KARCHER PS 30 Plus Power Scrubber Surface Cleaner

General notes

Read the original instructions before using the device for the first time and act in accordance with it. Keep the original instructions for future reference or for future owners.

Safety instructions

CAUTION

  • Do not use the device when persons are in the vicinity of the cleaning head.

  • Switch the high-pressure cleaner off and disconnect the power scrubber from the high-pressure gun after finishing cleaning work and before performing an  work on the high-pressure cleaner.

  • Do not trigger the high-pressure jet at the high-pressure gun until the power scrubber is on the  surface to be cleaned.

  • Recoil danger. Keep proper footing and hold the highpressure gun and extension tube firmly.

  • Maximum water temperature 60 °C (please observe  the instructions for your high-pressure cleaner).

Intended use

The power scrubber PS 30 Plus can be used with all Kärcher Home & Garden pressure washers manufactured in 1992 or later, up to a pressure of 18 MPa (180 bar / 2600 psi).
For devices manufactured up to 1991, an additional  adapter is required (see chapter Accessories and spare parts ).
The power scrubber is ideally suited for high-pressure cleaning of primarily smooth, outdoor floor areas and stairs with various different surfaces such as tiles, stone, concrete, plastic and wood.
Indoor areas such as laundry rooms or garages can also be cleaned as long as they have suitable water drainage facilities.
Only use the power scrubber PS 30 Plus in private households.

Only use original accessories and original spare parts. They ensure that the appliance will run fault-free and safely. Information on accessories and spare parts can be found at www.kaercher.com.

Mounting the extension tube

Note
Ensure that the device components are tightly connected on installation.

  1. Insert the bayonet connection into the mounting.
  2. Turn the extension tube until it engages in place.
  3.  Tighten the union nut.
    Repeat the procedure for further extension tubes if applicable.

Initial startup

Note
You can use the extension tubes with any KÄRCHER accessories.
The extension tubes must be installed prior to use (see chapter Mounting the extension tube).

  1. Connect the device to the high-pressure gun

Operation

Cleaning floor areas

Remove coarse dirt from the surface to be cleaned (e.g. by sweeping) before using the device to avoid damage.
Note

  • Test the device on an inconspicuous area before using on sensitive surfaces, e. g. wood.
  • Do not allow it to remain in one area, but keep it in motion.
  1. Place the power scrubber onto the surface to be cleaned.

  2. Make sure the side nozzle is directed towards the floor area. If this is not the case, turn the rotary knob clockwise to adjust the side nozzle until it is pointing downwards.

  3. Unlock the lever of the high-pressure gun.

  4. Press the lever of the high-pressure gun. The device switches on.

  5. Clean the floor area.

  6. Wet, smooth surfaces can be dried using the squeegee blade.

Cleaning edges and corner areas

The side nozzle and cleaning head can be turned for convenient cleaning of edges and corner areas.

  1. Turn the rotary knob counter-clockwise to adjust the side nozzle.

    The side nozzle is directed to the side.

  2. If necessary, turn the cleaning head in the desired direction.

  3. Unlock the lever of the high-pressure gun.

  4. Press the lever of the high-pressure gun. The device switches on.

  5. Clean the edges or corner areas using even movements.

After use

Rinse off the device with a gentle water stream after use.

  • Remove the power scrubber and extension tubes, if applicable, from the high-pressure gun.
  • Rinse off the power scrubber with the high-pressure gun (without accessories) or wipe down with a damp cloth.

Storage

Store the device in a frost-protected place

Care and service

Removing/Installing the nozzles

The described procedure applies to all nozzles on the device.

  1. Remove the clip.
  2. Pull the high-pressure nozzle out.
  3. Fit the high-pressure nozzle.
  4. Fit the clip
Cleaning the high-pressure nozzle
  1. Remove the high-pressure nozzle.
  2. Flush the high-pressure nozzle with clear water in both directions. Replace a damaged high-pressure nozzle where necessary.
  3. Install the high-pressure nozzle
Replacing the squeegee blade

A damaged or worn squeegee blade can be replaced without the use of tools.

  1. Lift up the squeegee blade.
  2. Pull the squeegee blade up and out of the power scrubber.
  3. Fit the new squeegee blade into the groove and press firmly into place.

Troubleshooting guide

The high-pressure cleaner does not build up pressure or it pulses The high- pressure nozzles are blocked or damaged

  1. Remove the high-pressure nozzles.
  2. Check the high-pressure nozzles for clogging and clean if necessary.
  3. Check the high-pressure nozzles for damage and replace if necessary.
  4. Flush the power scrubber with clear water without the nozzles fitted.
  5. Install the high-pressure nozzles
