record in the memory.

Cleaning, Storage and maintenance of the Device

Clean the thermometer case and the sensing head with a cotton cloth wetted with 70% Isopropyl Alcohol. Please make sure not to let the liquid getting into the inner part of the product. It is recommended that the thermometer is cleaned following the above method every time after the usage.

Do not use abrasive cleaning agent, diluent or gas to clean. Do not immerse the thermometer in water or other liquid.

Be careful not to scratch the LCD surface during usage or cleaning. If anticipating a long period of idle time, please remove the battery from the device, to avoid the potential battery leakage to damage the thermometer.

Battery Related Information

  • Use only high-quality batteries. (2pcs AAA batteries)
  • Never mix old and new batteries or batteries made by different manufacturers.
  • Immediately remove exhausted batteries.
  • If you do not intend to use the device for a longer period of time, remove batteries to prevent possible battery leakage to damage the thermometer.
  • Please help to protect the environment: do not dispose batteries in household waste! Dispose in designated collection points or municipal collection / recycling centers.
  • This symbol on products and / or accompanying documents means that products must not be mixed with regular household waste.
  • When this battery low symbol displayed on the screen, it is time to replace batteries. The replacing procedure is shown as below. Slide the battery cover off the thermometer, insert new equivalent batteries and carefully reapply the battery cover.
