datavideo HBT-12 HDBaseT Receiver Box Instruction Manual
Introduction
The HBT-12 is an HDBaseT receiver designed to interface between transmitting and receiving devices. The receiver accepts up to 4K image quality video.
With the 56V power connected to one end of the HBT-12 HDBaseT receiver, the HBT-12 will thus be able to power the transmitting device by PoE plus technology (PoE++). Please only use Cat 7 Ethernet cables to connect PoE++ powered devices.
HDBaseT connection between the transmitter and the receiver can be established using a single Ethernet cable. In other words, HDMI video, DVIP control commands and power (PoE++) can be transmitted between the transmitter and the receiver over just one cable.
Features
- Receives up to 4Kx2K video from the transmitter.
- Extends video transmission to 120m (maximum).
- Transmits video, audio, DVIP control, RS-422/232 control and PoE+ over a single Cat 7 cable.
- 56V PoE+ Power supply.
- DVIP Control Protocol
- RS-422/232 Control Protocol

HDBaseT Port
Only use a Cat 7 Ethernet cable to connect between the PTR-10T MARK II robotic
pan tilt head and the HBT-12 receiver.
Note: See Cable Selection for cable recommendations.
RS-232/RS-422 Port (RJ-45)
The RS-232/RS-422 port connects HBT-12 directly to Datavideo camera
controllers such as RMC-180, RMC-300A or RMC-300C. Use the RS232 or RS-422
custom cable to connect. See RS232/RS-422 pinout for more information about
the respective cabling.
DIP Switch
The receiver box allows long distance connectivity to PTR-10T MARK II of up to
120 meters while compromising on maximum supported resolution of up to 1080p.
Select 4K mode (2160p) if the connection distance is less than 70 meters. If
your system is not required to support resolutions higher than 1080p, you can
activate long reach mode and enjoy longer cable reach of up to 120 meters.
The DIP Switch is used to select from the available connection modes listed as follows:
00: 4K Mode RS-232
01: 4K Mode RS-422
10: Long Reach RS-232
11: Long Reach RS-422
Note: See the Cable Selection section for cable recommendations.
RS-232/RS-422 Pinout
You can use RS-232 or RS-422 control protocol to control the PTR-10T MARK II
behind the HBT-12 HDBaseT Receiver Box with Datavideo camera controllers such
as RMC-180, RMC-300A or RMC-300C. You will need to use a custom Ethernet cable
to connect between the controller
and HBT-12. Wire the connection cable according to the respective RS232 and
RS-422 wiring diagrams shown below.
