Rowlett DE401 Milk Frother
Safety Tips
- Position on a flat, stable surface.
- A service agent/qualified technician should carry out installation and any repairs if required. Do not remove any components on this product.
- Consult Local and National Standards to comply with the following:

- Building Regulations
- Ensure the milk level is between the ‘MIN’ and ‘MAX’ marks.
- Keep hands and utensils away while use to reduce the risk of severe personal injury or damage to the appliance.
- Always ensure to use the appliance with cover in place.
- Only use the power base supplied with the appliance.
- Never use accessories which are not recommended by the manufacturer. They could pose a safety risk to the user and might damage the appliance. Only use original parts and accessories.
- NEVER operate an empty appliance to avoid any damage to the heating elements.
- Be cautious when moving the appliance with hot liquid inside.
- Always switch off and disconnect the power supply to the appliance when not in use.
- Keep all packaging away from children. Dispose of the packaging in accordance to the regulations of local authorities.
- If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a Rowlett agent or a recommended qualified technician in order to avoid a hazard.
- This appliance can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved.
- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are aged from 8 years and above and supervised.
- Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.
- Children shall not play with the appliance.
- DO NOT immerse the appliance in water.
- This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
- staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
- farm houses;
- by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
- bed and breakfast type environments.
- Do not touch the hot surface. Hold the appliance by its handle only.
- Rowlett recommend that this appliance should be periodically tested (at least annually) by a Competent Person. Testing should include, but not be limited to: Visual Inspection, Polarity Test, Earth Continuity, Insulation Continuity and Functional Testing.
- Rowlett recommend that this product is connected to a circuit protected by an appropriate RCD (Residual Current Device).
Introduction
Please take a few moments to carefully read through this manual. Correct
maintenance and operation of this machine will provide the best possible
performance from your Rowlett product.
The appliance is only intended for frothing and heating milk. Do not use it
for anything other than intended use.

Rowlett prides itself on quality and service, ensuring that at the time of
packaging the contents are supplied fully functional and free of damage.
Should you find any damage as a result of transit, please contact your Rowlett
dealer immediately.
Before first time use

Clean the appliance thoroughly (See section “Cleaning, Care & Maintenance”).

Get to know the paddles:

Get to know the milk level marks:
Maximum capacity for heating milk: 300ml
Operation
Note for all functions:
Ensure to let the appliance rest for a Minimum of 3 minutes between two
consecutive cycles, or the appliance will enter self-protection state
automatically after working for 5 cycles continuously. The working indicator
will flash and the motor will not run. After about 5 minutes, the appliance
will enter standby and be ready for use again.
Frothing and heating function

Remove the jar from the base.

Open the cover. Then mount the frothing paddle onto the shaft inside the jar.

Fill the jar with milk below the “MAX” mark (150ml). Then close the cover.

Place the jar on the base then connect jar to a mains power supply.

Press the heating button once. The heating indicator light turns On and the appliance starts to work.
Note: If desired, you can press the heating button again to halt operation. -
Once completed, the appliance stops working automatically.
Frothing only function

Repeat the steps 1-4 as in section “frothing and heating function”.

Press the frothing button . The frothing indicator light turns On and the appliance starts to work.

Heating only function

Ensure to mount the mixing paddle onto the shaft.

Ensure the milk level is below the “MAX” mark (300ml).

After plugging in the base, press the heating button once. The heating indicator light turns On and the appliance starts to work.
Note: If desired, you can press the heating button again to halt operation. -
Once completed, the appliance stops working automatically.
Cleaning, Care & Maintenance
Always disconnect the appliance from the power supply and let it cool down before cleaning and any maintenance.
- Use soapy water and a damp cloth to clean the exterior of the appliance.
- The jar and cover are NOT dishwasher proof! Use some mild detergent and a damp cloth to clean.
- Soak the 2 paddles in warm water, then clean with a soft cloth or brush.
- Dry thoroughly after cleaning.

Electrical Wiring
This appliance is supplied with a 3 pin BS1363 plug and lead. The plug is to
be connected to a suitable mains socket.
This appliance is wired as follows:
- Live wire (coloured brown) to terminal marked L
- Neutral wire (coloured blue) to terminal marked N
- Earth wire (coloured green/yellow) to terminal marked E
This appliance must be earthed.
If in doubt consult a qualified electrician.
Electrical isolation points must be kept clear of any obstructions. In the
event of any emergency disconnection being required they must be readily
accessible.
