Thank you for purchasing the ODIN C-497 radar/laser developed by Rocky
Mountain Radar. ODIN C-497 is the first and unique sophisticated radar and
laser detector in the world which has very good performance.
We are pleased to have you as a valued customer and hope you will be delighted
with your ODIN C-497. This manual provides all the information you need
putting the ODIN C-497 to work for you.

This equipment should be installed and operated with a minimum distance of 20
centimeters between the radiator and your body or nearby persons.

1. If Self test mode is on, Self-test will start in the order of the following after the start message «Rocky Mountain Radar»
- Scrambler Test ( Only if Scrambler mode is on )
- X Alarm (Signal Strength level 1-5)
- K Alarm (Signal Strength level 1-5)
- Ka Alarm (Signal Strength level 1-5)
- Laser Alarm
User settings on Voice on/off, language, Alarm Sound Tone, Scrambler ON/Off will be applied as they are.
1.1. Display and Audio Alarms on Self Test Mode

BUTTON OPERATION
1. [MENU] Button
1.1. Press the [MENU] Button to enter MENU Mode
2. [MUTE] Button
- Press the [MUTE] button to change Mute Mode (Mute Off -> Mute On -> AutoMute )
-> Mute Off: “□□□□MUTE□OFF□□□□” with voice message (if the voice is on) or with 3beeps (if the voice is off)
-> Mute On: “□□□□MUTE□ON□□□□□” with voice message (if the voice is on) or with 1beep (if the voice is off)
-> AutoMute: “□□□□AUTO MUTE□□□□” with voice message (if the voice on) or with 2beeps (if the voice is off) - [CITY] Button
3.1. Press to change City Mode ( HIGHWAY <-> CITY )
-> Highway: “□□□□□HIGHWAY□□□□” with voice message (if the voice is on) or with 2beeps (if the voice is off)
-> City: “□□□□□□CITY□□□□□□” with voice message (if the voice is on) or with 1beep (if the voice is off) - Press and hold for 3sec. to change Scrambler Mode ( Scrambler On <-> Scrambler Off )
-> Scrambler On: “□□SCRAMBLER□ON□□” with 1beep
-> Scrambler Off: “□□SCRAMBLER□OFF□” with 2beeps
[DIM] Button
1.1. Press [DIM] Button to change Dim Mode ( BRIGHT -> DIM -> DIMMER -> DARK)
-> BRIGHT: “□□□□□BRIGHT□□□□□” with voice message (if the voice is on), or with 4beeps (if the voice is off)
-> DIM: “□□□□□□DIM□□□□□□□” with voice message (if the voice is on) or with 1beep (if the voice is off)
-> DIMMER: “□□□□□DIMMER□□□□□” with voice message (if the voice is on) or with 2beeps (if the voice is off)
-> DARK: “□□□□□□DARK□□□□□□” with voice message (if the voice is on) or with 3beeps (if the voice is off).
If the setting is finished, you will see a small dot moving from left to right
on display.
Menu Mode
1. Press and hold the [DIM/MENU] button for 3sec. to enter Menu Mode.
The display will show “□□□□=□MENU□=□□□□” with 1beep.

3. Button Operation on Menu Mode
3.1. [DIM] Button: Scroll down on the menu with one beep
3.2. [MENU] Button: Scroll up on the menu with one beep
3.3. [MENU] or [CITY] button: Change or Select option on the menu
4. You can choose one of the following in order to Exit Menu mode,
- Select “Menu Exit” on the menu list.
- Press and hold [MENU] for 3sec. while on Menu Mode
- Do nothing for more than 10sec.
The unit will flash “□□□□□□EXIT□□□□□□” twice with 2beeps and exit Menu Mode.
Test Mode
1. Tutorial Mode
Test alarm will start in the following order.
- Scrambler Test
- K Alarm (Signal Strength 1-5 level)
- Ka Alarm (Signal Strength 1-5 level)
- Laser Alarm
User settings on Voice On/Off mode, Voice Language mode, Alarm Sound Tone will
be applied as they are during Test Mode.
2. Display and sound during Test Mode
- “□SCRAMBLER□TEST□” ( Display & Scrambler Test Sound )
- “□□□□K□▶□□□□□1□□□” ~ “□□□□K□▶▶▶▶▶□5□□□” ( K Display & Sound Alarm )
- “□□□Ka□▶□□□□□1□□□” ~ “□□□Ka□▶▶▶▶▶□5□□□” ( Ka Display & Sound Alarm )
- “□□□□□LASER□□□□□□” ( Laser Display & Sound Alarm )
3. Display will show “□□□□TEST□END□□□□” with 1beep when test alarm is
finished.
4.Press any button ( [DIM/MENU], [MUTE], [CITY], [TEST] to stop test alarm
during Test Mode.
Factory Reset
1. When “Factory Reset?” is selected on the menu, all settings will be reset
to factory default.
The display will flash “□RESET□COMPLETED” twice with 3 beeps.

Auto Mute Mode
1. Voice Off Mode
1.1. When the alarm starts, the unit will alert with 4beeps and mute audio for
2minutes, and again alert with 4beeps and keep muted for 2minutes, it will go
on this way until 2 minutes after the signal is gone.
1.2. If another band is detected during AutoMute on the first band signal, the
unit will restart the alert with 4beeps and keep muted for 2 minutes and go on
this way until 2 minutes after the signal is gone.

RD ( X, K, Ka-Band ) has 5 levels to show its signal strength.
2. Beep Sound Alarm
2.1. Beep sound has 4 levels for K and Ka-Band based on its signal strength.
2.2. For laser alarm, the unit always makes the highest level (4 levels) beep
sound.
Operation with Smartphone via Bluetooth
ODIN has a Bluetooth module in it so you can connect ODIN via Bluetooth to a smartphone and operate it with the smartphone such as menu setting and alert display, etc.
LIMITED WARRANTY
The manufacturer warrants your ODIN C-497 against all defects in materials and
workmanship for a period of one(1) year from the date of the original
purchase, subject to
the following terms and conditions: The sole responsibility of the
manufacturer under this Warranty is limited to either repair or, at the option
of the manufacturer, replacement of the ODIN C-497. There are no expressed or
implied warranties, including those of fitness for a particular purpose or
merchantability, which extend beyond the face hereof.
Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so
the above limitation may not apply to you.
