DR18SUB Controls
Controls
- BALANCED OUTPUTS – Use these outputs to send out balanced audio signals via cables with XLR connectors.
- BALANCED INPUTS – Use these inputs to route in audio signals via cables with XLR connectors.
- SUBWOOFER LEVEL – This knob controls the final output volume.
- XOVER – Use this switch to toggle between crossover points at 90 Hz and 120 Hz.
- OUTPUTS MODE – Use this switch when sending audio signals from the BALANCED OUTPUTS to additional speakers. In the LINK position, the output audio signal uses the full frequency range (20 Hz to 20 kHz). In the XOVER position, the output audio signal passes through a high-pass filter that removes all frequencies below 90 Hz or 120 Hz, as selected by the XOVER switch.
- SIGNAL LED – This LED lights green to indicate an audio signal is present at the BALANCED INPUTS.
- LIMIT LED – This LED lights red to indicate the input signal is overloading the inputs and that the internal limiter has been activated to reduce the input volume.
- PHASE – Press this switch to address phase cancellation problems between the subwoofer and satellite speakers. When active this button shifts the subwoofer’s audio output by 180°.
- POWER LED – This LED lights blue to indicate the subwoofer is switched on.
- POWER – Press this switch to turn the subwoofer on and off.
- AC INPUT – Plug the included IEC power cable into this jack.
Specifications
Getting started
- Place your speaker(s) in desired locations.
- Make all necessary connections. DO NOT turn on the power yet.
- Set the SUBWOOFER LEVEL control to the full counterclockwise position.
- Turn on your audio sources connected to the subwoofer.
- Turn on your speaker(s) by pressing the POWER switch. The POWER LED will light up.
- While playing audio from your source, adjust the SUBWOOFER LEVEL knob clockwise to your desired level. If the LIMIT LED lights continuously, turn the SUBWOOFER LEVEL back down until the LIMIT LED only lights occasionally.
- Press the OUTPUTS MODE switch to choose between LINK or XOVER modes.
- When in XOVER mode, press the XOVER button to select between 90 Hz or 120 Hz crossover points to find the best balance between the subwoofer and the satellite speakers.
- Press the PHASE switch if you notice phase cancellation problems between the subwoofer and the connected speakers.

- Power Connections. Before plugging the unit into a power socket, please make sure you are using the correct mains voltage for your particular model. Faulty fuses must be replaced with fuses of the same type and rating without exception.
