INFICON CO Check Carbon Monoxide Meter
The CO Check Carbon Monoxide Meter measures the presence of carbon monoxide (CO), indicating the gas’s concentration in atmosphere between the values of 1 – 999 parts per million.
CAUTION
Do not use the CO Check as a personal safety monitor. The CO Check should be
recalibrated yearly.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
- Remove the battery access door and install the 9-volt alkaline battery.
- Turn “ON” the detector by pressing the right-hand button. The meter will give you a short beep to indicate the power has been turned “ON”.
- The CO Check will take 30 seconds to run through a self-check and warm up. During this period, the display will indicate the time remaining before the meter is ready for operation.
- The CO Check should be turned “ON” in an area known to be free of carbon monoxide contamination. The meter will automatically establish a zero point during start-up. However, if the ambient concentration of carbon monoxide is higher than 3 ppm during the zero process, the meter will not reset the zero point and will indicate the carbon monoxide concentration level.
DISPLAY FEATURES
- Digital readout of parts per million concentrations in 1 ppm increments.
- Low battery indicator (appears with approximately 1 hour lifetime remaining).
- “MAX” indicator when meter is in maximum display mode.
- Concentration indicators per the following chart:
- 2 – 9 ppm. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Yellow
- 10 – 34 ppm . . . . . . . . . . . . Orange
- 35 ppm or higher . . . . . . . . Red
AUDIBLE OUTPUTS
- Short beep when CO Check is turned “ON”.
- Two short beeps when the meter is warmed up and ready to take readings.
- Geiger counter-like tick when the concentration of CO is between 35 – 200 ppm (frequency increases with increasing concentration of CO).
- Constant alarm when concentration moves above 200 ppm.
- Two short beeps when the meter shuts down after 20 minutes of operation.
- Two short beeps when shut down because of a low battery.
MAXIMUM READING MODE
When in the maximum reading mode, the CO Check will display the maximum
reading it measures. Press the left hand “MAX” button and the meter will
display the maximum carbon monoxide concentration measured after the meter was
put into maximum mode. “MAX” will appear on CO Check’s display when in maximum
mode. All display and audible features are still active when in maximum mode.
AUTOMATIC POWER OFF
The CO Check automatically turns off after 20 minutes. When starting up after
an automatic shut down, the concentration reading the meter was displaying
when shut down will flash for 5 seconds before the meter returns to reading
the concentration in real time.
