Applied Biosystems™ RapidHIT™ ID System Software v1.3.3

Instrument Upgrade Installer workflow

Pre-Conditions:

1. No sample runs should be in progress
2. No cartridge should be inserted in the instrument
3. RapidHIT™ ID System Software needs to be updated before the RapidLINK software upgrade
4. RapidLINK and RapidHIT ID are connected via Wired network connection
5. The instrument being upgraded needs to have an online status in the RapidLINK software
6. Download the installer and save it on the USB drive
7. Insert the USB drive in the front port of the instrument

Upgrade Steps:

1. Download the RapidHIT™ID zip file “RapidHIT_ID v1.3.3_Customer_Update_USB_Install_Instructions” and copy to the root directory of a formatted/clean USB drive.

2. Insert the USB drive into the instrument.

3. Log into the instrument using the administrative credentials:

4. Click on the main menu button as indicated below
   

5. On the main menu screen a new button will be displayed at the top-center saying ‘Update’. Tap on the ‘Update’ button to begin the instrument update:
   

6. Click ‘Yes’ to accept the notification indicating that an app wants to make changes to the device:
   

7. Accept the license agreement by selecting the radio button ‘I accept the agreement ‘and click on Next.
   

8. On the Setup Screen Click ‘Install’ to continue
   

9. During install user will see below screens
   

If you have user profiles that contain facial recognition for authentication, procced to step 14.B to save your user profiles with facial recognition. For others, continue with Step 14.A
14.A Select the option to ‘Yes, restart the computer now’ when below message is displayed and click on Finish.
Note: Restart is required to successfully complete the upgrade

14.B Select the option ‘No, I will restart the computer later’ when below message is displayed and click on Finish. The following steps will need to be completed through a TightVNC connection or with the use of a mouse and keyboard directly attached to the instrument.

a. Navigate to F:\backup. Pick the folder with the latest timestamp F:\backup\recent Backup directory From that folder, navigate to \d\DannoGUI.. directory as shown in the picture below and Copy IDs folder and IXTracker.dat file

b. Navigate to D:\DannoGUI
c. Replace the copied files

d. Shutdown and restart the instrument to complete the upgrade.

Verify upgrade installation:

1. After restarting, log in as an Admin user and click on the icon to access the system menu
2. Click on the icon to reach system settings.
3. Verify the software version number displayed on the settings screen is v1.3.3:
