The Six Shooter™ – Advanced Chase Controller User Manual v1.2
The Six Shooter™ – Advanced Chase Controller
Thank you for purchasing a high-quality Six Shooter™ Chase Controller from The
Christmas Light Emporium.
The front of your controller features (from left to right as seen in the
picture below) a fuse holder, a mode switch, a speed control knob, and an
output selection knob.
The back of your controller features 6 power outputs and one power input. The power input is located on the left side in the picture below. Output #1 is located all the way to the right in the picture below and output #6 is located next to the power input.
To use the controller simply connect what you will be controlling (i.e. lights and/or resistive electrical loads) to the various outputs of the controller starting with output #1 and working your way towards output #6.

One does not have to use all of the outputs in order for the controller to function. For example, let’s say you have a wheel that features 4 circuits of lights. You would connect the first circuit to output #1, the next to output
2, the next circuit to output #3, and the last circuit to output #4. Outputs
5 and #6 would be left empty.
Once you have connected items to the controller you can connect the power
input to electrical power (120VAC) and the controller will automatically begin
cycling the power
outputs.
NOTE: Do not exceed the 10 amp limit of the unit or replace the fuse with anything but a 10 amp or smaller fuse.
Select the number of outputs you are using by turning the output selection knob on the front of the controller. If you are using 4 outputs like the example mentioned above then turn the knob to 4. If you are using all 6 outputs then turn the knob to 6. You can turn this knob at any time and the controller will automatically adjust how many outputs it is using.
Adjust the speed of the cycling by turning the speed control knob.
The Custom output setting on the output selection knob gives you three
separate custom sequences (see below for additional information).
Modes
The controller features three different modes of operation:
- Chase
- Back and forth (commonly called Bounce or Wave)
- Random
The Chase mode will sequentially chase the outputs starting at output #1 and
ending on the output selected by the output selection knob. The controller
will then begin the
sequence again back at output #1. For example, if you are using 3 outputs then
the output pattern would be as follows:
1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3 etc.
Back and forth (i.e. Bounce or Wave) mode will sequentially chase the outputs
starting at output #1 all the way to the output selected by the output
selection knob and then
chase the outputs back to output #1. For example, if you are using 5 outputs
then the output pattern would be as follows:
1 2 3 4 5 4 3 2 1 2 3 4 5 4 3 2 1 2 3 etc.

Random mode randomly selects an output to turn on for each step in the
sequence.
The outputs selected will range from output #1 to the output selected by the
output selection knob.
Moving the output selection knob to the Custom selection selects one of three different custom sequences based on the position of the function rocker switch:
- Chase: Outputs 1 & 2 alternate fast and outputs 4 & 5 alternate slowly
- Bounce: Outputs 1-3 bounce fast and outputs 4-6 bounce slowly
- Random: Outputs 1-3 chase fast and outputs 4-6 bounce slowly
Changing Modes
To change the mode simply move the function rocker switch on the front of the unit to the desired function. The unit will immediately switch to the newly- selected function. If the output selection knob is pointing at the Custom selection then the selected custom sequence will operate.
