Basic Pattern Guide
These boxes show the basic pattern produced by each of the different WHEELS.
The patterns here were all drawn with the pen in Hole No. 1 of each WHEEL.
The number of teeth on a WHEEL and RING determines the number of points in the
pattern. For each numbered hole on a WHEEL, the shape of the pattern changes,
but the number of points in the pattern stays the same.

Using Travel Spirograph
- Slide the frame all the way open and place a sheet of paper on the base, sticky side down.
- Close the frame over the sheet of paper. The frame will lock shut with a click.
- Place a WHEEL inside the RING and engage the teeth of both pieces so they interlock.
NOTE: When using your pens for the first time, scribble a little on a piece of scrap paper to get the ink flowing.
Always keep the pen in an upright position and keep the WHEEL teeth in contact with the RING teeth while drawing. Draw slowly to avoid slipping of the gears.
Positioning Lines
Using the POSITIONING LINES to begin your design at different starting points along the RiING, you can create more complex patterns. The design below uses HOLE No. 1 on WHEEL No. 60, using a different color pen for each different starting position.
