Using HID Keyboard or USB Serial Mode

The HID keyboard allows you to use your SKXPro as a keyboard.
This option is only available when SKXPro is set to USB HID Mode. To put the SKXPro into USB HID mode, please scan the QR code below:

Powering the XCover Pro On/Off

The SKXPro does not have its own battery but rather uses power from the XCover Pro’s battery. The SKXPro works only when the XCover Pro is mounted into SKXPro Scanning Sled.

Power On the XCover Pro: Press and hold the SIDE key for a few seconds.
Power Off XCover Pro : Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN and SIDE keys simultaneously. Alternatively, open the notification panel and tap .

Basic Operation

1.  Aim the SKXPro toward the barcode and press either of the SCAN buttons located on each side of the device. You can scan the barcode from any direction.
2. A successful scan will sound 1 beep. An unsuccessful scan will sound 2 beeps.

Additionally, you can select between the SKXPro buzzer or an XCover Pro generated tone/beep within the KTSync SKXPro app when in USB serial mode. (Setting = Feedback Tone Generator)
The XCover Pro tone/beep volume can be adjusted by the media volume control setting on the XCover Pro. (Phone Settings = Sounds and Vibration Volume Media)

USB Interfaces

Your SKXPro is equipped with 2 USB Type-C ports.
The first port is located on the inside of the SKXPro and provides a USB connection to the XCover Pro. The second port is located on the outside of the SKXPro and is used to access the SKXPro. Use this port if you want to connect the XCover Pro to a PC by scanning the special QR code below:

If you unplug the cable, the XCover Pro connects to the SKXPro back.

Connectivity Options

The default communication method for the SKXPro is HID. If you prefer to use the SKXPro in USB serial mode, please refer to the barcodes in the next panel.
Allows one-way USB communication. The SKXPro only transmits data to the XCover Pro.
Allows two-way USB communication. The SKXPro transmits data to the XCover Pro Application, and the XCover Pro Application can transmit data/control back to the SKXPro.
HID inputs data directly into an application, while Serial requires KTSync or a custom application developed using the KOAMTAC SDK to input data into an application.

SKXPro Software & SDK

KTSync SKXPro is a program that communicates with the SKXPro via USB serial connection. It enables users to read and store data, supports keyboard wedging, and also contains configuration options for the SKXPro. Download the KTSync SKXPro app from the Google Play Store.
The Software Development Kit (SDK) is the perfect solution for creating a custom application to collect data utilizing your SKXPro. The KOAMTAC SDK covers all major development platforms: Android, iOS, Tizen, Windows, Xamarin, and Cordova. Developers may take advantage of the complimentary SDK and enjoy the full benefits of the KOAMTAC Developer Program. Using KTSync SKXPro

You can use KTSync SKXPro to utilize your SKXPro alone or with a native application (only in USB serial mode). The KTSync SKXPro app can be found on the Google Play Store.

1. Open the application and the SKXPro will be recognized and automatically connected.
2. KTSync SKXPro will automatically detect the firmware version, and if outdated, the firmware will be updated.
3. Scan any barcode with the SKXPro and the barcode data will populate into the KTSync internal viewer.
4. Or, you can set up SKXPro as a keyboard:
   a) With the KTSync SKXPro app running in the background, navigate the XCover Pro to (Settings General management Language and input On-screen keyboard Manage keyboards)
   b) Tap on “SKXPro Keyboard” to enable it.
   c) Make “SKXPro Keyboard” the default keyboard.
   d) Scan any barcode with the SKXPro and the barcode data will populate into the text field of the app you’re using.
