SAFETY­ AND­ SET-UP­

Please read this instruction manual thoroughly prior to using this appliance! Follow all safety instructions in order to avoid damage due to im-proper use!
Failure to follow these instructions voids any grant- ed war-ranty.

  • ­ The appliance is designed for domestic use only. Do not use the appliance for anything other than its intended use, which is the measurement of body weight.
  • ­ Do not use the appliance on a carpet or rug.
  • ­ Always use the appliance on an even, hard floor. This ensures constant measurements.
  • ­ Do not use the appliance with wet feet or when the glass surface is damp or wet.
  • ­ Always make sure that the appliance does not tip over, as there is a risk of injury.
  • Never use the appliance outdoors.
  • ­ Do not continue to use the appliance if a malfunction occurs.
  • ­ Do not continue to use the appliance, if it is dropped or if there are any cracks or chips on the glass surface.
  • ­ Do not place any objects on the glass surface.
  • ­ Never jump on or off the appliance.
  • ­ If the appliance is being used in the bathroom, it should never come into contact with water.
  • Do not immerse the appliance in water or in other liquids; do not hold it under running water.
  • ­ Do not expose the appliance to direct sunlight, high temperatures or constantly high humidity.
  • ­ Keep the appliance away from children.
  • ­ The appliance should not be used by the following persons, including children: those with limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities and also those with a lack of experience and knowledge. This does not apply to the latter if they were instructed in the use of the appliance or if they use it under the supervision of a person responsible for their safety. Children should always be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  •  Never use the appliance if it is visibly damaged.
  • ­ Our GRUNDIG Household Appliances meet applicable safety standards, thus if the appliance is dam-aged, it must be repaired or replaced by the dealer, a service center or a similarly qualified and authorized person to avoid any dangers. Faulty or unqualified repair work may cause danger and risks for the user.
  • ­ Do not dismantle the appliance under any circum-stances. No warranty claims are accepted for damages caused by improper handling.
  • ­ To clean the appliance, please see details in the “Cleaning and Care” section. Dry the appliance after cleaning it.
  • ­ Never operate or place this appliance on or near to hot surfaces such as gas burner, electric burner or heated oven.
  • ­ Never use the appliance in or near to the places where combustible or inflammable materials exist.
  • ­ Do not overload this appliance.
  • ­ If this appliance functions improperly, try to reset it by removing the batteries for a short time or replacing them.
  • ­ Only use high-quality batteries. Low-quality batteries could leak and result in damages to the appliance.
  • ­ Extreme conditions like hot and highly humid environment or improper use of this appliance may cause the batteries to leak which may cause personal injury. If the batteries leak, remove them with a cloth and dispose of them in accordance with the applicable laws. Prevent battery acid from coming into contact with skin and eyes. If battery acid comes into contact with your eyes, flush your eyes thoroughly with plenty of water and consult a physician immediately. If battery acid comes into contact with your skin, wash the affected area with plenty of water and soap.
  • \­ Batteries are very dangerous if swallowed. Please keep the batteries and this appliance away from children at all times. If a battery is swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
  •  The batteries should never be recharged or reactivated in any way, nor should they be thrown into a fire. Never allow the batteries to come in contact with water.
  • ­ If you do not plan to use the appliance for a long period of time, then remove the batteries. The appliance can get damaged if they leak.
  • ­ If your scale does not function properly, replace all batteries.
  • Batteries should not be dis posed of together with the in-household waste! Please dispose of expired batteries in an environmentally friendly way and according to the applicable legal regulations.
  • Never use old and new batteries or batteries of differ-ing brands simultaneously.
  • ­ Before disposing of the appliance, remove the batteries.
  • ­ When inserting batteries pay attention to the polarity as indicated inside the battery compartment. Do not short-circuit the batteries.
  • ­ The scale switches off automatically after 10 seconds once the measurement is complete.
  • ­ When voltage of battery is down, the “Lo” low battery warning will appear on the display. Replace the batteries with the new ones.
  • The PS 2010 is a product for your well-being. It is not a medical product. No medical recommendations can be made on the basis of its use or of the results dis-played.
  • ­ Your product is designed with complex algorithms. Due to these algorithms, if an external electromagnetic disturbance happens near your device, it may affect your readings. In such cases, first remove the electromag-netic disturbance reason and repeat your measurement. Under extreme electromagnetic disturbance, your device will protect itself and enter into protection mode. To turn back to nor-mal running mode, remove and replace the battery of the product after removing the disturbance.

OPERATION­

Preparation
Inserting­/­replacing­the­b batteries
This appliance runs on four 1.5V batteries
(AAA/UM4/R03). Always replace all of the batteries at the same time.

  1. Open the battery compartment lid E on the bottom of the appliance by pressing and pushing down on the arrow and removing the battery compartment lid.
  2.  If necessary, remove the expired batteries first and dispose of them in an environmentally friendly way. Place four new 1.5V batteries (AAA/UM4/R03) into the battery compartment. Pay attention to the correct polarity as indicated in the battery compartment.
  3. Close the lid of the battery compartment. Make sure that it clicks into place.

Notes:

  •  Do not expose the batteries to extreme heat, caused for example by direct sunlight, heaters or fire.
  •  If the battery is running low, the warning »Lo« appears on the LCD display B . Insert four new batteries immediately.
  •  Remove the batteries if they are flat or when you plan not to use the appliance for a long period of time. The manufacturer accepts no liability for damages caused by leaking bat-teries.

Environmental­ note:

  • Batteries, including those which do not contain heavy metal, should not be disposed with domestic waste. Please dispose of old batteries in accordance with the legal regulations which apply in your area.

Determining ­the ­unit ­o f­weight:
This appliance can display the weight in Imperial (lb: pound, st:stone) and Metric (kg: kilogram) units.

  1. ­Set the desired unit of weight by continuously

Operation

  1. ­Place the scale on a smooth flat surface.
  2. Step carefully onto the glass surface scale and stand still for your weight measurement.

Notes:

  • Step onto the appliance gently with only the left foot or the right foot, placing it on the section of the glass surface. Make sure that your foot remains at least 2 cm away from the edge. Then place your other foot on and position it in the same way on the other side of the glass surface.

  • Position your body weight in the middle of the appliance.

  • Your scale includes a comfortable auto-on function. It turns on automatically when you step on it and the measured body weight ap-pears on the display within 2-3 seconds only.

  • If your scale does not turn on automatically, tap lightly on the glass surface A with your foot once to activate it. »0.0« appears on the LCD display B .

  • Your body weight will be flashing on the LCD 3 Your body weight will be flashing on the LCD
    Wait until the indication of your weight stops flashing.

  • After about 10 seconds the scale switches off automatically.

Notes:

  • The appliance has a self-calibration facility. After every energizing, it performs self-calibration which may cause to measure your weight inaccurately at your first 2 measurements.

  •  If the batteries are low on charge, ”LO” appears on the LCD display B batteries with the new ones.

  • The maximum load of the scale is180 kg. If this is exceeded, “Err” appears on the LCD display B . Step down from the glass surface immediately.

  •  If the LCD display shows a malfunction, reset the scale. Remove the batteries, wait for 10 seconds and then insert them again.

  •  The scale is equipped with an automatic off function to preserve the battery. It switches off automatically after 10 seconds once the measurement is complete.

INFORMATION­

Storage

  •  If you do not plan to use the appliance for a long period of time, please store it carefully.
  •  Make sure that the appliance is completely dry.
  • Store the appliance in a cool and dry place, which is protected from moisture and direct sunlight.
  •  Make sure the appliance is kept out of the reach of children.
  •  Remove the batteries from the battery compartment when you will not be using the appliance for a long period of time.

This product complies with EU WEEE Directive (2012/19/EU). This product bears a classification symbol for waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).

This symbol indicates that this product shall not be disposed with other household wastes at the end of its ser-vice life. Used device must be returned to offical collection point for recycling of electrical and electronic devices. To find these collection systems please contact to your local authorities or retailer where the product was pu-chased. Each household performs important role in recovering and recycling of old appliance. Appropriate disposal of used appliance helps prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health.
