GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
These instructions should be read carefully and retained after installation by
the end user for future reference and maintenance.
These instructions should be used to aid installation of the following
products: IP663G / IP665G / OP663GBK / OP665GBK
SAFETY
- This product must be installed in accordance with the latest edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671) and current Building Regulations. If in any doubt, consult a qualified electrician
- Please isolate mains prior to installation or maintenance
- Check the total load on the circuit (including when this product is fitted) does not exceed the rating of the circuit cable, fuse or circuit breaker
- Please note the IP (Ingress Protection) rating of this product when deciding the location for installation
- Do not overload this accessory or subject it to conditions outside its rating
- This product is Class I and must be earthed
- This product is IP66 rated (the remote control is IP20 rated)
INSTALLATION
- Provide power to the required point of installation (refer to BS7671 for correct cabling methods). Suitable IP rated junction boxes should be used where required
- Round cable should be used for the mains supply and connected loads. The use of flat cable will cause water ingress
- Remove the fixing screws securing the front cover
- Drill the fixing holes in the rear of the box. Mark the location of the fixing holes and drill ensuring not to infringe with any gas/water pipes or electrical cables
- Fix the box to a solid surface using suitable screws and wall plugs (not included). The output compression glands should be facing downwards
- Refit the screw mounting hole caps (failure to fit these caps will compromise the IP rating)
- Unscrew the sealing nut from the compression gland (see Fig. 1) and fit it over the supply cable
- Remove the protective insert from the compression gland, leaving the rubber gasket and compression gland in place, and pass the supply cable through the compression gland
- Repeat for load cables as required. Each output is individually fused and the rating of the fuse is marked on the PCB. Do not exceed the maximum load shown (see Fig. 2)

Connect the incoming power ensuring the correct polarity is observed (see Fig. 3): ACL – Live (brown), FGND – Earth (green/yellow), ACN – Neutral (blue)
-
Connect the various loads ensuring correct polarity is observed (see Fig. 4): ACL – Live (brown), FGND -Earth (green/yellow), ACN – Neutral (blue)
-
Secure the cables in place via the cable clamps, then tighten the compression glands ensuring a good seal is made around each cable
-
Switch on power to the unit, ensuring it is safe to do so
-
See below for matching the remote control to the switch box
-
Refasten the cover and secure with the screws provided – do not overtighten
-
Check for correct operation
REMOTE CONTROL SETUP
- Remove the battery cover from the remote control, insert a 1.5V AAA battery (not included) and replace the cover
- Press and release the “MATCH” switch on the circuit board (see Fig. 1), the green LED indicator will flash
- Press and hold any button on the remote control until the LED indicator on the circuit board is stable and not flashing
- Press the “ON” button on channel 1 of the remote control, the red channel 1 indicator on the box cover will illuminate
- Once channel 1 is programmed the other channels will be set up automatically, the product is now ready for use
- A new remote control can be matched to the switch box by following the procedure above. It is not possible to match two remotes to the same switch box, as matching the second remote unmatches the first
- It is possible to match two switch boxes simultaneously onto the same remote, but then the two channel 1s / channel 2s etc can only be switched together
WARNING
This product must be disconnected from the circuit if subjected to any high voltage or insulation resistance testing. Irreparable damage will occur if this instruction is not followed. The remote control is not weatherproof.
