for regulator model).
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Please read these instructions carefully before handling your Superfan:
- Always ensure that the power to the fan/fan terminal is OFF and is safe to work. Take precautionary steps to the avoid power being restored to the terminal accidentally.
- Electrical wiring to the terminal must be done by a qualified electrician only.
Please install the fan with the minimum clearances given in the figure below to avoid performance loss.
Remove all the items from the box and gently place them on a clean, soft
surface. The blades must be carefully handled to avoid deformation resulting
in less-than-optimal performance. Hold the motor in a stable position with the
shaft pointing upwards. Mount the blades to the motor using the screws and
spring washers. Tighten the screws sufficiently. Do not let the fan rest on the
blades to avoid deformation.
Note: 60 inch may need the motor to be rested on raised platform to avoid
the fan resting on the blade. Fix the slit end of the downrod tightly onto the
shaft using the bolt, washers, spring washers, and nuts. Insert the cotter pin
through the bolt hole and bend its ends to fasten it. Insert the phase wire
(usually red) and the neutral wire (usually black) through the hole on the
side of the downrod at the top. Pull them out of the slit and connect them to
the terminal block. In the safety rope assembly, unscrew the metal clamp to
part it into two pieces, and unwind the safety rope. Pass the un-beaded end of
the safety rope through the support clip from bottom to top. Pull out through
the support clip until the beaded end fastens to the support clip.
Insert the free end of the safety rope through the hole in the downrod that is free from wires. Push the safety rope through the downrod and pull it out from the hole on the side of the downrod at the top.
Insert the bottom canopy (one without the logo) through the downrod. Place the canopy holder on top of the bottom canopy such that it rests on the inner step of the canopy. Now insert the top canopy (one with the logo) through the downrod and pull it down through the canopy holder until it is obstructed by the bottom canopy. The top of the downrod must be visible as shown in the figure. Fix the shackle kit in the ceiling hook. Ensure the tightness of the shackle nut so that the rubber support holds the clamp in the ceiling firmly. Fix the fan assembly onto the shackle using bolt, washer, spring washer, nuts and ensure tightness. Put the cotter pin into the bolt hole and bend its two ends apart to lock. After the fan is secured by the shackle kit, pass the safety rope through one pair of holes in one piece of the metal clamp as shown in the figure. Loop through the ceiling hook and pass the free end through the other pair of holes in the same piece of the metal clamp. Leave a slack on the loop so the fan is not supported by the safety rope alone. Fasten the other piece of the metal clamp onto the looped piece using the screw and nut to secure the safety rope. Fold the free end of the safety rope back into the downrod from the top and raise the canopy to the ceiling.
Connect the Phase and Neutral wires coming out from the downrod to the ceiling
rose.
Connect (Green/Yellow) mains earth wire to the screw marked as on the Shackle
kit.
Note: Adjust the canopies such that the top canopy covers the shackle
assembly near the ceiling and the bottom canopy covers the terminal block
connector of the fan. Canopy touching the fan motor will lead to rubbing
noise. Safety rope holds the fan temporarily to the ceiling hook during the
primary suspension system’s failure. The failure may occur due to improper
installation, material failure, improper ceiling, etc. In case of primary
suspension system failure, turn OFF the fan and secure the ceiling fan.
