Overview

Connect this Bluetooth receiver to a receiver or preamp in order to wirelessly stream content from any Bluetooth enabled transmitter. This receiver is a high fidelity component that uses Qualcomm® aptX™audio, AAC streaming codecs, and an audiophile grade DAC to allow for all the conveniences of Bluetooth without sacrificing performance.

Unlike most Bluetooth receivers, this receiver provides extended range, superior SNR, superior output voltage, and an optical output.

Quick Setup

The following instructions will help you connect this receiver to your music system, as well as pair with your tablet, smartphone, or computer.

Step 1: Connect either a Stereo RCA or Digital Optical audio cable from this receiver’s rear panel to your music system’s audio input.

Step 2: Connect the power adapter to the BTR via the included USB cable and plug the power adapter into an AC outlet.

The receiver will automatically go into pair mode. The LED light will start flashing to indicate the unit is now ready to be paired.

Step 3: Turn ON Bluetooth on your transmitter and go to Bluetooth preferences.

Step 4: Scan listed Bluetooth devices and select “BTR-250D” to pair and connect. The LED indicator should turn solid.

Step 5: Make sure your Hi-Fi audio system is turned on and the proper input source is selected.

Step 6: The music on your smart device will now play through your audio system!

Repeat Steps 3 to 6 to add additional devices. The receiver can connect to one smart device at a time, but is capable of remember ing up to 8 devices. Press and hold the Power /Pair button until the indicator starts flashing once to disconnect the receiver from a paired device and put it back into pairing mode.

Note: The BTR will stay in pairing mode for 2 minutes; after 2 minutes the BTR will go into standby. To put the BTR back into pairing mode, simply press the Power/Pair button once.

How to power ON/OFF the receiver without unplugging:

To power off: Press and hold the Power/Pair button for about 2-3 seconds until the indicator no longer illuminates. To Power on: Simple press the Power / Pair button once.

How to Clear the pairing list:

Turn the Bluetooth receiver off, then press and hold the Power/Pair button for roughly 10 seconds until the LED flashes blue once.

Troubleshooting

The receiver is connected but the LED indicator does not light up.

Confirm that the power adapter is connected to the receiver with the included USB cable and plugged into a functioning AC outlet.

My device does not pair with the receiver.

Ensure your transmitter has ‘Bluetooth’ set to ‘ON’. Make sure that the LED indicator is blinking and your device is within the receiver’s wireless range of 30 meters (100 feet).

The LED indicator is solid, but I cannot connect my device.

  1. Check if other transmitters are connected. If so, either disconnect or turn their ‘Bluetooth’ ‘OFF’; then try reconnecting.
  2. Try unpairing and repairing your device to the receiver.
  3. Power cycle the receiver by disconnecting and reconnecting the power cable.

The LED indicator is solid and my device is connected, but there is no audio output.

  1. Ensure that the receiver’s output is correctly connected to your audio system.
  2. Check whether the input is correctly selected on your audio system (analog audio or digital optical input).
  3. Verify the volume levels on your transmitter (phone/computer) and the player (app).
  4. Try unpairing and repairing your transmitter to the BTR.
  5. . Power cycle the BTR by disconnecting and reconnecting the power cable.

The volume output level from the receiver is Low.

  1. Verify the volume levels on the transmitter (phone/computer) and on the player (application).
  2. Check the volume levels on your powered speakers or stereo system

The sound quality is poor and/ or the audio is cutting out.

  1. Move your transmitter or receiver away from cordless phones, routers, microwave ovens, or other Bluetooth devices.
  2. Try moving your transmitter closer to the receiver.
  3. Try another location.
  4. Turn off your transmitter’s Wi-Fi.
  5. Try unpairing and repairing your device to the receiver.
  6. Power cycle the receiver by disconnecting and reconnecting the power cable.
  7. Check that your device’s OS is updated to the latest version.

Only one channel plays music.

  1. Check the cables between the receiver and your stereo system.
  2. Check your transmitter and audio system’s controls to ensure that the audio balance is centered.
