sE4400 T2 Mics
The sE4400
Pure and simple. No thrills. Just great sound. The sE4400 is a handcrafted vintage-meets-modern condenser microphone, featuring a brass capsule with twin 1“ gold-sputtered Mylar diaphragms. It has a smooth response, reminiscent of classic condenser mics of decades past. A true studio workhorse and delivers excellent results on any application from recording vocals, acoustic instruments, grand piano to drum overheads, brass instruments and electric guitar cabinets. The sE4400 and the T2 are also available as a factory-matched stereo pair and include a stereo mounting bar.
The T2
While the sE4400 incorporates gold-sputtered diaphragms, the T2 uses Titanium.
Why? Because it is better. Titanium is 33% stiffer and more than 300% lighter
than Gold. This results in impressive transient response perfect for capturing
sources that thrive on attack: drums, cymbals, hand percussion, upright bass,
etc.

Controls
These microphones have four switches, allowing a tailored response to the source.
Attenuation Pad
The attenuation switch, on the far left of the microphone, allows you to
reduce the microphone’s signal by 10 or 20 decibels, which can be very helpful
on loud sources, preventing overload on your audio interface. When this switch
is in its center position, the microphone output is unaffected.
Low-Cut Filter
The low-cut switch, second from the left, allows you to adjust the bass
response to your source. When engaged to the left, the microphone’s low
frequency response is rolled off at 40 Hz. When engaged to the right, the
microphone’s low frequency response is rolled off beginning at 80 Hz. In the
center position, the low frequency response is unaffected.
Polar Pattern
The two switches on the right side of the microphone control its polar
pattern. The right-center switch offers three settings. To the left, the
microphone is capturing an omnidirectional pattern. To the right, the
microphone is capturing a figure-8 pattern. In the center, you have two
options: cardioid or hype cardioid. The switch on the far right toggles
between those two polar patterns. Switch to the left for cardioid. Switch to
the right for hype cardioid.
Powering
The sE4400 and T2 condenser microphones both require 48V Phantom power to operate.
Risk of damage
Do not connect the microphone to any power supply other than a 48V Phantom
power source. Phantom power is often integrated into both mixers and audio
interfaces, and engaged via a switch on the unit’s panel. Verify that any
potential external power source is a direct substitute for integrated 48V
Phantom power.
Please be aware that Phantom power cannot pass through TRS connectors. A balanced microphone cable with XLR connectors at both sides is required to provide Phantom power to a microphone.
Safety and maintenance
Risk of damage
Please make sure that the piece of equipment to which your microphone will be
connected fulfils the safety regulations enforced in your country and is
fitted with a ground lead.
Cleaning the microphone
The microphone should only be cleaned with a soft cloth. Do not use any
cleaning agents or aggressive liquids.
