ThermoMart KT8230 Plug and Play 220V Temperature Controller Box – 30Amp
Wiring and installation
After wiring, put back the terminal panel mount and tighten the nuts as well as the input and output glands and slowly close the control box door. Make sure the wires are inside the box and far from the SSRs. This controller box is equipped with the following items:
- Circuit breaker on the box. It will turn your controller ON/OFF and also protects the controller and your kiln against overloading of more than 30 Amps.
- The turn ON/OFF switch for 2 fans. The fans cool down the controller box during operation. The fans must turn ON when you run your kiln and OFF when kiln work is finished and is OFF.
- The alarm switch and LED light on the box. Turn this switch ON if you program the controller to use the alarm feature. When the temperature passes the alarm limits, both the LED light and the alarm sound will come ON.
- A temperature/humidity display on the box for monitoring these parameters inside the box.
- Manual of the temperature controller.
Plug & play Temperature Controller Box 220V – 30Amp
Before attempting installation or service all power to the system must be
disconnected/Off (from the circuit breaker and/or any other power supplying
sources). The device must be installed by a QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL. Using the
provided key, please gently open the box and install the cable glands as well
as the thermocouple gland (the smaller gland with thermocouple extension
passing through it) on your box and connect the male connector of the
thermocouple to the female connector of thermocouple wire extension. Then by
loosening the 2 nuts on the panel mount of the terminals box gently bring out
the panel mount (be careful to not pull the wires inside the box). This
controller box should be placed between the 220V receptacle on the wall and
your kiln.
For easy wiring, you need to cut your kiln cable in 2 halves. Bring out the 2
hot lines, neutral and ground wires from the cable jacket of each end and then
start with first hotline (black – H1) and connect the hotline of one half to
pole1 of terminal (loosen the screw and put the wire under the terminal) and
the black hotline of the other half (output) to the same pole in the other
side. Do the same with other hotline (Red), Neutral (white) and Ground (green)
wires too. For more clarification please check the following diagram.
