Safety Precautions

The following safety precautions will guide you through safe and correct use of the product to prevent unexpected hazards and damage. Please read the instructions and precautions carefully and use the product correctly.
This product is not intended for use by persons who lack physical, sensory, or mental abilities or who lack experience and knowledge of how to use the product safely without supervision or instruction (including children).

Installation

  • Check if there are any damages before installing hood.

  • Comply with the regulations on air emission.

  • The distance between the cooktop and the range hood filter has to be at least 65cm.

  • Make sure that the walls and ceiling are sturdy enough to hold the weight of the hood before installing.

  • Installation should be done with at least 2 authorized professionals/technicians.

  • When installing, make sure to wear work gloves and use all the given screws and anchors for mounting.

  • Make sure not to damage any electrical cables during drilling.

  • Install exhaust & flexible duct correctly to prevent any foreign liquids from flowing in.
    It may cause an electric shock.

  • Make sure the outlet is 220V and grounded.

  • Make sure the power cords are not damaged.

  • Do not touch power plug with wet hands.
    It may cause a fire or an electric shock by short circuit.

  • Do not connect the appliance to the mains electricity supply with an extension cord.

  • Remove the protective film after installation.

Use

  • Make sure to unplug the power cord before cleaning. (Should always wear work gloves.)

  • Do not use inflammables such as paint thinner and benzene for cleaning.
    It may cause an explosion.

  • Do not attempt to put fingers inside the hood or detach the filter during operation.
    It may cause serious injuries or burn.

  • Failure to follow the cleaning instructions in the user’s manual may result in physical injuries or fire.

  • Make sure the power plug is clean.
    It may cause an electric shock.

  • Hood must be operated for cooking.
    It may damage the product and shorten it’s life.

  • If oil catches on fire, turn off the gas and unplug the power cord immediately.
    It may cause the fire to spread.

  • Do not get too close to the appliance while cooking. It may cause physical injuries such as scratches or burn.

  • Accessible parts may be heated when used with cooking devices.

  • Do not attempt to remove the filter during or right after the operation.
    It may cause physical injuries.

  • If gas leaks, do not touch anything electrical and immediately aerate the space.
    It may cause a fire or burn.

  • Stop the operation when there is a power outage and resume once the power is restored.
    It may cause a fire or an electric shock.

  • Do not attempt to light up any other substances on fire under the hood.
    It may cause a fire.

  • Do not attempt to touch any electric parts.
    It may cause an electric shock.

  • Do not touch the appliance with wet parts of body. It may cause an electric shock.

  • Do not put any weight (bottles, cans, etc.) on the product.

  • Any assembly or installation must be carried out by authorized technicians.
    It may cause serious injuries or an electric shock.

  • Children are not allowed to tamper or play with the appliance.
    It may cause serious injuries.

  • Do not attempt to excessively pull or bend the power cord.
    It may cause a fire or an electric shock.

Cleaning Method

Clean every 3 months for optimal performance with longer life span.

Make sure to unplug the power cord before cleaning.

Filter Attachment & Detachment
The filter is made of aluminum. This product can last a long time if it is well-managed. Remove the filter by pulling the release handle down. Make sure the filter is completely dry before placing it back.Navien RGC130-06PA Range

Leave the filter in the water that is mixed with a neutral detergent (dish soap) for 10 minutes and rinse it under water.

Do not leave the filter in for too long. It may discolor the filter.Navien

CAUTION
Wipe with a damp soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge using liquid detergent, then rinse with clean water and wipe the surface dry to avoid water marks. Using other tools or detergents may result in rust or stains on the surface.

Installation Guide

Hood Installation

CAUTION
Failure to follow the instructions below when you install the screws, brackets, or fixtures may cause electrical hazards.

User may need to purchase extra materials for installation depending on the type and condition of the wall.

  1. Place the installation template to the wall keeping the distance between the bottom of the hood and the cookware base at least 65cm.Navien RGC130-06PA Range Hood fig7
  2. Drill holes (Ø6) on the installation template as indicated and insert the anchors. Place the installation bracket in the designated spot and fix the bracket onto the wall using screw3.Navien RGC130-06PA Range Hood fig7
  3. Install the body of the hood to the installation bracket and mount the two together using screw2Navien RGC130-06PA Range Hood fig5
  4. Determine the place of the duct cover and drill holes (Ø6). Then, insert the anchors.Navien RGC130-06PA Range Hood fig6
  5. Place the duct cover fixture aligned with the drilled holes and mount it using screw3.Navien RGC130-06PA Range Hood fig7
  6. Fix the flexible duct using cable ties and complete the electrical wiring. Turn the appliance on to check if the hood is working well.Navien RGC130-06PA Range Hood fig8
  7. Measure the length needed for the duct cover and mount the upper duct cover to the duct fixture using 2 of the screw1. Place the lower duct cover aligned with the upper duct cover and mount it to the hood using 4 of the screw1.Navien RGC130-06PA Range Hood fig9

Corner Protector Attachment

Remove the film from the double-sided tape on the provided corner protectors, and then attach the protectors to each front corner of the hood.Navien

CAUTION
Be sure to attach the corner protectors to prevent injuries to your hands or head while using the hood.

Troubleshooting

  • Check if the power cord is plugged in.
  • Make sure the operational and indicated voltage match.
  • Check if the electric fuse is disconnected.

Exhaust Performance is Deteriorated.

  • Are there any foreign substances blocking the inlet?

  • Check if the duct is clogged.

Abnormal Noise.

  • Check if the hood is installed properly.
  • Check if the duct of the inlet is clogged.

Symptom Possible Cause

Oil Dropping from the Hood.

| Oil mists gather to form the liquid oil. It happens from cooking for a long time. This does not mean the appliance is a faulty product.

To prevent further problems, keep the hood in operation for another 15-20 minutes after cooking.

Noise from External Factors.

| The noise from the following reasons do not mean the appliance is a faulty product.

  • Noise from wind flowing in from the outside.
  • Noise caused when the hood is not in operation.

| The following cases are not applicable for A/S. Please contact the indicated fire extinguisher company.

  • Gas fluid leaking.

  • Gas circuit breaker alarm goes off.

  • If there are further problems, unplug the power cord and contact either KD Navien Customer Service or an agency where the appliance was purchased from.

  • For disposal, attach the waste sticker on the appliance and dispose it in a designated place. Stickers can be purchased from local community center.

  • Please read and understand all instructions and precautions in this manual thoroughly for your safety.

  • Users should keep this manual for future reference.

  • A Warranty Card is included in this manual.
