Safety Notes
- Do not operate the product outside the power limits given in the specifications.

- Use the item only in moderate climatic conditions.
- Lay all cables so that they do not pose a tripping hazard.
- Do not bend or crush the cable.
Warning
- Before disconnecting a hard drive from the hard drive adapter, ensure that the data transfer process is complete.
- Always use the Eject function on your operating system (computer, smartphone, tablet/Windows, Mac OS, Android) before disconnecting the hard drive from the hard drive adapter.
- If you do not do this, data may be lost.
- Under no circumstance does Hama GmbH & Co KG accept liability for loss of data stored on data storage media.
Risk of electric shock
- Do not open the device or continue to operate it if it becomes damaged.
- Do not use the product if the AC adapter, adapter cable or power cable is damaged.
- Do not attempt to service or repair the product yourself. Leave any and all service work to qualified experts.
- Ensure that the total power consumption of all connected terminal devices does not exceed 2.0 A.

- It is essential that you observe these specifications and the safety instructions regarding the power supply of your devices.
Startup and Operation
Warning
- Only operate the product from a socket that has been approved for the device. The socket must be installed close to the product and must be easily accessible.
- Disconnect the product from the power supply using the On/Off switch – if this is not available, unplug the power cord from the socket.
- If using a multi-socket power strip, make sure that the total power consumption of all connected devices does not exceed the power strip’s maximum throughput rating.
- If you will not be using the product for a prolonged period, disconnect it from mains power.
- Connect the hard drive carefully to the hard drive adapter. The hard drive must be positioned on a level, stable and non-metallic surface.
- Connect the power pack to a properly installed mains socket and then to the hard drive adapter.
- Switch on your computer and boot the system.
- Connect the product to a free USB port on your computer.
- You do not have to install drivers; the computer will automatically recognise the product.
- If necessary, follow the instructions for your operating system.
- The product can now be used.
Note
- If the hard drive is already partitioned and data is on the hard drive,you can access that data.
- New or unpartitioned hard drives must be partitioned and formatted after initialisation. Refer to the operating system manual for your computer/notebook for the necessary steps to do so.
