SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

This appliance may be used by children from the age of 16 and up, and also by persons with a physical or sensorly limitation, as well as mentally limited persons or persons with a lack of experience and knowledge. But only on the condition that these persons have received the necessary instructions on how to use this appliance in a safe way and know the dangers that can occur by using this appliance.

Children cannot be allowed to play with the appliance.
Maintenance and cleaning of the appliance may not be done by children, unless they are older than 16 years old and are under supervision. Keep the appliance out of reach of children younger than 16 years old.

This appliance is suitable to be used in a household environment and in similar surroundings such as:

  • Kitchen for personnel of shops, offices or other similar professional surroundings
  • Farms
  • Hotel or motel rooms and other surroundings with a residential character
  • Guest rooms or similar

Attention: This appliance cannot be used with an external timer or a separate remote control.

 The appliance can become hot during use. Keep the power cord away from hot parts and don’t cover the appliance.

  • Read all instructions before use.

  • Before use, check if the voltage stated on the appliance corresponds with the voltage of the power net at your home.

  • Do not let the cord hang on a hot surface or on the edge of a table or counter top.

  • Never use the appliance when the cord or plug is damaged, after malfunction or when the appliance itself is damaged. In that case, take the appliance to the nearest qualified service center for check-up and repair.

  • Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is used near or by children.

  • The use of accessories that are not recommended or sold by the manufacturer can cause fire, electrical shock or injuries.

  • Unplug the appliance when it is not in use, before assembling or disassembling any parts and before cleaning the appliance. Put all buttons and knobs into the ‘off’ position and unplug the appliance by grasping the plug. Never unplug by pulling the cord.

  • Do not leave a working appliance unattended.

  • Never place this appliance near a gas stove or electrical stove or in a place where it may come into contact with a warm appliance.

  • Do not use the appliance outdoors.

  • Only use the appliance for its intended use.

  • Always use the appliance on a steady, dry and level surface.

  • Only use the appliance for domestic use. The manufacturer can not be held responsible for accidents that result from improper use of the appliance or not following the instructions described in this manual.

  •  All repairs should be carried out by the manufacturer or its aftersales service.

  • Never immerse the appliance, the cord or the plug in water or any other liquid.

  • Make sure that children do not touch the cord or appliance.

  • Keep the cord away from sharp edges and hot parts or other heat sources.

  • Before use, remove all packaging materials and any promotional stickers.

  • The device may only be used with the supplied base.

  • Never use this device to heat up coffee, tea, alcohol or other liquids of any kind except for water.

  • The device works with an earthed plug, be sure to have an earthed socket at home when using this device.

  • Make sure you have a mug or cup below the spout before pressing the on/off switch.

  • Children must be watched, to prevent them from playing with this device.

  • Do not touch any of the hot parts of this device.
    Always use the handle or buttons.

  • The base may never be used for anything but its intended use as part of this device.

  • To avoid fire, electrocution or other injuries, never immerse the cord or the device itself in water or another liquid.

  • Try to avoid touching the hot steam which is released when the water is boiling or has just been boiled.

  • Never place this device on or near your cooker.

  • Never place this device in a warm oven.

  • Never use this device when it’s empty, to prevent damage to the heating elements.

BEFORE THE FIRST USE

Before using the electric tea kettle for the first time, we advise you to clean the kettle first by boiling two cups of water. Remove the remaining water from the water tank.
Clean the device. Now add fresh water in the kettle.

Note: the max capacity of the device is 2 l.

USE

  1. To fill the kettle with water, take it off of the base. Then open the lid of the water tank by pressing on the button.

  2. Fill the water tank with your desired quantity and close the lid again.

  3. Pay attention that you draw enough water so that the water level lies between the MIN & MAX on the water tank. If you do not do this, the device will shut off before the water is boiled.
    NOTE: Make sure the lid is closed properly before plugging the cord into the socket.

  4. Place the kettle on the base.

  5. Place a cup on the drip tray and make sure it’s located right below the spout.
    NOTE: the used cup must be 50 ml bigger than the desired amount of water. Also make sure the cup is in the right spot before turning the device on.

  6. Set the control button to the desired amount of water. The smallest amount of water is 150 ml, the biggest is 300 ml. Make sure the cup is 50 ml bigger than the desired amount of water.

  7. Plug the cord into the power socket and turn the device on using the on/off switch.
    The switch and the water tank will light up and the water will start  to boil.
    NOTE: Make sure the cord is not blocked in any way and the lid is properly closed.

  8. After about 45 seconds, the water will boil, the device will turn off automatically and one cup of steaming hot water will pour out of the spout. Wait until all the water runs through the spout before removing the cup from the drip tray. You can stop the boilinprocess at any time by pressing the stop button. The on switch will automatically switch off. NOTE: the water running through the spout is boiling warm, never touch it to prevent burn wounds from forming.

DRY BOIL PROTECTION

  • Always turn off the device and remove the plug from the socket. Also let the device cool down for a while before cleaning it.
  • Never immerse the kettle, base or plug in water or any other kind of liquid.
  • Clean the outside of the device with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent. Never use a biting cleanser.
  • attention: never use chemicals, steel, wood or rough cleaning devices to clean the outside of the device, as this could damage the finish.
  • When you are not using the device, you can store away the cord and plug below the base.

EMPTYING THE KETTLE

When the device is fully cooled, remove the plug from the socket.
Open up the water tank using the button.
Keep the kettle above your sink.

  • Pour the water out of your water tank.
  • Straighten your kettle again and leave it for a few moments to let the remaining water run out of the spout.
  • When you’ve not been using your kettle for a longer period, we advise you to boil a couple of cups of warm water before using it for real.

DESCALING

To have your kettle function properly, we’d advise you to descale it every three months.

  1. Fill the kettle till the max water level. Place an empty cup under the spout on the drip tray. Turn the device on and let the water run into the cup.
  2. Add a descaler to the cup.
  3. Pour the contents of the cup back into the water tank and close the lid.
  4. Place the empty cup back below the spout and turn the device on.
  5. Let the water run though into the cup.
  6. Remove the water from the cup.
  7. Repeat steps 4 until 6 until the water level reaches the min water level.
  8. Open the lid and remove all remaining water from the water tank.
  9. Clean the water tank by filling it with fresh water and removing it afterwards.
  10. Fill the water tank until the max water level. Place an empty cup of water below the spout. Turn the device on let the boiling water run into the cup.
  11. Remove the water from the cup.
  12. Repeat steps 10 to 11 until you reach the min water level.
  13. Remove the remaining water.
  14. Now you can fill the water tank again with clean, fresh water. Your device is ready to be used again.

This appliance has a two year warranty period. During this period the manufacturer is responsible for any failures that are the direct result of construction failure. When these failures occur the appliance will be repaired or replaced if necessary. The warranty will not be valid when the damage to the appliance is caused by wrong use, not following the instructions or repairs executed by a third party. The guarantee is issued with the original till receipt. All parts, which are subject to wear, are excluded from the warranty.
If your device breaks down within the 2-year warranty period, you can return the device together with your receipt to the shop where you purchased it.
