Functional Description
This device uses tap water to create filtered and mineralized, still, lightly sparkling, or sparkling, drinking water.
The main functions of the device are:

  • water filtration
  • water enhancement (mineralization and carbonation)

The water filtration and mineralization occur mainly through the filtration technology in the Mitte Home cartridge. The cartridge is a consumable that should be exchanged regularly according to its treatment capacity.

The carbonation happens through the CO2 cylinder. The CO2 cylinder also supports the mineralization function. This means that a CO2 cylinder is needed even to dispense still water. The Mitte CO2 cylinder is also a consumable that should be exchanged regularly according to its carbonation capacity.

The device can be optionally used as a connected device via WiFi and complemented by a companion mobile app with additional functionalities such as Smart Refills of Mitte Home cartridges and CO2 cylinders. All essential functions of the device can also be performed independently of the connectivity.

Type Plate
The type plate is on the back of the device and contains the following information:

  • type designation
  • serial number
  • manufacturer
  • CE marking

Always keep the type plate clean and legible.

Changing  the Mitte Home Cartridge

NOTICE

  • Please check the indicators on the Mitte Home cartridge and the hinged port to ensure the cartridge is inserted correctly.

The Mitte Home cartridge needs to be replaced based on usage. After the first dispense, the cartridge expires within three months, regardless of the usage. Consequently, the Mitte Home cartridge must be replaced at least every three months.

When the Mitte Home cartridge is running low, a slow pulsing orange notification light will indicate that the cartridge is near depletion. This warning is also displayed within the Mitte app under Device Status and on the Home Screen.
When the Mitte Home cartridge is fully depleted, the device will display a fast pulsing orange notification light indicating it is time to change the cartridge. The Mitte Home will stop dispensing when the cartridge is fully depleted.
In order to change the Mitte Home cartridge, open the cartridge door and rotate
the cartridge by a ¼ turn counter-clockwise, disengaging it from the hinged docking mechanism.

Replace it with a new Mitte Home cartridge (refer to chapter 4.3). Activate the new cartridge (refer to chapter 4.7) by filling the water tank to the minimum fill line followed by pressing Dispense and then discarding the water.
If you want to swap cartridges, store partly used cartridges (not depleted) in a dry, cool environment, in a vertical position, and with the protective cap on.

Changing the CO2 Cylinder

WARNING

  • Risk of explosion: the CO2 cylinder is under pressure
  • Be careful when handling it.
  • Do not shake the CO2 cylinder immediately before inserting it.

The Mitte CO2 cylinder needs to be replaced based on usage.
When the CO2 cylinder is running low, a slow pulsing orange notification light will indicate that it is near depletion. This warning is also displayed within the Mitte App under Device Status and on the Home Screen.

When the Mitte CO2 cylinder is fully depleted, the device will display a fast pulsing orange notification light indicating it is time to change the CO2 cylinder.

In order to change the Mitte CO2 cylinder, open the cylinder door and unscrew the CO2 cylinder counter-clockwise. It is normal to experience small amounts of CO2 discharge when removing it.

Install the new Mitte CO2 cylinder by threading it into the valve (refer to chapter 4.4). Store the old CO2 cylinders. Once there are enough empty cylinders to fill the box, place them in the original packaging and send them back to Mitte for reuse.

Store new and used Mitte CO2 cylinders in a dry, cool environment and in a vertical position. Please also follow the storage instructions on the CO2 cylinder and its packaging.
