INSTALLATION
Speaker
No wiring is necessary. Just plug the Speaker into an easily accessible power
outlet and switch the power outlet on.
Doorbell
The Doorbell is powered by one “A23” battery which comes preinstalled.
To activate the battery, simply pull the plastic tab out from the side of the
Doorbell unit.
Replacing the Battery
Battery replacement is necessary as soon as the LED indicator stops lighting
up when the Doorbell button is pressed. To replace the battery, insert a small
flathead screwdriver into the small notch at the base and lift the front cover
off, as shown on the right. Replace with a battery of the same type (A23)
only. Make sure the new battery is installed according to the polarity
markings (+ and -) shown in the battery holder.
Mounting the Doorbell
You can mount the Doorbell using the supplied double-sided adhesive tape or screws.
- For tape mounting, make sure the surface is dry, smooth and free of dust and other substances that could affect adhesion.
- For screw mounting, open the Doorbell with a screwdriver and separate the front cover from the rear cover (as previously described in “Replacing the Battery”). With the “UP” arrow pointing up, penetrate the two standby holes on the rear cover with two screws, and screw the rear cover to the mounting surface. Clip the front cover back onto the mounted rear cover. Make sure the rubber seal around the edge of the rear cover is seated properly.
Note: Avoid mounting the Doorbell on metal surfaces, including UPVC doorframes, as this may reduce the transmission range.
MELODY SELECTION & PAIRING
You can personalize the melody played on the Speaker when the Doorbell button is pressed. To select a melody on the Speaker and pair it with the Doorbell:
- Press the Previous or Next Melody Select button repeatedly on the Speaker to cycle through the available sounds (including your recorded custom melody. To learn how to record your custom melody, see “Recording your Custom Melody”). Stop when you hear something you like.
- Press and hold the Volume button on the Speaker for about 5 seconds, until a quick tone is heard and the LED indicator starts blinking. The Speaker is now in pairing mode.
- Within 5 seconds, press the Doorbell button. The Speaker will confirm pairing by playing the selected melody with the LED indicator blinking while the melody is playing. If pairing is not completed within 5 seconds, a quick tone is heard and the LED indicator goes off. In this case, you will need to repeat steps 2-3 to try pairing again.
- At any time, you can change the melody. Simply repeat the steps above each time you want another melody selected.
RECORDING YOUR CUSTOM MELODY
You have the option of recording your own custom melody (up to 40 seconds long) with your favourite tune on the Speaker directly from your mobile device or computer.
- Plug one end of the supplied 3.5mm audio cable into the AUX jack on the Speaker and the opposite end into the headphone jack on your mobile device or computer.
- Open your favourite music app on your connected device. Find the track that you want to record and get it ready (for example, skip to your favourite parts of the track) for playback. When music is played, you will be able to hear it through the Speaker. Use the Volume buttons on your connected device to directly control the volume (recording level) of the music coming through the Speaker.
- To start recording your custom melody, press any button on the Speaker once. The Speaker will beep and its LED indicator will turn solid blue indicating the Speaker is recording now.
- Now start playback of the track on your connected device.
- The Speaker automatically stops recording at 40 seconds or you can stop recording at any time before that by pressing the “Pause” button in the music app. The Speaker will double-beep to indicate it has stopped recording and then replay the music recorded from your connected device automatically. If the recording ended automatically, you need to stop music playback on your connected device so that you can listen to the recording through the Speaker.
- If you want to re-record your custom melody, simply repeat steps 3-5.
- Once you are done recording your custom melody, unplug the audio cable from the Speaker and connected device.
- To select your custom melody on the Speaker and pair it with the Doorbell, follow the steps described in “Melody Selection and Pairing”.
ADJUSTING THE SPEAKER VOLUME
The volume of the Speaker is adjustable. Simply press the Volume button until the desired volume level is obtained. You will hear the difference in volume each time the Volume button is pressed.
RESETTING THE SPEAKER
You can reset the pairing information on the Speaker. Simply press and hold the Next Melody Select button on the Speaker until a quick tone is heard and the LED indicator blinks once.
