RapidLINK v1.3.3 Upgrade Config Utility Software

Pre-Conditions:

• The system must be running RapidLINK v1.1.5 prior to upgrade.

• RapidHIT™ ID System Software needs to be updated before the RapidLINK software upgrade.

• Confirm you are logged into the Administrator Account for the computer

• The laptop should not be connected to the internet when deploying the software upgrade.

• Before starting the upgrade process retrieve the RapidLINK v1.1.5 serial number by navigating to
  C:\RapidLINK right click on RLConfigUtility.exe and run as administrator and annotate the RapidLINK Serial.

• Download the RapidLINK installer labeled ABRapidLINK-1.3.3-136
  (https://www.thermofisher.com/us/en/home/technical-resources/software- downloads/rapidsoftware.html)
  and save it on “S” drive on the Thermo Fisher Scientific provide Laptop.

• Close RapidLINK v1.1.5 if open.

• Navigate to “C:\RapidLINK” and confirm that the database file RapidLinkDB.mdf is present
  NOTE : If the database is not located in the default directory and you are unable to locate it do not proceed with upgrade and contact the appropriate support team for assistance.

• Check the model of laptop when installing RapidLINK server/client and complete the subcomponents installation as follows:
  Note : the subcomponents are available in the downloaded folder
  a. Dell 5580 – install NDP472-KB4054530-x86-x64-AllOS-ENU.exe,
  FixPendingInstallationIssueWithInnoSetup.bat and VC_redist.x64.exe
  b. Dell E3541 – install NDP472-KB4054530-x86-x64-AllOS-ENU.exe and VC_redist.x64.exe
  c. Dell E3551 – install FixPendingInstallationIssueWithInnoSetup.bat

NOTE : To install simply double click on the respective .exe or .bat files. These should be done one at a time and allowed to complete before the next component is installed. We recommend disconnecting the laptop from the internet, If the computer has an active internet connection these components can take up to 2 hours to install. The “NDP472-KB4054530-x86-x64-AllOS- ENU.exe” can specifically take very long.
The “FixPendingInstallationIssueWithInnosetup.bat” will take only seconds.

Upgrade RapidLINK software instructions:

1. Double click on RapidLINKSetup.exe click Yes if the screen below is displayed.
2. Accept the EULA selecting “I accept the agreement” and click on next
3. Select all the options displayed on the screen below and click on Next.
4. Select the database (RapidLinkDB.mdf ) location using the Browse button
5. Click on next on the above screen
6. Click on Install on the window below
7. During the installation the screens below will be displayed. It will take some time, do not cancel, or interrupt the upgrade process
8. When the screen below is displayed verify that the Serial Number that appears in the RapidLINK Serial field is the same as RL v1.1.5 and click on ‘OK’
9. Wait for the installation to complete.
10. Click on OK when the screen below is displayed
11. Click on Finish After the installation is complete
12. Launch RapidLINK from the desktop shortcut, on login screen enter credentials admin/admin
13. Upon launch verify that the RapidLINK version displayed on the top left corner is v1.3.3
