SMARTSTART SmartMobile Basic Unit
SETTING UP THE SMART MOBILE BASIC UNIT
Connect the power supply cord to the SmartMobile Basic™ device and plug it into an electrical outlet. The unit display will show “Initializing,” and then “Ready.” If the battery is completely dead, it may take a few minutes to initialize the device. Place the mouthpiece in the nozzle found on top of the smart mobile Basic device (as show below).
HOW TO TAKE A TEST
- We recommend drinking or swishing with water before each test to eliminate any potential contaminants.
- Take a deep breath and blow steadily into the mouthpiece until the device stops beeping and you hear a click. During the test, the display will show “Testing – Keep Blowing.”
- After testing, the display will show “Analyzing – Please Wait.” It will show “Ready” when the test is complete, or show a message that indicates an incomplete test. Follow the directions on the screen.
REMINDERS
- Make sure the room or testing area is well-lit.
- Do not use a breath freshening agent before taking a test. Most of these contain alcohol.
- It is a violation of your program for another person to take a test on your device.
- See image to ensure the correct face-to-camera position.
DISPLAY MESSAGES
Service Lockoutin Hours The number of hours remaining to have your device serviced before it goes into lockout. DO NOT IGNORE THE GRACE PERIOD WARNING.
Violation Lockoutin Hours A reminder of the number of hours remaining
before the unit goes into lockout due to violations. DO NOT IGNORE THE GRACE
PERIOD WARNING.
If your device enters “Service” or “Violation” lockout, take it to your
nearest service center as soon as possible. Go to

nearest shop.
