Smart Clima user manual

Compliance statement Smart Clima

This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.

Information to user

Caution: any changes or modifications not expressly approved by Anticimex Innovation Center A/S will void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.

The Smart Clima is in compliance with the requirement for RF exposure in the US with a 20 cm separation distance between the user and/or bystander of the device.

The antenna is fixed to the device and no change in antenna or fixation of the antenna is acceptable and such modification is considered to violate the Compliance Statement

This device complies with Industry Canada’s license-exempt RSS. Operation is subject to the following two conditions:

  1. This device may not cause interference; and
  2. This device must accept any interference, including interference that may cause undesired operation of the device. This device should be installed and operated with a minimum distance of 20 cm from the human body.

The Smart Clima communicates using the following free SRD frequency bands; EU: 868 – 868.6 MHz with a maximum transmitting power of 11 dBm. Rest of the world: 917 – 926 MHz with a maximum transmitting power of 14 dBm.

Note:

This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:

– Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
– Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
– Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
– Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.

Instructions

Only Anticimex service technicians are allowed to install, replace damaged units, and service installations. Replace the Smart Clima if the device is faulty.
To install the Smart Clima system the operator must possess a mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet with access to an internet connection. To install, the operator should have a user in the
Anticimex-owned software system “Smart Device Tool”.

  1. Use Smart Device Tool to initiate an installation

  2. Select or create customer and site

  3. Add installation

  4. Scan the QR-code of the Smart Connect Mini

  5. Apply power to the Smart Connect Mini and await green flashes of the gateway, indicating beacon mode is active: You can now start to set up the sensors
    a. Start setting up Smart Climas closest to the gateway

  6. Push the button of the sensor until the green LED has flashed 3 times (app. 4 seconds) and await green flashes every 10 seconds, indicating a connection.

  7. Continue to set up all the Smart Climas of the installation in the same way

  8. When all sensors have been installed, end the installation through Smart Device Tool
    a. During this step, the installation will form its mesh and pair the Smart Clima devices.

  9. If the connection has formed without any problems, the installation is complete

  10. If there are problems, investigate using Smart Device Tool which Smart Clima(s) did not connect: Either relocate them or adjust the installation by adding an extra Smart Clima to solve the problem

  11. End installation through Smart Device Tool.

  12. Remember to leave Service Mode.

The Smart Connect Mini must not be installed more than 2 meters above the ground. Do not use another power supply other than the one provided with the Smart Connect Mini. The use of any other power supply could damage the product or make it operate in an unforeseen manner.

Troubleshooting

  • If the Smart Connect Mini shows a red light, it can’t connect to the backend system. Check that the device has been created in Smart Device Tool or relocate to a position with better cellular coverage.
  • If there are problems installing one or more Smart Clima sensors, investigate using Smart Device Tool which sensors did not connect: Either relocate them or adjust the installation by adding an extra sensor to solve the problem.
  • If the Smart Clima still does not install, try to factory reset the unit by pressing and holding the button and await red, green, and yellow flashes. Afterward, you can try to install the sensor again
