This marking indicates that this product should not be disposed with other
household waste throughout the EU. To prevent possible harm to the environment
or human health from uncontrolled waste disposal, recycle it responsibly to
promote the sustainable reuse of material resources. To return your used
device, please use the return and collection systems or contact the retailer
where the product was purchased. They can take this product for environmental
safe recycling.
Important safety instructions
General safety
- Remove the packaging and check the appliance for completeness.
- Read the user manual carefully and keep it for future reference.
- Check whether the voltage of the appliance corresponds to the voltage of the local mains before using the appliance (underside the kettle & powerbase). If this is not the case, contact your dealer and stop using the kettle.
- Make sure the appliance is placed on a flat and stable surface, out of reach of children.
- Do not use the appliance outdoors.
- Keep the appliance away from hot surfaces (like on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven), moisture and sharp edges.
- The appliance is developed for domestic use.
- Do not use the appliance other than its intended use to avoid potential injuries.
- The appliance can be used by children aged over 8 and by individuals with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities, or those who lack knowledge or experience, providing that they are under supervision or have received instructions on how to use the appliance and understand the hazards involved.
- Children shall not play with the appliance. The appliance must not be maintained or cleaned by children younger than 8 years and without supervision.
- Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children younger than 8 years.
- The appliance is not a toy. Do not let the children play it.
- The use of accessories, which are not recommended by the appliance manufacturer, may result in fire, electric shock or personal injury.
- This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
- Staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
- Farm houses;
- By clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
- Bed and breakfast type environments.
- Be aware that the outside may become very hot during use.
Special safety
- Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid, nor make it wet with a very wet cloth, sponge, or the like.
- The appliance must be turned off and the plug must be pulled out of the socket when cleaning, not in use or if problems occur during brewing.
- Never place the appliance in a room where the temperature can drop to below 0°C/32°F.
- Check the appliance, cord and plug regularly on any damage.
- Do not use the appliance if the cord, plug or the appliance itself is damaged. If damaged it must be repaired by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid hazardous situations.
- This appliance is exclusively designed for domestic use and similar usages.
- The appliance should not be placed in a cabinet when in use.
Product safety
- Never touch hot surfaces, always use the handles or buttons of the appliance.
- Do not place the kettle in a microwave oven.
- Never use polluted, unsafe, or suspicious water.
- Do not operate the appliance when empty, to avoid damaging the heat elements.
- While water is boiling, or just after the water has been boiled, avoid contacting with steam from the spout.
- Always take care to pour boiling water slowly and carefully without tipping the kettle too fast.
- Be careful of refilling when the kettle is hot.
- The attached base can not be used for other than intended use.
- Do not fill the water tank with water above the “ MAX”-indication (1.0 litres).
- Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot water.
- Unplug the kettle from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow the kettle to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
- To disconnect, turn any control to ‘off’ then remove plug from wall outlet.
- Use the kettle only with the provided powerbase.
- If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may spill out.
- Always ensure the lid is closed and do not lift it while the water is boiling. Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during the heating process.
Unpacking
Remove all items from the packaging. Retain the packaging. If you dispose of it please do so according to local regulations. The following items are included:

First time use
NOTE
- To reduce the risk of fire or electrical shock, do not remove any service covers.
- There are no user serviceable parts inside.
- Repairs should be done by qualified personnel only.
- Do not touch the vulnerable parts inside

Place the powerbase on a flat and stable surface.

Open the lid and fill the kettle with fresh cold water.
NOTE- The maximum capacity of the kettle is 1.0 liter.
- The water level should not exceed the ‘MAX’ mark (see the inside), as water may spill out of the spout when boiling.
- Too little water (less than 500 ml) will result in inaccurate temperature indication.

Place the lid firmly in place.

Put the kettle on the powerbase.

Connect the plug into a socket.

Press down the switch to ‘I’ position, the indicator will light up.

Wait until the kettle will switch off automatically (the indicator will switch off).

Discard the hot water.
-
Repeat step 2 till 8.

Wipe the outside with a damp cloth.

The water kettle is now ready for use.
NOTE
The temperature zone indicated in red at the thermometer is ideal for coffee. For the correct tea temperature please check with your tea specialty store as this may vary per type of tea.
Operation
CAUTION
Do not touch the vulnerable parts inside.

To fill the kettle, remove it from the powerbase.
-
Open the lid manually and fill the kettle with the desired amount of water.
NOTE- The maximum capacity of the kettle is 1.0 liter.
- The water level should not exceed the ‘MAX’ mark (see the inside), as water may spill out of the spout when boiling.
- Too little water (less than 500 ml) will result in inaccurate temperature indication.

Close the lid firmly.

Put the kettle back on the powerbase.

Connect the plug into a socket.
-
Press down the switch to ‘I’ position, the indicator will light up. The kettle starts to boil the water and will switch off automatically (the indicator will be extinguished once the water has boiled).
NOTE- You can shut off the power by lift up the switch to the ‘O’ position at any moment during boiling water. If you want to boil water again, only turn on the switch to restart the kettle.
- Ensure that the switch is free of obstructions and the lid is firmly closed, the kettle will not turn off if the switch is constrained or if the lid is open.

Lift the kettle from the powerbase to pour the water.
CAUTION- Don’t open the lid while the water in the kettle is hot.
- Operate carefully when pouring the water from your kettle as boiling water may result in scald.
NOTE
- The kettle will not re-boil until the switch is pressed down again.
- The kettle may be stored on the powerbase when not in use.
Boil-dry protection
Should you accidentally let the kettle operate without water, the boil-dry protection will auto-matically switch off the power. If this happens, allow the kettle to cool down before refilling it with cold water.
Cleaning
CAUTION
- Be sure to unplug this appliance before cleaning. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the mains cable, mains plug or the appliance in water or liquids.
- Allow the kettle to cool down before cleaning.
- Never clean any parts of the water kettle in the dishwasher.
Wipe the appliance’s exterior surface with a soft, damp cloth or cleaner to remove stains. Do not use strong detergents or aggressive cleaners. Do not touch the vulnerable parts inside.
NOTE
Do not use chemical or abrasive cleaners to clean the outside of the kettle to
prevent the gloss loss.
Descaling
You can use the commercially available Espressions descaler (EP002) and follow the instructions on the package of descaler.

Terms of guarantee
This ESPRESSIONS kitchen appliance has been made to a very high degree of excellence in quality and design. However, should there be, within the guarantee period, any defects found in the materials or in the operation, and if we feel it is appropriate, we will replace the defective parts or effect repairs in accordance with the terms of guarantee stated below. This 2-year guarantee applies to parts as well as the costs of labour only in the case of domestic use. Postage costs are not included.
These terms of guarantee are provided in addition to, and will not be prejudicial to, your legal rights. This guarantee does not cover postage or transport costs incurred in the return of the appliance. This guarantee only applies to products that have been purchased and remain within the Benelux countries. The guarantee does not apply to any plugs, electric leads or fuses, and also does not apply to any defects resulting from:
- Normal wear and tear of the appliance or parts in respect of use.
- Failure to follow the instructions for use in respect of use or maintenance.
- Connecting the product to a power source not suitable to the purpose.
- Damaged caused by incorrect use or misuse of the product.
- Any modifications made to the product by anyone else other than the service personnel authorized by IT&M.
- The dismantling of or any other interference with the product.
- Theft or attempt of theft of the product.
- Breakages or defects resulting from transport.
Before you return this product under the terms of this guarantee, please make sure:
- that you have followed the instructions for this product properly.
- that the power supply to the equipment is working and that you have plugged in the appliance.
- that the defect is not a result of a faulty fuse.
If you wish to make a claim under the terms of this guarantee, then please:
- Return the product by post or transport services to the dealer from whom the product was purchased or directly to IT&M.
- Ensure that the product is clean and carefully and suitably packed for transportation, preferably in its original packing.
- Enclose information in respect of your contact details (name, address telephone number) and where and when the product was purchased, together with a copy of the receipt.
- Describe the exact nature of the defect.
This guarantee does not cover any other claims whatsoever, including and
without any exception, any liability for additional, indirect or resulting
damage. It also does not cover any costs for modify cations or repairs carried
out by third parties without the express permission of IT&M. If any part of or
the whole appliance is replaced, the guarantee period will not be extended.
The original date of purchase shall still apply as the commencement of the
guarantee period.
