GENERAL SAFTY RULES FOR ALL TOOLS

WARNING! Read and understand all instructions.
Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious personal injury.

GENERAL SAFETY RULES

WORK AREA

• Keep your work area clean and well lit. Cluttered benches and dark areas invite accidents.
• Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
• Keep bystanders, children, and visitors away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY

• Don’t expose power tools to key parts to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool key parts (eg. Motor, battery) will increase the risk of electric shock.

PERSONAL SAFETY

• Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use tool while tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury. [email protected] 
• Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Contain long hair. Keep your hair, clothing, and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothing, jewelry, or long hair can be caught in moving parts. Air vents often cover moving parts and should also be avoided.
• Avoid accidental starting. Be sure switch is off before plugging in . Carrying tools with your finger on the switch or plugging in tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
• Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. Proper footing and balance enables better control of the tool in unexpected situations.
• Use safety equipment . Always wear eye protection. Dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection must be used for appropriate conditions.

TOOL USE AND CARE

• Use clamps or other practical way to secure and support the work piece to a stable platform. Holding the work by hand or against your body is unstable and may lead to loss of control.
• Do not use tool if switch does not turn it on or off. Any tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
• Store idle tools out of reach of children and other untrained persons. Tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
• Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, and any other condition that may affect the tool’s operation. If damaged, have the tool serviced before using. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained tools.
• Use only accessories that are recommended by the manufacturer for your model. Accessories that may be suitable for one tool, may become hazardous when used on another tool.

ADDITION SPECIFIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR BACKPACK SPRAYER

WARNING: Handling the brass parts of this product will expose you to lead, a chemical known to the State of California to cause birth defects and other reproductive harm.

• Do not leave a pressurized sprayer in the hot sun. Heat can cause pressure build-up resulting in possible explosion.
• Do not store or leave solution in tank after use. Always wear goggles, gloves, long sleeve shirt, long pants and full foot protection when spraying. Do not attempt to modify this sprayer. Replace parts only with manufacturer’s original parts. Never spray flammable, caustic, acidic, chlorine, bleach or other corrosive solutions or heat, pressure, or gas producing chemicals.
• Always read and follow chemical manufacturer’s instructions before use with this sprayer as some chemicals may be hazardous when used with this sprayer.
• Wash hands after handling.
• Do Not exceed a tank solution temperature of 120° F/ 49° C.
• ALWAYS WEAR EYE PROTECTION WHEN USING THIS TOOL.
• Avoid using a sprayer for general cleaning purposes if plant protection or herbicide chemicals have already been used in the sprayer. If a sprayer has been used for plant protection or as an herbicide, clean the sprayer completely (see cleaning section) before using.
• Plant Food: Use different spray patterns for optimum foliage feeding or for fungicide and pesticide application.
• Herbicides: Reduce weeds and unwanted plants but avoid using the same sprayer for plant feeding or protection without thoroughly cleaning (see cleaning section) the sprayer first.
• General Household Use: Apply detergents, cleaning solutions, warm water (do not exceed 120°F/49°C) or nontoxic household cleaning chemicals for carpets, floors, walls, glass, counter tops and ceilings. DO NOT use sprayer that has been use d with herbicides, pesticides or other toxic chemicals for household applications.
• General Outdoor Use: Use the sprayer for cleaning windows or with a detergent for general purpose cleaning.

**SPECIFICATIONS

**

• It’s recommended to use the plastic wand when spraying Alcohol and Disinfectant.Other chemicals like Pesticide, Fertilizer or pure water should be sprayed with the stainless steel wand.
• Shut-off valve is pre-installed with the tank in the package. Customers are able to use the product after installing the wand to the shut-off valve. Assembly instructions below are only guidelines for other instances.

ASSEMBLY GUIDE

1.  Make sure the o-ring is installed on the end of the wand. Turn and tighten the retaining nut of the wand along with the o-ring into the shut-off valve.

2. Insert, turn and tighten the retaining nut of the hose along with the o- ring to the shut-off valve.

3. Turn and tighten the nozzle to the metal wand.
   Only the metal nozzle and the WIDE plastic nozzleare compatible with the metal wand.

4. Assembled Metal wand should look as follows. Plastic Wand Assembly

5. Plastic Wand comes with two nuts and o-ring for the plastic black nozzle and the shut-off valve.

6. Push each side of the nuts and o-ring to each end of the wand.

7. Insert, turn and tighten the retaining nut of the plastic wand to the shut-off valve.
   Only the black plastic nozzle is compatible with the plastic wand

**Hose Assembly

1.  Insert, turn and tighten the retaining nut of the hose to the shut-off valve.
2.  Assembled wand should look as follows.

INSTALLING AND REMOVING THE BATTERY PACK FROM THE SPRAYER

To install the battery pack, open the battery compartment located on the side of the sprayer and insert the battery pack until an audible click is heard.

To remove the battery pack, open the battery compartment, firmly press the green battery release button and slowly pull the battery out of the battery compartment

OPERATIONS GUIDE

POWER SWITCH

WARNING: RISK OF UNINTENDED SPRAYING AND CHEMICAL EXPOSURE. Ensure that the Shut-off is in the closed position (Lever released) before pressing the Power Button. The Sprayer will spray if the Shut-off isopen (Lever depressed) when the power is turned ON. Only spray when the air is calm (no wind or air movement) to prevent chemical spray from drifting into unintended areas.  To turn on the sprayer, switch the power button to the II. To increase the pressure of the sprayer from 40 psi to 70 psi, switch the power button to the I. To turn off the sprayer, switch the power button to the 0.

Extension Wand Release

1. To Release the Extension Wand, simply turn the retaining nut of the extension wand counter-clockwise and pull the extension wand out. [email protected]
2. After the extension wand reaches your ideal length, turn and tighten the retaining nut of the extension wand to secure the position.
3. Released extension wand should look as follows.

NOZZLE ADJUSTMENT Metal Nozzle

A. Turn the nozzle clockwise to generate mist-like spray. Suitable for the following conditions:

1. lawn replacement. Kill lawn and weeds before planting a new lawn.
2. Preparing large areas for planting of ornamental and vegetable gardens.

B. Turn the nozzle counter-clockwise to generate concentrated spot spray. Suitable for the following conditions:

1. Spot spraying in or around flower beds, trees, and shrubs.
2. Edging along fences, driveways, and walkways.
3. Killing brush such as poison ivy, poison oak, kudzu and wild blackberry.
4. Preparing garden beds for planting of ornamentals and vegetables.

WIDE Plastic Nozzle
Plastic Nozzle is used for WIDE mist-like spray. Suitable for the following conditions:3

1. lawn replacement. Kill lawn and weeds before planting a new lawn.
2. Preparing WIDE large areas for planting of ornamental and vegetable gardens.

SHOULDER STRAP
Attach both the top and the end of the shoulder straps to the tank by clipping the strap hooks to the plastic frame on the tank.

Complete Look Should be as follows

Release Extra Drainage from the Wand and Shut-off Valve To release the extra drainage, screw the valve stem retaining nut out from the valve stem and release the extra drainage.

Lock-Switch

For continuous spraying, depress the Lever and rotate the Lock to hold the Lever in the depressed position. To unlock, release the Lock and Shut-off Lever to Stop Spraying

FILLING THE SPRAYER
Determine the amount of mixture needed for your application. Add the proper amount of water to the tank. Add the proper amount of chemical to the tank (check the chemical label for proper ratio of chemical). Stir mixture in tank with a clean utensil (like a paint stirrer). The tank will hold the 3-gallon (11.3L) capacity plus the chemical. It is not necessary to completely fill the sprayer tank with each use. You can fill the tank with only the amount needed for each application. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions included on their product label.

POWDER-BASED CHEMICALS
Powder-based chemicals (powder mixed with liquids to make the spraying agent) are usually abrasive and can cause wear. When you use a powder-based chemical in your sprayer, make sure it is thoroughly dissolved in the liquid solution. Thoroughly clean and flush the sprayer with water to extend the life of the sprayers parts.

When finished spraying turn switch to off position. Remove and re-charge battery.
Note: Unit is equipped with a battery protection circuit. If sprayer abruptly stops after spraying for an extended period of time, the battery may require charging.

CLEANING AND STORAGE

Always empty the sprayer and clean the tank thoroughly after each use.

WARNING: RISK OF UNINTENDED SPRAYING AND CHEMICAL EXPOSURE.

Always wear appropriate personal protection equipment as instructed by chemical manufacturer when using, preparing, handling, spraying, or disposing of chemicals. This includes at least goggles, gloves, and protective clothing. Prior to performing maintenance always depressurize Sprayer by turning off the tool and operating the Pressure Release Valve until no pressure remains in the Tank.

CAUTION: RISK OF DAMAGE TO INTERNAL COMPONENTS.

Failure to properly rinse out the Sprayer may allow chemical residue build-up that can clog or damage the Filters, Pump, Shut-off, Wand, and Nozzle. Chemical residue build-up can also contaminate subsequent applications. Leaving chemical liquids in the Sprayer when not in use can lead to premature Sprayer wear. Never store Sprayer with chemical in any part of the Sprayer.

1. Turn off the Pump by switching the power button to the 0.
2. Operate the Pressure Release Valve until the air inside the Tank stops flowing out.
3. Empty any extra chemical from the Tank into a suitable container for later use or disposal according to chemical manufacturer’s instructions.
4. Use clean water to thoroughly rinse and empty the Tank until all chemical and residues are removed.
5. Add approximately 1 quart [1 liter] of clean water to the Tank.
6. Switch the Power Button to the II so the Pump will pressurize the Tank.
7. With clean water in the clean Tank, spray water through the Hose, Shutoff, Wand, and Nozzle for at least 30 seconds to rinse them out. Failure to rinse out the Hose, Shutoff, Wand, and Nozzle may allow chemical residue build-up that can clog or damage the components. After heavy use rinsing the Nozzle may not be enough to remove residue. The Nozzle may need to be cleaned with a small brush.
8. Switch the Power Button to the Oto turn off the Pump.
9. Operate the Pressure Release Valve to release pressure.
10. Open the Shut-off (depress Lever) to drain any remaining water from the Hose, Shut-off, and Wand.
11. Empty out any remaining water from the Tank.
12. Allow the Sprayer to dry. This is best done by hanging the Tank
13. Store the Sprayer, and Charger indoors in a warm, dry location out of direct sunlight and away from any sources of moisture or intense heat. Do not store Sprayer where freezing temperatures (below 32°F/0°C) will occur. Allowing water to freeze inside the Sprayer may damage the Pump, Seals, Shutoff, or other components, and void the Sprayer warranty.
14. To ensure optimal Battery life the Battery should be charged at least once every 3 months when not in use.

BATTERY

Battery LED Indicator
KIMO battery packs include a fuel gauge which consists of four LED lights that indicate the level of charge remaining in the battery pack. The fuel gauge is an indication of approximate levels of charge remaining in the battery pack according to the following indicators:

NOTE:

1. Tap the battery indicator button to see the remaining power
2. During charging, all 4 lights will blink in sequence and will automatically shut off after the battery is fully charged.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR BATTERY CARTRIDGE

1. Before using battery cartridge, read all instructions and cautionary markings on (1) battery charger, (2) battery, and (3) product using battery.
2.  Do not disassemble battery cartridge.
3. lf operating time has become excessively shorter, stop operating immediately. It may result in a risk of overheating, possible burns and even an explosion.
4.  lf electrolyte gets into your eyes, rinse them out with clear water and seek medical attention right away. It may result in loss of your eyesight.
5. Do not short the battery cartridge:
6. Do not touch the terminals with any conductive material.
7. Avoid storing battery cartridge in a container with other metal objects such as nails, coins, etc.
8. Do not expose battery cartridge to water or rain. A battery short can cause a large current flow, overheating, possible burns and even a breakdown.
9. Do not store the tool and battery cartridge in locations where the ° the temperature may reach or exceed 122 F.
10. Do not incinerate the battery cartridge even if it is severely damaged or is completely worn out. The battery cartridge can explode in a fire.
11. Be careful not to drop or strike battery.
12. Do not use a damaged battery.
13. Follow your local regulations relating to disposal of battery.

Every KIMO power tool is warranted to the original purchaser only to be free from defects in material and workmanship. Subject to certain exceptions, KIMO will replace any part on an electric power tool that is defective in material or workmanship for a period of 2 years after the date of purchase unless otherwise noted. This warranty does not apply to damage from repairs made or attempted by anyone other than KIMO, misuse, alterations, abuse, normal wear and tear, lack of maintenance, or accidents. Normal Wear: Many power tools need periodic parts replacement and service to achieve best performance. This warranty does not cover repair when normal use has exhausted the life of a part including, but not limited to, chucks, brushes, cords, saw shoes, blade clamps, o-rings, seals and driver blades. Warranty Registration is not necessary to obtain the applicable warranty on a KIMO power tool product. This warranty applies to product sold in the U.S.A. only.
