TIPS
- Toasting is a combination of cooking and drying the bread. Therefore, differences in moisture level from one bread to another can result in varying toasting times.
- For slightly dry bread, use a lower setting than you normally would.
- For very fresh bread or whole wheat bread, use a higher setting than normal.
- Bread with very uneven surfaces (such as English muffins) will require a higher toast setting.
- Thickly cut pieces of bread (including bagels) will take longer to toast, sometimes significantly longer, since more moisture must be evaporated from the bread before toasting can occur. Very thick pieces may require two cycles.
- When toasting raisins or other fruit slices of bread, remove any loose raisins, etc. from the surface of the bread before putting it into the toaster. This will help prevent fruit pieces from falling into the toaster or sticking to the guide wires in the slot.
- Before toasting bagels, slice each bagel into two equal halves.
NOTE:
- The toasting lever will not lock into position unless the Toaster is plugged into a 120V AC electrical outlet.
- Never operate the toaster without the crumb tray in place.
- When toasting a single slice, the bread may be placed in any toasting slot.
- To prevent a fire hazard, never place bread over the opening of the Toaster, always place the bread into the slots.
- DO NOT change the browning selector knob selection during the toasting cycle. First press the CANCEL button; then turn the browning selector knob to adjust the browning lever. Lower the toasting lever and toast until the desired toast color is achieved.
- Never use a fork or sharp-edged utensil to remove toast, because that may damage the heating element or cause injury.
