Product overview

This product is a leading Ultra HD Digital Vehicle Recorder. Equipped with UHD 4K@30fps with NOVATEK NT-966700 processor+ SONY IMX335 Sensor for excellent low light sensitivity and high dynamic range which allows you to record continuous high-quality video playbacks and brings phenomenal 4K UHD resolution videos even at night without the need for infrared sensors. It has superior night vision technology which captures superb video under all low- light conditions. It has advanced built-in Wi-Fi, GPS, G-Sensor, Audio recording, Loop recording, Motion detection, Parking mode, 24-HR Parking Mode and USB output.

Important Notice

  •  This car camera is intended for use in motor vehicle only. Do not install the camera where it might block the driver’s view of road (including the mirrors) or the deployment of the air bags.
  •  Before using this device, please insert the memory card first, and need to format micro SD card to FAT32 format on PC firstly then format the memory card in camera menu.
  •  This camera records video at high resolution. Recommend use high speed Class 10, U3 Speed Micro SD Card or above is recommended. Max Support 258GB Micro SD Card.
  •  Be sure the camera lens is dean and there is nothing blocking the lens.
  •  DO NOT leave the camera in direct sunlight for a long period of time or where the temperature could go above 140° F(60°C).Make sure you are using the original included power adapter to power the unit.

Warm Tips:

  1.  Ideally, the Micro SD card should be formatted monthly to maximize the lifetime of the memory card.
  2.  Please do not remove the card while the camera is recording to prevent data loss/corruption.
  3.  This camera features built-in battery as internal power, it’s used only for emergency recording and saving settings after external power supply cuts off (car turns off). This dash camera will not turn on without external power supply. Please keep the car charger plug in always.

SHORTCUTS & UNDERSTANDING BUTTONS

BUTTON IMAGE SHORTCUTS/ FUNCTIONS
In the video recording mode:short press to start/stop video recording.long

INSTALLATION

  1.  Attach the suction cup mount to the camera’s mount connector, pushing it in until it clicked.
  2.  Clean the car windshield.
  3. Attach the suction cup mount to the windshield, then rotate the locking clamp on the suction cup 90° upward until it clicks. Make sure there is no air inside the suction cup, last rotate to fix the bracket.
  4. Adjust the viewing angle of the dash cam to get a good view.
  5. Connect the car charger to the car cigarette lighter, then insert the USB end of the charger into the USB power port of the dash camera, please refer to the below picture. (Charger input: DC 12-24V, Output DC 5V 2A)
  6.  Stick the GPS module on the upper edge of the windshield and insert the plug into the GPS port of the dash camera.
  7. Start the car, the power cord car charger red indicator will light up. The dash cam will auto power on and start recording.
    Note:
    CD After powering on the dash cam through the car charger, the dash cam will automatically turn on and start recording (if the card has been inserted).To change settings, please firstly stop recording. The built-in battery is only used to power the “parking monitor” function. In normal use, please plug the car charger into the cigarette lighter of the car to power the dash cam. The built-in battery is not recommended as a normal power supply for the dash cam. This is to avoid parking monitoring failure caused by running out of battery while the car is parked. Ql The 24H parking monitor function need hardwire kit.

Format Memory Card

To record normally, please format the memory card before using. Every time you insert the memory card, please format it in the camera to ensurethat the micro SD card is compatible with the camera. Enter the setup setting, press (m) to choose “Format”, press ((9) to enter the memory card option, pressor ( m) choose “Cancel” or “OK”, press to confirm and exit.

Operating Mode

  1. VANBAR DC400 Dash Cam has 3 different camera modes:Video Recording Mod Photo Mode Playback Mode

Video Recording Mode:

  •  short press to start/stop video recording manually, long press to enter photo mode.
  •  Press to turn on/off audio recording
  •  short press to switch the view mode quickly from either the full­screen display of front/inside view or the picture-in-picture display from both cameras. Long press to turn on/off the camera.
  •  Pres to enter the playback mode.
  •  short press  to enter the video setting. Long press to turn on WIFI.

Video recording menu
Press to enter ( (!)/”if ) the video setting menu and set the value according your needs.

Resolution:
By default (dual camera recording mode) 4K, 4K+1080P, 2K+ 1080P You can choose the video resolution you like. Higher resolution videos will take more storage space.

Loop Recording:
Off, 1 Minute, 3 Minutes, 5 Minutes This function allows you to set video file length to 1/3/5 minutes per video clip. Select a value to activate loop recording, so when storage fills up, it will automatically loop back to the earliest file and record over it.

Dual Cam Display:
Front, Rear, Front/Rear Exposure Value : Adjustable exposure value, used to change the image brightness, Default is O

Motion Detection: This function allows the camera to start recording when it detects movement. Default setting is Off.

Record Audio: Off,On

Date Stamp: Off,On

G Sensor(Emergency recording):
Critical event detection is triggered by the Gravity Sensor and will auto- detect vehicle impacts and collisions. This will cause the camera to protect the current video clip from being overwritten
by locking it and saving the footage in the “Video /EMR” folder, and cannot be automatically overwritten. It will need you delete them manually. The gravity sensitivity is adjustable with 4 settings: Off /Low /Medium /High. It
is set to medium by default. The gravity sensing can also bedeactivated in video setup
Warm tips:
EMR folder has accumulated 30% of the card capacity. Please regularly transfer and save important videos to your computer or another storage location like external hard drive. To maintain good read/write performance, the micro SD card should be formatted every 1 or 2 weeks.

Photo Mode
Long press to enter the photo mode.

While in the photo mode:

  •  short press  take a snapshot, long press to enter video recording mode
  •  Press  to switch photo resolution.

  •  Press ( m) to enter the playback mode.

Playback Mode:

  1.  Playing back videos or photos on dash camera You can choose to playback unlocked files, locked files. You can also choose thefront camera and the inside camera. Press ( m) to playback the videos or photos which are stored on the card.
  2.  After entering the playback interface, press ( ) to choose the folder of unlocked videos , then press ) to choose the folder of the front camera or inside  camera video, then press

Option :
Take out the card from the dash cam, insert the card into a card reader,and then insert the card reader into a USB port of the computer. You can now access videos on the card.

Playing Videos on a Computer

Download the “RoadCam” app on the App Store or Google Play .Or scan the QC code

CONNECT WITH THE APP

  1. Long press the WIFI ( G /”‘ff ) button on the camera to turn on the WIFI, the corresponding information of WIFI will appear.
  2.  Open your smartphone’s Wifi settings and connect to the Wifi name that’s shown on the dashcam. Enter the password and confirm the Wifi network.
  3. Open the “RoadCam” app, tap to connect the camera and wait a few seconds to enter the preview interface.
  4. After connecting the camera, you can tap the video or photo icon to control the dashcam recording videos or shooting photos.

Change Recording Settings
You can change recording settings in the app.

  • Speed Compensation: -3,-2,-1,0,+1,+2,+3
  • Time Zone: Select the information according your needs.
  • Format: Format the card on the dash cam
  • Default setting: Restore the original settings.
  • Firmware Info: Check the camera’s firmware version
    Notice:
    Parking monitor: Default is Off. Press down followed by OK to toggle it Off/On. In Parking Mode, with this function on, after you stop the car and the camera powers off, it will stay in standby, when camera detects shocking, it will automatically turn on and take a short video and locked it, then shut down automatically. The sensor sensitivity can be adjusted to Low /Medium/ High in gravity sensing option to set.
    Warm tips:
    To ensure the camera is able to function in parking mode, please use hard wire kit install it directly to the car battery.

Troubleshooting

  1. Q: The image is blurry.
    A: The windshield will reflect the light, please adjust the camera’s viewing angle.

  2. Q: The camera suddenly turns off.
    A: Make sure it is properly connected to the car charger.

  3. Q: The camera unable to be turned on.
    A: Please make sure that the charging indicator is on. If off, please re­insert the car charger and reset the camera.

  4. Q: All buttons are not responding.
    A: Please reset the camera to restart.

  5. Q: The camera doesn’t record automatically after turning on.
    A: Check if the memory card is full. Reformat the memory card. If this does not work, insert a new class 10 or above memory card.

  6. Q: No sound on the video.
    A: Please ensure the voice icon is ( J ) when recording, if it is ( ) , please turn on it to.

  7. Q: The computer does not recognize the camera.
    A: Try connecting via a different USB cable.

  8. Q: The camera keeps turning on and off automatically.
    A: Please charge the camera via the included car charger, do not charge via other power adapters.
