INTRODUCTION

THIS IS AURA
Aura is a pain relief machine with good vibrations to help you feel like yourself again. It is a transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) machine, which provides painless electro currents that feel like gentle buzzing pulses to help relieve pain. These pulses trick your pain receptors into letting your muscles relax, help calm your overexcited nerves, and encourages endorphins for a happy body and mind. Put a pause on pain and direct your energy back towards what you love doing instead, because none of us love putting life on hold for periods, cramps, aches, or other pain

OVERVIEW

Pain is an unpleasant signal to us that something hurts. Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) can aid in reducing or eliminating pain. TENS is a technique intended to provide pain relief by applying electrodes with low-voltage electric current to the skin to block impulses in underlying nerves. Patients can self-administer TENS and titrate dosage as required because there is no potential for overdose and there are few side effects or drug interactions. Effects are generally rapid in onset and offset, so patients are encouraged to use as and when needed. TENS is used daily and clinically proven by physiotherapists, caregivers and top athletes around the world.

INTENDED USE
TENS is a transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulator intended for symptomatic relief of chronic intractable pain and the temporary relief of pain associated with sore and aching muscles in the arm, shoulder, neck, back, waist, abdomen, and leg due to strain from exercise or normal household and work activities.

Thank you for purchasing! Unlike other Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) devices, Aura TENS is simple to use and designed especially for fast pain relief. Aura TENS uses exclusive waveform technology incorporating the longest pulse duration in its class, and delivers current into deeper regions for fast pain relief. With an option for as many as 6 therapy modes to choose from, Aura TENS provides unmatched flexibility to manage your pain. Additionally, the usage of patented LTE technology makes Aura TENS the most intelligent power and safe TENS technology out there. USE OF THIS MANUAL

This manual contains details on the set up and operation of Aura TENS and its accessories. This manual must be read in its entirety before commencing any stimulation with Aura TENS unit. If the instructions in this manual are not precisely followed the performance of this product and/or the safety of the user and/or subject may be compromised. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact TenSmart before starting use of the device. HEALTH AND SAFETY

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Do not use this device if you are using a cardiac pacemaker, implanted defibrillator, or other implanted metallic or electronic devices. Such use could cause electric shock, electrical interference, or death.

WARNINGS

•  Do not allow children to swallow or ingest accessories or detachable parts.
•  Do not use this device across or through your chest because the electrical currents introduced into the chest may cause rhythm disturbances to your heart, which may be lethal.
•  Do not use this device if you are susceptible to rhythm disturbances to the heart unless under the direction of your physician.
•  Do not use this device over your eyes, mouth, face, front of neck (especially in the carotid sinus), head, or across your heart because this could cause severe muscle spasms resulting in closure of your airway, difficulty in breathing, or adverse effects on heart rhythm or blood pressure.
•  Consult with your physician before using this device if you are in the care of a physician.
•  Consult with your physician before using this device if you have had medical or physical treatment for your pain.
•  Stop using this device and consult your physician if your pain does not improve, becomes more than mild, or continues for more than five days.
•  Do not use this device when in the bath, shower or other sources of moisture.
•  Do not use this device while driving, operating machinery, or during any activity in which electrical stimulation can put you at risk of injury.
•  Do not use this device over open wounds or rashes, or over swollen, red, infected, or inflamed areas or skin eruptions (e.g., phlebitis, thrombophlebitis, varicose veins).
•  Do not use this device over, or in proximity to, cancerous lesions.
•  Do not use this device on children because it has not been evaluated for pediatric use.
•  Do not use this device in the presence of electronic monitoring equipment (e.g., cardiac monitors, ECG alarms), which may not operate properly when the electrical stimulation device is in use.
•  Do not use this device while sleeping.
•  Do not use this device on abnormal skin, or skin that is not intact, clean, or healthy.
•  Do not operate in close proximity (e.g. 1 m) to shortwave or microwave therapy equipment as it may produce instability in the stimulator output.

PRECAUTIONS

• Do not start stimulation of the device prior to application of the device.
•  Keep this device out of the reach of children.
•  Do not use this device during pregnancy.
•  This device should not be applied on or across your head or face since the effects of stimulation of the brain are unknown.
•  This device is for symptomatic treatment and, as such, suppresses the sensation of pain that would otherwise serve as a protective mechanism.
•  If you have suspected or diagnosed heart disease, you should follow precautions recommended by your physician.
•  If you have suspected or diagnosed epilepsy or experience convulsions, you should follow precautions recommended by your physician.
•  Use this device with caution if you tend to bleed internally, such as following an injury or fracture.
•  Consult with your physician prior to using this device after a recent surgical procedure, because stimulation may disrupt the healing process.
•  Do not use this device for pain of central origin, including headache.
•  This device does not provide curative value.
• The long-term effects of nerve stimulation are unknown.
•  You may experience skin irritation or hypersensitivity due to the electrical stimulation or adhesive medium (gel pads).
•  Use this device with caution if stimulation is applied over the menstruating or pregnant uterus.
•  Use this device with caution if stimulation is applied over areas of skin that lack normal sensation.
•  Use this device only with the gel pads and accessories recommended by the manufacturer.
•  Do not remove this device from your skin with the stimulation mode of operation activated.
•  Do not place your finger, or any object, between or near your skin and the adhesive gel pads during stimulation treatment.
•  This device is not to be used in the presence of flammable or anesthesia gasses or liquids.
•  Do not allow young children, pets, or pests contact with the device as alterations to the device may compromise product safety and/or performance.
•  Handle the unit with care. Inappropriate handling of the unit may adversely affect its characteristics.

ADVERSE REACTIONS

•  Skin irritations or burns may occur in the area where the electrode gel pad is applied.
•  Stop using the device or consult with your physician if you experience adverse reactions from the use of this device

  • Short press the button to turn on the device.
  • Short press the button to select between treating modes.
  • Long press the button at 3 seconds to turn off the device.
• Indicator Light: Red light corresponding to low power. Green light corresponding to operation normal or charging finished.
• Button: At standby mode or treating mode, press button to increase the intensity.
• Button: At standby mode or treating mode, press button to decrease the intensity.
• Charging Interface: Connect the provided USB cable to charge device.

PREPARATION FOR USE

SKIN PREPARATION

•  Trim, don’t shave, excessive hair on the treatment area.
•  Wash the skin and dry completely.
•  Treatment area should be void of any lotions/oils.

SETTING UP TENS

•  Snap on the TENS to the electrode pad.
•  Place the device with the electrode pad where you feel pain.

HOW TO USE DEVICE

WARRANTY, MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE AND DEFINITION OF SYMBOLS

TENS LIMITED WARRANTY
This Limited Warranty provides the assurance to the first purchaser of the TENS the following: should the device fail to function within normal tolerances due to a defect in materials or workmanship within a period of one (1) year, commencing with the delivery of the device, will at its option:

•  repair or replace the device;
•  issue a credit to the purchaser equal to the purchase price or
•  provide a replacement at no charge.
•  In case of a warranty claim, the date of purchase has to be proven using the sales receipt or invoice.
•  Repairs under warranty should be in the warranty period either for the device or for the replacement parts.
•  The following cases are excluded under the warranty:
•  Damages that arise due to improper operation, e.g. non-observance of the user instruction;
•  Damages due to repairs or tampering by the customer or unauthorized third parties;
•  Damage which has arisen during transport from the manufacturer to the consumer;
•  Accessories that are subject to the normal course of wear and tear.
• Liability for direct or indirect consequential losses caused by the unit is excluded even if the damage to the unit is accepted as a warranty claim.

MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE

•  If the device is soiled or has a build up of gel pad residue, use a damp towel with mild soap to clean the gel pad.
•  Store the device and items supplied in original packaging when not in use.
•  The device should be operated, transported and stored at temperatures between 50°F and 110°F (10°C and 43°C), with relative humidity between 30% – 85%. All values are subject to +/- 10% tolerance.
