Scan it using your camera on the phone, it’s a video guide. Just open a camera on the phone, focus on QR code and open a link
Features
Remove a protective film before use.
Note: the protective film is very thin
Before setup
- Make sure that your camera in L mode. It’s a small switcher on the back
- Plug the camera into a wall and wait for 4 minutes
- You should setup the camera in a manual mode, do not use QR code.
- Do not install the microSD card into the camera before setup
- Do not connect your phone to the camera’s wifi before setup
- Do not connect any devices for charging to avoid overheating

Step 01
Plug your camera into a wall, you can connect it using USB USB cable to a
charger or a powerbank
Step 02
- Take your phoneand check Wifi list in settings
- Wait until you will see a device SmartLife. Do not connect it to the camera at this moment
Step 03
Open AppStore or Google Play and install Tuya Smart app
Step 04
Open this app, sign-in with apple, google or create the account
Step 05
Click “Add a device” or “+” on the top-right
Step 06
- Click “Security &Video Surv”
- Click “SmartCamera Wi-Fi”
Step 07
- Click “QR Code” on the top
- Select “Wi-Fi Mode”, click Next
- Select the APMode

- Select your 2.4GhzWi-Fi Network
- All routers have 2.4G and 5G. Activate it in the setting of your router if you have only active 5G
- Routers should have active DHCP. The camera should get the network address automatically12

- Enter your Wi-Fipassword. It doesn’t work with public Wi-Fi like hotels, airports, etc
- Click “Next”

- Click a “Go to connect” button. It will open your Wi-Fi settings on the phone

Click onSmartLife, wait for a check icon

Then switch back to the app

If you see a reconnect button, just click on “Confirm hot spot connection”
under the Reconnect button

It will show“Adding device” Wait for 2-4 minutes to finish the connection
If you got an error, try to setup again and check your wifi password. Turn off
a firewall in your router18

- Click “Done” on the top
How to record videos on the PHONE WITHOUT MICRO SD CARD
We recommend to record in this way when you are in the same Wi-Fi network.
- Click on the camera, you will see buttons“Screenshot” and“Record”
- You can make a screenshot or record it directly on your phone
How to record videos when the app is closed
Step 1
You should install the microSD card into the camera and set up the
recording.

Turn off the camera, and insert your microSD card(not included, supports from8Gb to 256Gb)

Plug the camera into a wall, wait for 2-3 min

Open the camera main menu, and click on the pencil on the top right

Click on the “Storage settings”, you will see your MicroSD card capacity

Enable “Localrecording”, so you can check your recordings at anytime
How to setup Motion Detection
Step 1
You should make steps from “How to record videos when the app is closed”
before
- Open the camera main menu, and click on a pencil on the top right
Step 2
- Click the“Detection AlarmSettings”
- Enable “MotionDetection Alarm”
Make sure that you allow app to show you notifications. If not, you can enableit in the phone settings
How to check detected movements
Step 1
- Open the main screen of the app
- Click on the bottom on “Me” icon
Step 2
- Open “Message center”
- You can see the time when its triggered, then you can find it on the playback and check what’s going on
How to use playback
Step 1
- Click on the camera, you will see a button“Playback”
- Click on the playback button
Step 2
- You can select a date or scroll the timeline
- You can also make screenshots or record interested movement to your phone
How to change the Wi-Fi network
Step 1
The best way is to remove the camera from the app when it’s on. If you
can’t do it, just remove the camera from the app and reset the camera manually
- Open the camera main menu, and click on the pencil on the top right
Step 2
- Scroll down and click “RemoveDevice”
- The app will remove it and reset it to default settings
How to reset the camera
- Disconnect it from an outlet, remove your MicroSD card from the camera
- Connect it using USB USB cable to a any charger
- Wait for 3-4 min
- Press and hold the reset button until lights go off. The reset button is between L and M switcher
- Disconnect it from a USB cable and plug it into a wall
- Wait for 3-5 min and setup again
How to watch videos on the PC
- You should install an additional video player to watch them on the PC
- PC: Install the K-lite Codec Pack Standard with Meda Player Classic, link: https://fles3.codecgude.com/K-Lte_Codec_Pack_1605_Standard.exe
- Then right-click on a video file -> “Open with..” and choose Media Player Classic.
- Mac: Install the MKPlayer from App Store. Then change file type .media to .mp4, then open this file in MKPlayer
Frequently asked questions
Q How can I use it on the second device?
A. Install the app on the second device and use the same login.
Q How can I use it off from the outlet? Place in different ways.
A. You can connect it to a power bank and move to any place and find a
better angle of view.
Q Can anyone see this camera?
A. The camera will be hidden after setup. You can’t see a device
“SmartLife” in your wifi list after setup.
Q Where can I find the reset button?
A. It’s a small hole on the back, between L and M switcher.
Q The camera is offline after a few hours.
A. Try to disconnect the camera from an outlet and connect again. Bring it
closer to your wifi router.
Q Couldn’t connect the camera, can’t see a SmartLife device in a list
A. Make sure that 2.4G is turned on in your router, and you don’t using a
public network. Turn off a firewall in router settings, check that you have
active DHCP service in your router. Reset the camera and try to setup again
Q The camera works only from the USB port, doesn’t work from the outlet

A. Eject the microSD card and plug it into your PC. Install the K-lite

A. Delete the camera from the app, reset the camera and setup again
