ALPHA TECH iQ Charger Wireless

Overview

Remove a protective film before use
Note: the protective film is very thin

• This type of camera doesn’t have an audio recording feature. It’s against Amazon rules. All sellers can’t sell it with an audio recording feature – it’s prohibited.

Before setup

1. Make sure that your camera in the L mode. It’s a small switcher on the back.
2. Place the camera as close as possible to the Wi-Fi router for initial setup.
3. Plug the camera into a wall or a powerbank and wait for 4 minutes.
4. You should setup the camera in a manual mode, do not use a QR code.
5. Do not install the microSD card into the camera before setup.
6. Do not connect your phone to the camera’s Wi-Fi before setup.
7. Do not connect any devices for charging to avoid overheating.

Step 01

• Plug your camera into a wall or a powerbank,wait for 3-4 min
• You should connect it to your Wi-Fi router in the app.
• You can record video only after finishing the setup.
• Place the camera as close as possible to the router for initial setup.

Step 02

1. Check a Wi-Fi list in phone settings
2. Wait until you will see a device SmartLife

• Do not connect your phone to this device before setup.
• If you can’t see it – reset the camera.

Step 03

• Open AppStore or Google Play and install Tuya Smart app or Smart Life app.

Step 04

• Open this app, sign-in with apple, google or create a new account
• You can use the camera on other devices with the same login.

Step 05

• Click “Add a device” or “+” on the top-right

Step 06

1. Click “Camera & Lock”
2. Click “Smart Camera Wi-Fi”

• It’s a smart camera inside. That’s why you should choose a Smart Camera (Wi-Fi) in the menu.

Step 07

1. Click “QR Code” on the top
2. Select “Wi-Fi Mode”, click Next

• The camera doesn’t have any lights on the front and doesn’t make sounds or prompts!
• Just select the Wi-Fi mode and click Next

1. Select your 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi Network

• Check this link, if you have 5G Wi-Fi:

• For privacy reasons, it doesn’t work with public networks like hotels, airports, etc.
• Use portable Wi-Fi Hotspots for it so that you can place the camera anywhere.

Step 09

1. Enter your Wi-Fi password
2. Click Next

• You can use Wi-Fi range extenders to install the camera in the farthest corner of the house or garage.
• If your network is hidden, unhide it. Connect the camera and hide it again.

Step 10

1. Click “Go to connect” It will open Wi-Fi settings on your phone

Step 11

1. Click on a device SmartLife.

• Wait for a check icon or “connected”
• If it says connected without the Internet – click “Keep”

1. Go back to the app

1. If you see “Reconnect” Click on “Confirm hotspot connection ” Or just wait for the completion.

Step 14

1. Wait for 2-4 minutes The camera is connecting to your Wi-Fi router

• If you got an error, try to setup it up again.
• Place the camera closer to your Wi-Fi router.
• Reset the camera. Check your Wi-Fi password.

1. You can rename the camera
2. Click “Done” on the top

Tips from customers

1. For a workaround, just use an extension cord or some type of corded surge protector to place it in an ideal location; just make sure it’s not obvious. You can also use an outlet expander or a swivel adapter.
2. Leave a USB cord plugged into it, but nothing plugged into the cord, just to make it look like it is used often.
3. Install the Wi-Fi range extender to install the camera in the farthest corner of the house or garage.
4. The app has a built-in zoom feature with two fingers on the smartphone screen in remote viewing.
5. Use a personal Wi-Fi hotspot to place the camera anywhere if you don’t have a Wi-Fi router in this place.

How to record videos on the phone without a microSD card

We recommend recording directly to your phone when you are on the same Wi-Fi network.

1. Click on the camera, you will see buttons “Screenshot” and “Record”
2. You can make screenshots or record them directly on your phone.

How to record videos when the app is closed

Step 1

• You should install the microSD card into the camera and setup recording.

1. Turn off the camera, and insert your microSD card (not included, supports from 8Gb to 512Gb).
2. Plug the camera into a wall, wait for 2-3 minutes.
3. Open the camera main menu, and click on the pencil on the top right. Step 2
4. Click on the “Storage settings”, you will see your microSD card capacity
5. Or just format your microSD card in the app
6. Enable “Local recording” in Recording Settings

How to setup Motion Detection

Step 1
You should make steps from “How to record videos when the app is closed” before set up the motion detection

1. Open the camera main menu, and click on a pencil on the top right

2. Click the “Detection Alarm Settings”
3. Enable “Motion Detection Alarm”

Make sure that you enable notifications. If not, you can enable it in the phone settings.

How to check detected movements

Step 1

1. Open the main screen of the app
2. Click on “Me” icon on the bottom

3. Open “Message center”
4. You can see the time when it’s triggered, then you can find it on the playback and check what’s going on

How to use playback

Step 1

1. Click on the camera, you will see a button “Playback”
2. Click on the playback button

3. You can select a date or scroll the timeline
4. You can also make screenshots or record interested movement to your phone

How to change the Wi-Fi network

Step 1

• The best way is to remove the camera from the app when the camera is on.
• If you can’t do it, just remove the camera from the app and reset the camera manually.

1. Open the camera main menu, and click on the pencil on the top right

2. Scroll down and click “Remove Device”
3. The app will remove it and reset it to the default settings
4. Wait for 4-6 minutes and set up it again

How to reset the camera

1. Unplug it from a wall, remove your microSD card from the camera.
2. Connect it using the male-male USB cable to any charger/powerbank.
   • The camera should be connected during the reset!
3. Wait for 3-4 minutes.
4. Press and hold the reset button until lights go off. The reset button is between L and M switcher on the back.
5. Disconnect it from a USB cable and plug it into a wall.
6. Wait for 3-5 min and setup again.

How to watch videos on the PC or Mac

• You should install an additional video player to watch them on the PC
• PC: Install the K-lte Codec Pack Standard with Meda Player Classc, link: https://fles3.codecgude.com/K-Lte_Codec_Pack_1605_Standard.exe
• Then right-click on a video file -> “Open with..” and choose Media Player Classic.
• Mac: Install the MKPlayer from App Store.
• Then change file type .media to .mp4, then open this file in MKPlayer

Q How can I use in on the second device?

• A Install the app on the second device and use the same login.

Q How can I use it off from outlet? Place in different ways.

• A You can connect it to a power bank and move to any place and find a better angle of view.

Q Can anyone see this camera?

• A The camera will be hidden after setup. You can’t see a device “SmartLife” in your wifi list after setup.

Q Where can I find the reset button?

• A It’s a small hole on the back, between L and M switcher.

Q The camera is offline after few hours.

• A Try to unplug the camera from an outlet and plug it back. Place it closer to your Wi-Fi router.

Q Couldn’t connect the camera, can’t see a SmartLife device in a list.

• A Reset the camera. Place the camera closer to your Wi-Fi router. Setup it again.
