Pursuant to art. 13 of the legislative decree of 25 July 2005, no. 15 “Implementation of Directives 2002/95/EC, 2002/96/EC and 2003/108/EC, concerning the reduction of the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, as well as the disposal of waste”.

This symbol on the product indicates that the product must be disposed of separately from other household waste at the end of its useful life.
Therefore, it should be handed over to the applicable collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment or returned to the dealer at the time of purchasing a replacement device on a 1:1 basis. By ensuring that this equipment is disposed, decommissioned or recycled correctly, you will help prevent any potential negative impact on the environment and human health, which could otherwise be caused by inappropriate handling of this product, and help to conserve natural resources.

Information for users pursuant to the Legislative Decree of 20 November 2008, no. 188 “Implementation of Directive 2008/103/EC concerning batteries, accumulators and disposal of related waste”.

Batteries are required for the remote control. Do not mix different types of batteries and do not use old and new batteries at the same time. Do not use rechargeable batteries. To avoid the potential risk of explosion, observe the polarities indicated inside the battery compartment. Replace only with the type specified in the battery compartment. Do not throw batteries onto naked flame and do not recharge. If the remote control is not going to be used for a long time, remove the batteries.

Respect the environment and the law. Batteries must be disposed of separately from other household waste.
The illegal disposal of the product by the user will lead to the administrative sanctions referred to in Legislative Decree no. 22/1997 (article 50 and following of Legislative Decree no. 22/1997) being applied.

WARRANTY

The manufacturer guarantees that this product will be free from defects in construction or materials under normal use for a period of twenty-four months, without prejudice to compliance with the instructions for use and maintenance. The warranty starts from the date the product is purchased from the retailer.

Warranty conditions

  1. If it is necessary to use the warranty, please contact the dealer you purchased the product from.

  2.  Should you need to use the warranty, the product’s proof of purchase must be presented in the form of a copy of the original invoice or the receipt issued by the retailer, or a related confirmation. The device’s serial number must be legible.

  3.  The authorised service centre reserves the right at its sole discretion to fulfil its obligations by repairing or replacing the product, even with a product with identical or superior performance, or by replacing the defective parts, as necessary. Any use of the warranty conditions, repair or replacement of individual parts or components does not lead to an extension of the original warranty period. After repair, the replaced parts are to remain at the authorised service centre.

  4. This warranty is limited to defects in materials and construction. This excludes:
    – periodic checks, adjustments, software updates, maintenance and the replacement of parts subject to normal wear and tear;
    – damage caused by accidents, negligence, modifications, improper use or incorrect setting up;
    – damage caused by lightning, overvoltages, liquids, fire, acts of war, vandalism, incorrect or insufficient grounding or a lack thereof, insufficient ventilation or from other causes not attributable to the manufacturer;
    – damage caused by repairs carried out by unauthorised service centres/unauthorised persons and/or by the use of non-original spare parts;
    – products on which the label bearing the serial number has been removed or made illegible;
    – travel expenses and costs resulting from the removal/installation of the product.

  5. Expenses resulting from warranty repairs performed by unauthorised service centres or unauthorised persons will not be reimbursed.

  6.  All expenses related to repairs and requests on the basis of which there is no defect to the product are the responsibility of the user. This also applies to costs related to the installation and the illustration of the rules for use of the appliance.

  7. The manufacturer declines any liability related to the indirect or consequential loss of or damage to accessories.

  8. These warranty conditions are without prejudice to the rights granted to the consumer according to the provisions of the Consumer Code (Legislative Decree 206/2005) or by other national laws.

SAFTEY INFORMATION

General Use

  • By reading this manual you will find that the use of this product is based on simple functions displayed via various on-screen menus.
  • These menus allow the user to benefit from the product’s full range of features and will guide them through installation, set up, viewing and various other functions.
  • All functions are easily accessible via the remote control
  •  The receiver can be easily adapted to future needs.
  • Software updates may result in changes to the product’s operation.
  •  If any problems are encountered during use, please consult your dealer.

CAUTION – IMPORTANT NOTICE
If the appliance switches off automatically after 3 hours, this is not a defect.
The Diginova 23CI+ switches off automatically after 3 hours of inactivity and enters standby mode when not in use (if there is no user activity, such as a change of channel, for example).
The automatic shut-off is pre-set by the factory. This function can, however, be deactivated through the “Power Settings” menu.

SAFETY NOTICES
This appliance has been manufactured according to international safety standards. Please read the following safety precautions carefully. Follow these instructions to avoid damaging the product.

POWER SUPPLY / GROUNDING
This product should only be connected to an electrical power supply network with the specifications indicated on the related label. In the event of any uncertainty about the power supply in your home, consult the local energy provider. Follow the current grounding regulations for the antenna cable/system.

OVERLOAD
Do not overload mains power outlets, extension cables or adapters to avoid the risk of fire or electric shock.

POSITIONING
This product is for internal use only and exposure to lightning, rain or sunlight must be avoided. Ensure that the unit is kept at least 10 cm away from devices sensitive to electromagnetic interference (for example VCRs). Ensure that the product is placed on a stable surface to reduce the risk of it falling. A fall may cause serious harm to children or adults, in addition to damaging the product itself.

VENTILATION
Do not cover the ventilation openings on the receiver to ensure the free circulation of air. Avoid blocking openings with objects and do not place the product on beds, sofas, blankets or similar surfaces If the product is installed on a rack or in a piece of furniture, make sure that you have followed the manufacturer’s assembly instructions and that there is adequate ventilation.

DIRECT SUNLIGHT
Do not expose the receiver to direct sunlight. Do not place it near radiators or other heat sources.

LIQUIDS
The product must not be exposed to liquids of any kind. In addition, do not place objects filled with liquids on or
near the product.

CLEANING
Switch off the receiver and disconnect the mains power supply before cleaning the surface of the appliance. Use a lightly moistened cloth (free from solvents/alcohol) for cleaning.

WHEN NOT IN USE
Disconnect the mains power supply from the receiver during prolonged periods of disuse.

LIGHTNING AND STORMS
Disconnect the product from the mains supply and the antenna during storms or when unattended or unused for prolonged periods. This is to prevent damage caused by lightning strikes or mains discharges.

MAINTENANCE
To avoid the risk electric shock, do not open the appliance. Disconnect the product from the power supply before carrying out any maintenance or connection to other devices. Maintenance should only be carried out by qualified
personnel.

FAULTS
Disconnect the power supply immediately in the event of a serious malfunction. Do not use the product in event of any failure. Continuing to use a defective product may result in greater damage.

REPLACEMENT OF COMPONENTS
In the event that any components need to be replaced, ensure that the technician carrying out the repair uses only components specified by the manufacturer or with the same specification as the ones that came with the unit. The use of unauthorised parts may result in greater damage to the appliance.

ACCESSORIES
Do not connect any devices other than those intended for use with the product, as this could result in danger or damage to the product. Do not insert metal objects or foreign objects into any slots for modules or smartcards.
This could result in damage to the product that may result in a reduction of its useful life.

Installation

Connect the receiver as shown in the diagram below:

  • a. Antenna input
  • b. Satellite input
  • c. Ethernet port
  • d. External 12V DC/2A power supply socket
  • e. Optical digital audio output for connection to an external amplifier/AV receiver
  • f. A/V output for connecting to TV from the receiver
  • g. HDMI output for connecting to TV from the receiver
  • h. USB 2.0 port for connection to an external HDD for PVR functionality

Installation
After connecting the receiver and turning on the TV, turn on the receiver by pressing the red POWER button on the remote control.
On first use, the menu will be automatically displayed.

Installation
Select the desired language from the first screen.

  1.  Use the arrow keys to select the desired language and confirm your choice using the OK button
  2.  Select the country with the arrow keys and confirm the selection using the OK button
  3.  Select the type of connection. By default, the satellite connection and the terrestrial digital connection are active. Confirm the selection using the OK button.
  4.  Check the default settings on the next page, modify them by pressing the YELLOW button and then the arrow keys, and confirm your selection with the GREEN button.
  5.  Use the arrow keys to select the digital terrestrial antenna input (enable or disable) and confirm the selection with the GREEN button
  6.  Select a predefined channel list or continue with an automatic channel search with the arrow keys and confirm with the GREEN key.

Upon completion of the scan and saving of the channels, confirm with the GREEN key. The receiver will automatically switch to the first stored channel.

Change from TV mode to Radio and vice versa
Press the TV/Radio button to change the playback mode.
Please note that radio programs may not be available in all countries via digital terrestrial DVB-T/T2 and/or DVB-S/S2.

Channel list

  •  Press the OK button to access the channel list.
  •  Select the desired channel using the arrow keys
  • Confirm the selection by pressing the OK button.
  • The channels can be browsed more rapidly using the << / >> buttons

Electronic Programme Guide (EPG)

  •  Press the SFI/EPG button to access the electronic programme guide. Information regarding the current programme will be displayed, as well as information on subsequent programmes.
  •  You can select the programme or browse them using the arrow keys.
