  • The LiftMaster elevator control solution includes a cloud-based management solution, which facilitates configuration and management of the site and access control systems on-site to provide fast and reliable access control.
  • The LiftMaster elevator solution can be used in buildings where the access to hailing an elevator to the lobby floor is locked until a resident or guest is authenticated via their card/FOB, PIN codes, or myQ® Community App. The users have access only if they have valid credentials and the day/time is within their assigned schedule with the default schedule being 24/7 Always Access.
  • The solution also can be configured for an unlocked schedule (e.g. allows free access during the day but requires user credentials during the night).
  • For integrated access, when the user is granted access to the main entrance, the smart video intercom system can signal the CAP2D to enable the floors for the elevator cab.

WARNING

  • When CAP2D is powered off or goes through a reset, the floors are automatically disabled.
  • the Main floor must NOT be controlled due to emergency exit needs.
  • Contact Elevator Contractor for wiring to the elevator controller.
  • Connection to elevator controller to be completed by qualified elevator control technician.
  • Not to be used as a motor controller for elevator applications.

Additional Information

  1. ELEVATOR ACCESS CONTROL OPERATIONS
LiftMaster’s CAP2D (Smart Access 2-Door Controller) provides a highly reliable elevator access control solution.
    • Residents can use their card/fob or assigned pin code within the elevator cab to gain access to the restricted floors.
    • Invited visitors can use their guest access pin code within the elevator cab to gain access to the restricted floors. The guest access feature allows residents the capability to provide limited access to their guests. Invited visitors can also use the link in the guest pass to a web browser to unlock the elevator cab floor buttons.
    • User with the myQ® Community App can use their mobile device to enable access to the restricted floors. Hold the desired elevator cab to enable the floor. Once unlocked, the select the floor on the elevator cab panel before the timer expires. In addition to the CAP2D, LiftMaster provides an entire family of access control products including the CAPXLV, CAPXM, and CAPXS. These Smart Video Intercoms devices provide features allowing residents to extend access to visitors who have not been provided guest access.
    • Unexpected visitors can contact the resident via the smart video intercom’s video call feature.
    • When the resident grants the user access to the main entrance, the call elevator button or the elevator floor buttons are unlocked for the visitor for the configured duration.

  2. ELEVATOR ACCESS CONTROL ADDITIONAL WIRING INFORMATION
    WIEGAND INTERFACE
    • D0, D1, and GND are the mandatory connections between the CAP2D and the Reader/Keypad.
    • The Reader/Keypad input voltage can be sourced by other devices instead of CAP2D if that is desired.
    • The RED, GRN, and BUZ provide audio and visual feedback to the user when they enter their credentials at the Reader / Keypad.
    POWER AND ETHERNET INTERFACE
    • The example wiring diagram above shows CAP2D using PoE (single interface for both Ethernet and Power).
    • If PoE is not available, the CAP2D can also use Ethernet with separate 12VDC input.
    RELAY INTERFACE
    • The CAP2D supports dry contacts with options to use NO or NC.
    • Whether to use NO or NC will depend on the elevator controller system.
    • For newer elevator controllers, proprietary logic is sometimes used to communicate between the cab panel and the elevator controller.

  • These elevator controllers typically support an interface allowing access control systems to enable each floor. In this case, the CAP2D relay output (either NO or NC depending on elevator configuration) can be used to signal to the elevator controller which floors are enabled.

  • These elevator controllers must be configured to accept the inputs to function properly.
WARNING • When CAP2D is powered off or goes through a reset, the floors are automatically disabled.
    • the Main floor must NOT be controlled due to emergency exit needs.
    • Contact Elevator Contractor for wiring to the elevator controller.
    • Connection to elevator controller to be completed by qualified elevator control technician.
    • Not to be used as a motor controller for elevator applications.

    2. ELEVATOR ACCESS CONTROL MYQ® COMMUNITY WEB PORTAL PROVISIONING

DESCRIPTION STEPS Norm
Log into the muscle account. Type account.myq.com in your web browser, click
Log In, and then provide your password. Contact LifiMaster Technical Support

(877-247-6764) for myG® account log-in issues and/or configuration issues.
Add CAP2D as necessary.| Check the box for Smart Access 2-Door Controller, select the number of devices and access point, click next, and then click ‘Start.’| A single CAP2D device with 1 access point is sufficient to support one elevator cab. One CAP2D device with 2 access points can support two elevator cabs or one elevator cab and another access point type. Note that elevator access control with integrated access requires 2 access points.
Configure CAP2D.| Enter the desired name for the access point, Select Access Point Type. Elevator and click Finish.| The naming of the access point to something meaningful to the user is recommended.
Configure Access Point|   Configure the desired duration for the floor During the unlock schedule,
Configure invalid attempt settings if needed.
Configure Permissions if needed.| During the unlock schedule, users will not need to provide their credentials to gain access to the restricted floors. When outside the unlock schedule, credentials are validated prior to providing access. For example, floors might be accessible by everyone from 8 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday. But user credentials are required outside of those times. For applications requiring users to provide credentials and also restrict their access to certain times, reference the user, group, and schedule configurations supported by myQ® Community web portal.
Control from the browser is needed to allow the administrator to unlock the access point (e.g. enable the floors) remotely from the myC® Community web portal. Enable Resident Remote Access is needed to allow residents to use their myQ® Community App to open an access point (e.g. enable the floors). Enable Guest Remote Access is needed if the guest receiving a guest pass is allowed to use the elevators.
---|---|---
Test Floor Enable-Feature| Click Unlock for the access point for the elevator cab and then verify that the restricted floor is enabled.| There are other methods to remotely enable the floor buttons including using the myD® Community web portal dashboard and using the myQ® Community App. Any of these options can be used to test the wiring and configuration.
