Pete Charrette Snowman Fitness Blasts 12 Action Packed Workout
DO YOU WANT TO BUILD A SNOWMAN?
The Snowman Fitness Blasts are a fun and active collection of snowman workout
cards, signs, or posters that can easily be used by a physical education or
classroom teacher to provide their students with a quality, fitness-based
activity that they will absolutely LOVE!
This valuable resource is made up of 12 distinct MINI-BLAST workouts that
provide an energetic, looping movement experience for the students to
participate in. The Fitness Blasts can be applied using a few different
methods within a PE lesson or as a great warm-up activity. Classroom teachers
can use the Snowman Fitness Blasts as a Brain-Boosting activity during those
times of the day when their students just must move!
Each Fitness Blast comes with 6 different fitness or skill-based
exercises/movements that students will perform for a set amount of time (30
seconds).
Station Cards
- Download the Snowman Fitness Blasts Zip folder from my store
- Unzip/Extract the Zip folder on your computer
- Print out the main PDF file
- Laminate the main Fitness Blast cards/signs
- Tape some of the laminated fitness-blast cards on a cone or wall in distinct areas of your gym or classroom
- Break your students up into small groups or partners and have them start at one of the Fitness Blast cards/signs
- Students can start by performing any of the 6 listed exercises
- Use an audible/video timer that runs for 30 seconds while students perform each of the 6 exercises
- Let students know when each 30-second segment is finished
- Rotate the groups around the gym/room to a different Fitness Blast after six, 30-second intervals
Trading Cards
- Download the Snowman Fitness Blasts Zip folder from my store
- Unzip/Extract the Zip folder on your computer
- Print out the main PDF file (2 or 4 Blasts per page)
- Cut and laminate the main Fitness Blast cards
- Break your students up into small groups or partners and give them one of the Fitness Blast cards
- Students can start by performing any of the 6 listed exercises
- Use an audible/video timer that runs for 30 seconds while students perform each of the 6 exercises
- Let students know when each 30-second segment is finished
- After 3 minutes (30 seconds per exercise) have the student’s trade cards with another small group or partner group
- The students continue performing exercises from the Blasts for a set amount of time
PowerPoint and Projector
- Download the Snowman Fitness Blasts Zip folder from my store
- Unzip/Extract the Zip folder on your computer
- Search for the PowerPoint File
- Open the PowerPoint file and hook your computer to a projector
- Put 1 Blast up at a time upon a screen or wall and have the entire class perform the 6 exercises listed
- Students can choose any of the 6 exercises to start
- Use an audible/video timer that runs for 30 seconds while students perform each of the 6 exercises
- After 3 minutes (30 seconds per exercise) put up another card on the screen and repeat
Posters
- Download the Snowman Fitness Blasts Zip folder from my store
- Unzip/Extract the Zip folder on your computer
- Print out the main PDF file or select the individual JPEG slides you like
- Enlarge the Blasts to poster size using a poster-maker or by combining pages on a color printer and assembling
- Laminate the posters
- Tape some of the laminated posters on a wall in distinct areas of your gym or classroom
- Break your students up into small groups or partners and have them start at one of the Fitness Blast posters
- Students can start by performing any of the 6 listed exercises
- Use an audible/video timer that runs for 30 seconds while students perform each of the 6 exercises
- Let students know when each 30-second segment is finished
- Rotate the groups around the gym/room to a different Fitness Blast after six, 30-second intervals
