CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR PURCHASE OF THE NEW THERMX HS1 BY COVERT OPTICS.
This Handheld Thermal Scanner is engineered using the finest and most robust
materials in a unique combination that provides a light-as-a-feather package
along with the ability to be weapon mounted via its 30mm main tube.
The HS1 display should be viewed no closer than 12 inches from the eye for
best results.
SAFE OPERATION
Do not point the unit’s objective lens at intensive sources of light, such as
devices that emit laser radiation or the sun. This may render the electronic
components inoperative. Your product warranty does not cover damage caused by
misuse or improper operation.
This product uses a lithium battery. To prevent the possibility of personal
injury or product damage caused by battery exposure to extreme heat, store the
device out of direct sunlight and away from other extreme heat sources.
Properly dispose of battery and device.

QUICK STEPS
Remove the battery cap and install the supplied CR123 battery with the
positive terminal facing in. Reinstall the cap firmly.
Press the CENTER button for 3 seconds (Medium Press) to power the unit on. A
splash screen type will appear, followed by the thermal display. Press the
POWER button again for 3 seconds to power the unit off.
Battery indicator rapidly flashing indicates 1min to automatic power off with
rechargeable battery.
SET SCREEN BRIGHTNESS
Press the LEFT ARROW to adjust display brightness.
COLOR MODE SELECTION
The HS1 has four color modes. Press the RIGHT ARROW to cycle through the color
modes: White-Hot, Black-Hot, Green, and Color.
| Press the LEFT ARROW button for 2 seconds to enter the MAIN menu. RIGHT and
LEFT arrows will scroll through menu items — Press the CENTER button to save
the selection.

| There are six reticle types available. The reticle can be adjusted +/- 20
pixels in horizontal (Hor) and vertical (Ver) axes. One pixel equals
approximately 5.3moa or 0.56 inches at 10yds, 1.1 inches at 20yds, and so on.

| The SLEEP menu offers battery-saving options. The “Dim” and “Shutoff” timer
can be individually set to; Off, 1min, 5min, or 10min. The timer starts after
the last button press. Pressing any button will bring the unit out of “Dim”
mode.
| Battery type can be configured by pressing the Center button to highlight
the current battery type. Then press the RIGHT or LEFT arrow to change and the
CENTER button to save. The unit will automatically power down and will need to
be powered on again. Version indicates the currently installed firmware
version. Selecting RESET ALL resets all settings (sleep, reticle, color, etc.)
to factory settings.
NON-UNIFORMITY CORRECTION (NUC)
The HS1 performs automatic NUC calibrations during operation every 5 minutes.
However, the operator can manually perform a NUC by selecting the NUC option
from the MENU. The unit will perform a NUC and exit MENU mode.
