Materials and supplies

  • Pencil
  • Metric ruler
  • Suitable hardback book EASY FOLD folding tool Scissors

Position the book

Place the book in front of you with the spine towards you, like in the image.

Determine the starting page

We want the same amount of pages on both sides of the pattern, once folded into the book. Our website will calculate this for you. Simply fill out the last page number of the book when downloading the pattern and you’ll receive a pattern with the correct starting page.

Mark the pages

Open the book on the page that is listed in the pattern. Take your ruler and line up the zero with the top left side of the page. Leave a little room between the ruler and the side of the page where you’re going to place the marks. Each page needs two marks, take a look at the pattern and find the first mark for the page. Place a little marking on the page on the location indicated in the pattern. Now leave the ruler as is and also place the second mark. Go to the next page. Continue marking the pages until you reach the end of the pattern.

Fold the pages

It’s time to fold the pages and complete your book folding pattern. Turn the book towards you and open the book on the page where your first marks are. Simply fold each page twice on the exact position of the marks. Try to keep the folds in an angle of 90 degrees. If that’s not possible, fold them as closely to 90 degrees as you can. Use the EASY FOLD to create crisp folds. Sharper folds give a far better result. Not all folds fit the page exactly. If a section crosses the spine of the book, simply cut the excess page like in the third image.

EASY FOLD

The EASY FOLD is an essential tool for any bookfolder to fold any book folding pattern. It doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or an avid folder, the EASY FOLD helps you create those crisp and sharp folds you need to get a great looking book.
