their use. -
If a longer extension cord is used:

Troubleshooting
The water is boiling, but the kettle does not turn off.
The auto shut-off function will not operate properly if the lid is not
completely closed. Allow the kettle to cool, then check to see that the lid is
properly locked into place.
The kettle will not turn on.
Make sure that the kettle is seated properly on the power base and that the
base is connected to a functioning electrical outlet. Water or debris on the
bottom of the kettle or on the power base may interfere with the functioning
of the kettle. Be sure that the base of the kettle and the power base are dry
and free of debris.
There are mineral deposits on the interior of the kettle.
A certain amount of scale build-up is normal after use and is caused by
minerals contained in hard water. To remove deposits, refer to “Mineral
Deposits” on page 8.
If the kettle is heated with no water inside, the internal safety mechanism
will automatically turn the kettle off.
Remove the kettle from the power base and fill with at least 2 cups of water
then return to the power base. The kettle will begin working again once the
internal temperature has dropped to a safe level.
Heating Water
- Place the power base on a sturdy, level, and dry surface.
- Open the kettle lid using the lid release button and fill it with water. Water must be filled between the MIN and MAX levels.
- Close the lid ensuring it locks into place.
- Make sure the bottom of the kettle is completely dry then place the kettle onto the power base.
- Plug the power cord into an available 120V AC wall outlet.
- Press ( ) to turn the kettle on.
- Press ( ) again to bring contents to boiling temperature (212°F). To bring contents to a custom temperature, press ( ) to cycle through the temperature range in 18-degree increments, up to 212°F. When the desired temperature appears on the LED control panel, press ( ).
- To initiate automatic Keep Warm mode, press and hold ( ) for 3 seconds after setting the temperature. The Keep Warm icon ( ) will appear in the digital display and the kettle will beep to signify it has been set.
- The LED base will illuminate turquoise and the kettle will begin heating. As the kettle reaches the input temperature, the color of the LED base will change based on the current internal temperature
- Once the water reaches the input temperature, the kettle will automatically shut off. If Keep Warm mode was initiated, the kettle will automatically maintain the input temperature for 2 hours.
- Gripping by the cool-touch handle, lift the kettle off the power base to serve. Do not touch the glass body as the surface will be hot.
- When finished serving, pour out any remaining water and unplug the power cord.

Mineral Deposits
Regular use of the kettle can leave behind mineral deposits or cause white residue and scale build-up on the interior of the kettle. This residue is normal and will not negatively affect you or the unit but can impact the quality of prepared meals/drinks over time if not cleaned properly. Follow these steps to remove deposits and residue:
- Fill the kettle with 6 cups of water and 3 tablespoons of baking soda OR 1 cup of white vinegar OR ½ cup of lemon juice.
- Bring contents to a boil by following the instructions in “Heating Water” on pages 7-8.
- Allow the mixture to soak in the kettle overnight.
