Getting Started

Overview

The diagram below illustrates a typical setup whereby the Omnia WR-1 would be used.

It is not necessary to use the exact components illustrated in the diagram. The Server could be a dedicated DLNA compatible music server audio equipment (e.g. Omnia S-1) or a PC/Laptop running DLNA server software. You could also connect the Omnia WR-1 to the router using an Ethernet cable and its audio output to an active speaker.
For best performance, we recommend that all audio components, including DLNA Server, connect to the NuPrime Omnia SW-8 network switch.

Setting up the Omnia WR-1

Download and install the Omnia Receiver App to your iOS device from the App Store or your Android device from the Google Play Store.
Before using the Omnia Receiver App, make sure that the Omnia WR-1 has been properly connected according to the instructions below.

  • Plugin the micro USB cable to the Omnia WR-1 power input and the other end of the cable either to a NuPrime USB Extension Port (available on devices such as the IDA-8 and DAC-9) or a 5V USB power source.
  • If not using the NuPrime USB Extension Port, connect the desired audio output (Digital Coax or Analog) to an amplifier or active speaker.
  • For wired network connection, connect the LAN cable from your router to the RJ45 Ethernet port on the Omnia-WR-1
  • Turn on the power of the Omnia WR-1

Configuring the Omnia WR-1

When you first launch the Omnia Receiver App, it will automatically search for the Omnia WR-1. If it does not detect any compatible devices, the App will show the following screen:

Click on Add Device and follow the on-screen instructions to set up the Omnia WR-1 on your network.

Click on Settings which will bring you to your mobile device’s WiFi settings. Select the WiFi network starting
with Omnia Receiver_XXXX| Select the WiFi network for the Omnia Receiver to join and key in the WiFi Password| Wait for a few seconds while the Omnia Receiver connects to the selected WiFi network| Once connected, click Next and you will be prompted to select or customize the device name

App Overview

The Omnia Receiver App basic operations are contained in 3 screens which can be navigated by swiping left or right.

The easy-to-use Omnia Receiver App turns your smartphone into a remote to control music playback on all the Omnia receivers in your home.
The first screen is where you select your music source and access the settings for the App.
The middle screen is the Now Playing screen that shows you what is currently playing and allows you to control your playlist.
The third screen is the Device List screen which lists the connected devices and you can access the settings for the devices here.

Playing Music from your Phone or Local Shares

In the music sources screen, the upper section is where you can access music on your mobile device or local network (DLNA servers). Tap on My Music to see your music libraries.

My Music is divided into 3 sections, the top section contains the Music Libraries, the middle section the Playlists, and the bottom section is Recently Played music. Tap on one of the available Music Library to browse and play music from that library. WR-1 connected USB thumb drive and network DLNA servers will appear as Home Music Share libraries. You can also add any song to your Favorites or Playlist from the song list.

Playing Music from Online Streaming Services

In the music sources screen, the lower section shows the list of online music streaming services. Some of these services require the installation of their mobile app on your device. You will be prompted to install the app if you’ve not done so when you tap on them.

Most of these services can be entirely controlled by the Omnia Receiver App. For Spotify, you will need to have their app installed, and first use their app to play to the Omnia Receiver. You can then control the playlist from the Omnia Receiver App.

Controlling Multiple Omnia Receivers and Re-Streaming

Each Omnia Receiver is independently controlled by the Omnia Receiver App and can be accessed from the Device List.

|
---|---

You can assign different names to each receiver, choose what songs each of them is playing, or even group them to play the same music. To group devices, press and hold a device icon and drag it towards another device or existing group.
Select a group or single device for playing music

Group’s Device Master and Re-Streaming

When multiple devices are grouped, the first device in the group act as the master for the music source. Restreaming happens when the master device receives music from Bluetooth, analog, or optical input and streams it to all other receivers within the group.

SOME COUNTRIES, STATES, AND PROVINCES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY OR CONDITION MAY LAST, SO THE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS DESCRIBED BELOW MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS, AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS THAT VARY BY COUNTRY, STATE, OR PROVINCE. THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS GOVERNED BY AND CONSTRUED UNDER THE LAWS OF THE COUNTRY IN WHICH THE PRODUCT PURCHASE TOOK PLACE.

NuPrime reserves the right to make substitutions and modifications from time to time in the specifications of Products sold by NuPrime provided that such substitutions or modifications do not materially affect overall Product performance.
If a hardware defect exists and a valid claim is received within the Warranty Period, at its option and to the extent permitted by law, NuPrime will (1) repair the hardware defect at no charge, using new or refurbished replacement parts, (2) exchange the product with a product that is new or which has been manufactured from new or serviceable used parts and is at least functionally equivalent to the original product, or (3) refund the purchase price of the product. NuPrime may request that you replace defective parts with user- installable new or refurbished parts that NuPrime provides in fulfillment of its warranty obligation. A replacement product/part assumes the remaining warranty of the original product or ninety (90) days from the date of replacement or repair, whichever provides longer coverage for you. When a product or part is exchanged, any replacement item becomes your property and the replaced item becomes NuPrime’s property. When a refund is given, your product becomes NuPrime’s property.

If you follow instructions, NuPrime will cancel the credit card authorization, so you will not be charged for the product or part and shipping costs. If you fail to return the replaced product or part as instructed or the replaced product or part is not eligible for warranty service, NuPrime will charge the credit card for the authorized amount.
