    SPEED CAMERA ALERT FUNCTION
The speed camera alert function utilizes a database that is part of the camera firmware. The current firmware version with a radar database for possible update is located on the website www.niceboy.eu in the support section. For the speed camera alert function, it is necessary to have a cable with a GPS module connected to the camera and the power supply must be active at the same time. The speed camera warning is accompanied by an acoustic prompt (the Acoustic Settings fuction must be active) and graphical warning on the display (if the display is switched on), provided the Speed Camera Alert function is activated in the camera Menu:niceboy-428576-Pilot-Q9-Rada-Dash-Cam-
Car-3

  5.  Type of speed camera

  6.  Maximum permitted speed at the speed camera point

  7.  Distance to speed camera

  8.  Current vehicle speed

GPS
The GPS module is located on the supplied USB cable. For the GPS to function properly, the module must be positioned with a direct view of the skies – use the supplied sticker to attach it to the windshield. The GPS function is not guaranteed when the windscreen is heated or embossed. Connect the cable with the GPS module to the camera via the USB on the camera (5) and the also to the power supply in the car. GPS on the camera only works when the power is on.

GPS PLAYER
Download the installation file for the GPS player from the web-site www.niceboy.eu in the support section. Run the installation file on the PC and follow the instructions on the screen.
The GPS player shows the vehicle‘s route on the map, coor-dinates and speed based on the previously recorded video currently playing.
Notice:
after installing the GPS player, it is necessary to run it for the first time on the PC as an administrator (by clicking on the player‘s icon with the right mouse button and „run as administrator“). The GPS player can be installed on a PC running Windows or later. For smooth video playback on the player, we recommend copying videos from the memory card to a disc on your PC. The player does not support videos recorded with the H.265 codec.

MICROSD CARD
Choose a microSD card from an original manufacturer with fast video recording (type UHS-I U3 or faster) with a maximum capacity of 128GB. Before using the camera for the first time, it is necessary to format the card on a PC with the FAT32 file system (formatting the memory card will erase all data on the card). Insert the memory card into the camera with the PINs facing the camera display.
Recommendation: format the memory card regularly on a PC to avoid video recording problems. If the camera is used on daily basis, format the card at least once per month. For more information on using a memory card and formatting it, contact the manufacturer of the selected memory card.

SWITCHING THE CAMERA ON / OFF AUTOMATICALLY

As soon as the camera detects charging, it will automatically switch on and start recording (an inserted memory card is required). When the camera gets disconnected from the power supply, it will stop recording and switches itself off.

CAMERA POWER SUPPLY
The camera can be connected to a power source by a car char-ging adapter (included in the product package), or by an USB cable connected to a PC or a charging adapter from a mobile phone. You can also use a power bank. For the GPS function, it is necessary to connect the camera to the power supply using only the supplied original GPS cable.
Notice:
the camera is not equipped with a battery, but a super-capacitor, which is safer from the point of view of use in the car (it is not damaged due to changes in temperature, it better tolerates both frost and high temperatures). For this reason, the camera can only be used when permanently connected to the power supply.

CONNECTING THE CAMERA TO A PC

Connect the USB data cable (not included) to the miniUSB port of the camera and the other end to the USB in the PC. After connecting to a PC, you will have the following modes to choose from:

  1.  Storage: it is possible to manage files that are stored on a memory card (camera acts as external storage)

  2.  PC camera: can be used as a camera in programs that allow the connection of an external camera (microphone cannot be used).
    Notice:
supported systems are Windows 8 and later and MacOS 11 and later.
CONNECTING THE CAMERA TO THE PHONE VIA WI-FI
Install the LuckyCam application (for free) on your phone (in the Appstore for iOS and GooglePlay for Android). Do not start the application right after installing it and follow the instructions:

  3.  Turn the Wi-Fi in the camera on by selecting it in the menu.

  4.  Open the Wi-Fi settings on your mobile phone and connect to the camera network (name: PILOT Q9 RADAR, password: 1234567890).

  5.  Once connected to the network, launch the application and you can start controlling the camera with your phone.
    Notice:
before running the application, enable all the permissi-ons of the application in the phone settings, turn off the „data connection“ of the mobile phone and leave only Wi-Fi turned on. The application can only be installed on mobile phones with iOS 8.0 and later and on devices with Android 6.0 and later.
