INSTALLING BATTERIES

SPEAKER UNIT

  • The Speaker unit requires 3 x AA batteries (not included) to operate. For reliable, long-lasting performance, use fresh, high quality alkaline batteries only.
  • To install them, open the battery compartment cover on the rear of the Speaker to reveal the battery compartment.
  • The polarity of batteries is indicated by the markings (+ and -) inside the battery compartment.
  • Replacement of the batteries are necessary as soon as the LED indicator stays solid blue. This indicates the battery level of the Speaker is low.

DOORBELL UNIT

WARNING! THIS PRODUCT CONTAINS A BUTTON OR COIN CELL BATTERY. KEEP BATTERY OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. If swallowed, a button or coin cell battery can cause internal chemical burns in as little as two hours and lead to death. Disposed of used battery immediately. If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product. If you think the battery might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.

Australia: If you think the battery might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, immediately call the 24-hour Poisons Information Centre on 131 126 for fast, expert advice and go straight to the nearest hospital emergency room.

  • The Doorbell unit is powered by one “CR2032” lithium battery which comes preinstalled.
  • To activate the battery, gently pull the plastic tab on the back of the Doorbell unit to separate the back cover, then remove the plastic tab from under the battery. Clip the back cover back onto the Doorbell unit, making sure the rubber seal is fitted properly to ensure the unit remains water-resistant.
  • Replacement of the battery is necessary as soon as the LED indicator stops flashing when the Doorbell button is pressed. To replace the battery, insert a small flat-head screwdriver into the small notch at the base and lift the back cover off. Replace with a battery of the same type (CR2032).

Operating Guide

PAIRING THE DOORBELL WITH THE SPEAKER

  1. Press and hold the Chime Select button on the Speaker unit until a “Ding-Dong” sound is heard. The Speaker is now in pairing mode for 30 seconds.
  2. Press the Doorbell button. The Speaker will confirm pairing by playing the chime. See below for instructions on setting the Speaker volume and chime.

Note: A maximum of 20 Doorbell units can be paired to one Speaker unit.

SETTING THE SPEAKER VOLUME AND CHIME

  • To adjust the volume, press the Volume button on the Speaker unit.
Four volume levels, including mute (LED blinking only), are available. You will hear the difference in volume each time the Volume button is pressed.

  • To change the chime, press the Chime Select button on the Speaker unit.
The Speaker will play the next tune. Keep pressing the button until you hear a tune you like. There are 38 tunes to choose from. You do not need to confirm your selection. The tune playing is the chime selected and the one that will be heard when the Doorbell is pressed.

RESETTING THE SPEAKER
Press and hold the Volume button on the Speaker unit until a “Ding-Dong” sound is heard. This clears the pairing information. You will need to pair the Doorbell unit again.

MOUNTING THE DOORBELL UNIT
The Doorbell unit is mounted by sticking it to a wall using the included adhesive strip.

  • Peel off one side of the adhesive strip and attach it to the rear of the backing plate, ensuring none of it is visible from the front.
  • Find the area you want to mount the Doorbell unit. Flat, smooth surfaces are ideal. Make sure they are clean and dry before mounting.
  • Avoid mounting the Doorbell unit on metal surfaces, including UPVC doorframes, as this may reduce the transmission range.
  • Peel off the other side of the adhesive strip and press the Doorbell unit against the mounting surface for 60 seconds.

MOUNTING THE SPEAKER UNIT
There is no requirement to mount the Speaker unit. You may find it more convenient to place it on a shelf or table. The operating distance between the Speaker and Doorbell is up to 50m/165ft but the range may vary depending on local conditions.

If you would like to mount the Speaker, simply attach the two screws to a wall. Place them level to each other, about 24mm / 15/16” apart. Depending on the surface, you may need to drill guide holes and/or use masonry plugs or dry wall anchors.

Do not insert the screws all the way. Leave about 7mm / ¼” protruding from the wall. Then place the unit onto the screws, ensuring the heads of the screws pass through the two mounting holes on the rear of the unit. You can then shift the unit downwards to ensure it sits on the screws firmly.

WARNING: When fitting the screws into the wall, make sure you are not inserting them anywhere near electrical wires, including wires that may be behind the wall. If you are unsure at all, please get a professional to check first and install the screws for you.
