USING THE SANDWICH MAKER

Before using the SANDWICH MAKER for the first time, peel off any adhesive labels.

Pour a teaspoon of vegetable oil onto the Non-Stick Coated Toasting Plates. Spread overusing an absorbent kitchen
towel and wipe off any excess oil.

The SANDWICH MAKER may give off a slight odor and smoky haze when used for the first time. This is normal.

CONNECTING TO THE MAINS SUPPLY/PREHEATING

Connect the mains plug to the mains supply, the Red and Green Indicator Lights illuminates immediately. As soon as the Green Indicator Light goes off (after about 4-5 minutes), the preheating time is complete, and toasting can commence.

TOASTING

Prepare the Sandwich as directed in the recipe and place the bread, buttered side down, on The Bottom Non-Stick.
Toasting Cooking Plate for Sandwich making.
Lower the Top Non-Stick Coated Toasting Plate and use the Clip to fasten the Handles.
Toast for approx. 3 to 6 minutes or until golden brown.
Adjust the time to suit an individual taste.
It is normal for the Indicator Lights to switch on and off during use.

HINTS FOR GOOD RESULTS

For best results, use medium sliced bread with or without crusts. Remember to increase the cooking time slightly for thick-sliced bread and to reduce slightly for the thinly sliced bread.
Brown bread can also be used but the toasting time may differ.
Toast sliced bread that fits the SANDWICH MAKER or cut the bread to fit. (Any leftover pieces can be made into breadcrumbs).
Use only butter or ordinary margarine when preparing toasted sandwiches. Synthetic or low-fat spreads are unsuitable as they overheat at a lower temperature, forming dark brown deposits that can cause the toasted sandwich to stick to the Non-Stick Coated Toasting Plates.
Unlike conventional sandwiches, the bread is buttered on the outside. Take care not to use too much filling otherwise it will leak from the toasted sandwiches.
Avoid using delicate salad fillings which will soften when toasted such as lettuce and cucumber. Salad items such as tomatoes and onions give good results.

CARE AND CLEANING

Remove the mains plug from the mains supply.
NOTE: NEVER IMMERSE THE SANDWICH MAKER IN WATER.
Allow cooling with the Top Non-Stick Coated Toasting Plate open.

Wipe the Non-Stick Coated Toasting Plates with a cloth rinsed in hot water and washing-up liquid.
Never use hard abrasive powders, wire wool, or hard abrasive scourers. Sponge scourers sold for use on non-stick pans, called non-stick sponge scourers, can safely be used.
Wipe dry with a clean cloth and an absorbent kitchen towel.
