SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

In order to avoid possible damages or property losses to yourself and others, please observe following safety precautions.

  • Do not pull a power line during movement or storage.

  • Do not touch a power plug with wet hands.

  • Do not damage the power line or power plug.
    Do not cut, modify, pull, excessively twist and wrap the power line. Do not place a heavy object on the power line or squeeze the power line. Replace damaged power line (if any) by a professional of the Manufacturer’s maintenance Department or designated department so as to avoid damage.

  • Do not use the power, socket or connecting device which are overrated, and only use 220V 50Hz AC power.

  • Do not use it at the place where a child can have an access to it.

  • Do not use chlorine or acid detergent.

  • Do not put fingers or metal objects into the air inlet, air outlet and other gaps.

  • Do not dismantle or modify the air purifier without authorization. Please contact the manufacturer for troubleshooting in case of any fault.

  • Fully insert the plug into power socket

  • Regularly clean the power plug.

  • Pull out the power plug, and dry it with dry cloth. · Pull out the power plug in case of long term non-use.

  • Switch off the power before maintenance. In the occurance of any following circumstances, immediately switch off the power.

    • If the switch does not work.
    • If a circuit breaker acts or the fuse burns out.
    • If the power line or plug becomes abnormally hot.
    • If burning smell or abnormal sound of vibration is found.
  • In case of any other abnormalities or faults.

  • Entrust the manufacturer, maintenance center or a qualified technician to replace the damaged power line (if any) so as to avoid danger.

  • Children or persons suffering disability, perceptual disturbance or mental retardation should use the air purifier under supervision and assistance of the Safety Director.

  • Do not allow a child to operate the air purifier without authorization

  • Do not place it at the following places. Unstable bearing surface.
    Areas of High-temperature and high-humidity where the air purifier is possibly damaged, for example, bathroom, Kitchen and other places where oil fumes are heavy. Place where combustible gas exists and possibly leaks

  • Prevent volatile substances or combustible goods such as cigarette or incense from entering into the air purifier so as to avoid fire.

  • Do not clean the air purifier with alcohol, diluent or other solvent, and avoid surface contact with aerosol bomb.

  • Do not use the air purifier in a room where aromatic insecticide is sprayed. [After insecticide is sprayed, open windows to keep the room thoroughly ventilated, and then use the air purifier].

  • Do not sit on or lean against the air purifier so as to avoid possible damage and personal injury.

  • Correctly insert and extract the power plug so as to avoid damage to the power line.

  • The air purifier cannot be used to eliminate carbon oxide. When using with a non-electrical heater, please keep the air flowing.

WARRANTY

The MAXVAC Medi 4e is supplied with a 12 month warranty on material and manufacturing defects. Keep (or a copy of) your receipt in order to be able to submit the correct purchase date.
Never try to repair the Medi yourself without prior approval from the manufacturer.
The warranty does not include defects that result from normal wear, negligence, incorrect use, repairs without permission and defects caused by connecting the Medi to the wrong mains voltage. Should you determine that your air unit requires a service, please contact your local dealer.

This air unit is not a medical device. Do not stop or alter any medical therapy programs or medications without the advice of your physician. Excessive ozone concentrations may cause mucous membrane or respiratory irritation.

UNDERSTANDING THE AIR PURIFIER

USE OF CONTROL PANEL

  1. Turn the device on by pressing the “ON/OFF” button
  2. Press `Auto’ to enter into automatic purification mode. The intelligent system will automatically manage the purification according to the air quality.
  3. When the air quality is good, the indicator light will turn green and the machine will clean on the lowest required setting. If the air quality is average, the indicator light will turn yellow and the machine will clean the air on the second position. should the air quality be poor, the indicator light will turn red and the machine will increase to the highest power setting.

| To turn on

  • Plug in the power cord and start the air purifier by pressing the ‘On/ Off’ key.
  • Whenever you plug in and turn on the machine, it will start in the Automatic mode. The sensor needs 1 minute to measure the air quality, the indicator light will be blue.
  • Restart the air purifier in standby mode. The machine will be working in automatic mode.

| Air Speed

  • Press the Air Speed key for cycle switching at speeds 1 – 4. At this time the corresponding air speed indicator is on. When the machine is in Automatic mode, press the air speed key to enter the manual mode.

| Automatic mode

  • Activate the automatic mode by pressing the ‘Auto’ key. The automatic mode will select the best purification speed according to the air quality. The ‘Negative Ion’ mode will be activated and the corresponding key light ‘Anion’ will be on.
  • Exit the automatic mode by pressing the Air speed key.

| Sleep Mode

  • Activate the Sleep mode by pressing the ‘Sleep’ key. Under the sleep mode the machine will run under air speed appropriate for sleeping, and all indicators except for ‘Sleep’ key will be off. Deactivate the sleep mode by pressing any key.

| Timing adjustment

  • Set the working hours of the air purifier by pressing the ‘Timer’ key. When time is expired, the air purifier will automatically go back to automatic mode.

| Negative Ion purification

  • Activate/deactivate the UV-C germicidal lamp by pressing the ‘Anion’ key. At this time the UV-C lamp will be on or off.

| Child Lock

  • Activate the child lock function by pressing the “Child Lock” key once. At this time, all function keys will be locked, and no operation will be executed by pressing any key until the child lock is released.
  • To release the “Child Lock” mode press & hold the “Child Lock” button for 5 seconds. All function keys will be restored for normal use.

| Replace Filter

  • The replace filter light will illuminate when the filter is no longer able to filter efficiently any longer. You now need to replace the filters with new ones.

USING A TIMER

The timer function allows the user to set their units up so that the air purifier only runs for the length of time you determine. This allows you to set it in the morning and not have to worry about turning it off again later in the day.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

Outside cleaning
Wipe off any stains with a soft cloth. More stubborn dirt should be removed with soft cloth and small amount of neutral detergent. During maintenance, do not scratch the housing with a hard object.

Replacing filters
If the “Replacing Filter” icon lights up, it is time to replace the filter. Undo the finger screws from the back of the unit to remove the back plate. Ensure you install the new filters in the correct sequence and airflow direction.

Maintenance of the dust sensor
After the air purifier has been used for approx 3 months, the air quality sensor should be cleaned to ensure air monitoring accuracy. Open the protective cover of the air quality sensor port, and wipe off dirt accumulated on the cover with a cloth or soft brush. Clean the lens & upper/lower sensor ports of the air quality sensor with slightly damp cotton swab, and then carefully dry it. Reinstall the protective cover.

Replacement of UV-C lamp
To replace the UV-C lamps, remove the front panel of the machine. Remove the HEPA13 filter in order to excess the UV-C lamps.

WARNING: ALWAYS unplug the machine before attempting to replace the UV-C lamp. Never make direct eye contact with the UV-C light. It can cause severe damage.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Possible issues which occur during use are listed below. If you cannot solve the troubles according to following information, please contact your local dealer.

Unable to start The power plus is not properly inserted: reinsert the

power plug.
The inlet cover or the filter is not installed correctly. The air purifier is place on slanted plane.
No or little air is discharged from the| The air inlet or air outlet is blocked: remove any obstructing elements; if the filter is very dirty; replace the filter.
Although the air purifier has been operating for a long time, air quality is not significantly improved|

  1. Check whether the filters are installed and the the packing bag is removed from the filter.
  2. Check whether the filter is very dirty, and replace the filter if necessary.
  3. Ensure the device is free standing and has adequate space around it for free air movement. Min. 1m is recomended. (refer to the Operating Instructions)
  4. The room where the air purifier is located is oversized.

Excessive noise| Turn off the unit and remove the the plastic filter packaging.
Although air is dirty, the air quality indicator still shows green or blue.| Check CO2 levels with an external CO2 monitor. Ventilate the area with fresh air as required.
It is difficult to remove pollutants in air| If the situation has not been improved after basic maintenance, replace the filters.
Air from the air outlet smells| The filter smells bad within several weeks or months if it is used under the existence of cigarette, barbecue and other strong odours, immediately replace the filters, and maintain adequate indoor ventilation.

Part Replacement
The air purifier is a maintenance-free device if it is used and stored with care. If you need to replace it, please contact the Manufacturer or authorised dealer.

Caution: Turn off Power Switch if you want to open the front panel of the unit to replace filters or parts.

Q. What does the Air Purifier do?
A. The Medi 4e air purifier treats the air in your office or home by filtering out and removing airborne particulate from your breathing space.

Q. How does the Air Purifier treat the air?
A. The Air Purifier uses a mixture of HEPA filtration, UVC sterilisation to remove airborne particles and destroy the DNA of airborne microorganisms.

Q. How often will the UVC bulbs need to be exchanged
A. The Medi 4e UVC bulbs have a 6000h lifetime run time before they need replacing. If you require replacement bulbs, contact your local dealer.

Q. How often will the Filters need to be exchanged?
A. The Medi 4e filters should be replaced approximately every 6 months and depends on how frequently the machine is run and the environment it is located in. If you require replacement filters, contact your local dealer.

Q. Where should I place the Air Purifier for optimum effectiveness?
A. The Medi 4e air purifier should be placed as close as possible to any known source, or where the highest intensity of airborne particulates are located. In restaurants and office environments this is typically near to tables & desks where people are located. Ensure that minimum 30cm space is left on each side of the machine to ensure air can be drawn in without hinderance.
