VAPOTHERM Precision Flow Disposable Patient Circuit
INTENDED USE: The Precision Flow Aerosol Disposable Patient Circuit is intended to facilitate the connection between Vapotherm Hi-VNI™ Technology and a vibrating mesh nebulizer.
INSTALLATION INTO PRECISION FLOW
- Step 1: Open door to expose the docking station.
- Step 2: Hold disposable patient circuit by its handle, with the delivery tube downward as shown.
- Step 3: Slide disposable patient circuit downward into the docking station until it stops.
- Step 4: Press down firmly so there is no gap between the bottom of the Disposable Water Path and the docking station floor.
- Step 5: Close door.
- Note: If the door does not close easily, check that the cartridge is installed correctly and the disposable water path is fully inserted into the docking station.
- Step 6: To connect the sterile water supply, remove spike cap and disinfect spike with 70-90% isopropyl alcohol or equivalent. Firmly insert spike into spike port of the sterile water supply, avoiding direct hand contact. Unclamp the water inlet tube so that water (>200 ml) flows into the disposable water path and the “Water Out” alarm icon clears.
Note: Wait approximately 90 seconds (or 180 seconds if using a hard water bottle) before pressing the Run/Standby button.
CAUTION: Do not remove the disposable patient circuit while the unit is operating.
INSTALLATION OF THE NEBULIZER
- Step 1: Ensure the Precision Flow is in standby.
- Step 2: Remove the cap from the medication mixing chamber port and discard.
- Step 3: Install the vibrating mesh nebulizer into the medication mixing chamber port.
- Step 4: Route the controller cable behind the water inlet tube.
- Step 5 : If delivering continuous aerosol medication, connect the syringe pump tubing to the nebulizer. Route the tubing behind the water inlet tube with
the controller cable.
DELIVERY OF AEROSOL MEDICATION
Refer to the appropriate vibrating mesh nebulizer Instructions for Use for aerosol nebulization instructions. Refer to the Precision Flow instructions for Use for operation of the Precision Flow®.
- Step 6: Add medication directly to the nebulizer cup or via the syringe pump tube.
- Step 7: Carefully close the door to avoid pinching the controller cable or the syringe pump tube.
TO EMPTY THE CONDENSATE BOTTLE
Even when aerosol medication is not being delivered, the condensate bottle must be emptied regularly.
- Step 1: Clamp the condensate bottle tubing.
- Step 2: Remove the bottle and empty.
- Step 3: Return the bottle to the circuit and screw into place until tight.
- Step 4: Unclamp the condensate bottle.
WARNING: Failure to drain condensate or to unclamp the condensate bottle tubing may result in condensate delivery to the patient.
